About us:
We're Jack & Megan, and in late 2020 we sold our belongings and packed our lives into our 2005 Toyota Troop Carrier to travel Australia. Our original plan was to complete a full lap of Australia and return home to Perth to resume our 'normal' lives. We decided we wanted to document our lap for the future and began sharing weekly travel vlogs of our life on the road and fell in love vlogging, filmmaking and sharing our lives with you. We completed our first lap and couldn't imagine living any other way so we decided to continue travelling and calling the Troopy home. We have gone on some crazy adventures since then and it is all thanks to you tuning in to join us every week.
Your dad must love you both very much to allow you to drive that machine around. Looks awesome!!!
Haha he was very eager to get his hands on it, that's for sure! Thanks for watching mate!
Well done, it was so good to see you both working together and not shy to admit being a normal couple. Can't wait to see you guys back on the road. 👍🏻
Thanks Rebecca! We can’t wait to get back on the road not long now.

Yep this sounds about right! Not cheap.
Wow the FJ45 have come out Epic thanks for sharing you go big FJ45
👍😊
Hi guys i did mine jf45 1975 model up over 25yrs ago now replaced chassis main cab a really good s/h steel roof engine reco now has later model diff's with disc brakes all from a 83 troopy nut and bolt resto took 12+ months and around 25k and that was with me & me dad doing it & mates who are professional panel beaters & spray painters. Hate to think what it would cost now and it is sitting in the shed covered up hasn't moved for a couple of years sitting on a battery maintainer ... well i did put a new battery in it last year the old one lasted over 10yrs 🤣well done im sure Jacks dad will love it .
Wow that sounds like it would be a mint Ute! Get it out and take it for a drive it deserves it haha. The old man has been driving the car to work everyday he can’t get enough of it.
Far out 10 years that’s crazy.
Yeah it is fun to get it out & drive around but after a few days you realise how rough they are to ride in 🤣🤣, & the newer ones drive much better . I will say you 2 have inspired me to turn my 1992,75 series into a camper now had the Ali-cab conversion done at the end of January, now trying to work out how to do the insides . There is so much gear out there now have taken down notes of what you lot liked & didn’t, can’t wait to see what ya change . There is a English dude on you tube who I think is over your way , he has done quite a few troopy’s now & he is doing one for him self now .
Such a good series. Turned out brilliant! Can't wait to see everything you guys have planned for the future
Thanks Adrian for following along!

Good on you guys. It is a really selfless thing you have done and even better it is for someone you love. Looking forward to more videos. Cheers guys
Thanks so much Gary! We were discussing that ourselves, we think it was so much more fulfilling than if we had just built a car for ourselves 🙌🏼
You two knocked it of the park again...well done.
Thanks Simon!!
Well done it was great too watch can't wait for you to start travelling 💙💙💙
Thank for watching Kerri 😊
Awesome work guys! Have loved following it along! I was very excited to see it drive past with Jack's dad at the wheel last week, he looked like a kid at a candy store!

Well done guys and such a lovely thing to do for your dad.
Cheers Rosemary 😊
On track fabrication maybe able to help with your rear bar enjoy?
Cheers for the tip mate!
What a fantastic series. Well done Jack and Megan. I shed a few tears watching it. How proud your dad must be. Watching this video I was surprised to hear that Jack has a short fuse, cos I've admired the way you support and encourage Megan to try anything through this build. My guess is that was harsh self judgement, compared to reality. Love watching you guys do what you do.
Thanks for following along Phil!
No Doubt about it,The FJ45 build was a MAJOR Accomplishment on many levels. Congratulations to you both. Am looking forward to seeing your trip video to Rottnest Island.Take a few pictures of a quokka, please. And the surfing. / From Victoria, BC, Canada.
Thanks for following along!

You guys should edit one big video on the build

Another great chapter in your lives. Keen to see the next one.
Cheers Greg! So keen to share the next chapter 🙌🏼
excellent work guys
Thanks heaps Sal! Happy to see you enjoyed this series, you’ve made us want to rewatch it! 😄
You 2 very often epitomise the possibility of couples rolling up their sleeves and tackling a challenge. You both capitalise on each other’s strengths and are not threatened by the other’s successes. You are inspiring young legends.
Keep going beautiful young people……even the “older “ folk enjoy learning from your victories….😊🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you very much for the kind words Mark! 👍😊
Good work guys...
Thanks Kevin! 😊🙏
Great job guy.....seeing you working on the Cruizer as a team...great stuff. Your dad must be so proud of you guys.
Thanks Sean thanks for following along!
Looks amazing hope you're dad love's every minute of it x😉

@@itsJackandMegan Lucky Ducks
Love your content guys Wish you all the best.
Cheers Tim and Trish. ♥️♥️♥️💝
Thanks guys!
Congratulations!🌅
Thanks so much mate!
Was great fun watching the build. Get it back to your Dad before you scratch it!!!
Looking forward to seeing more of your travels in the troopy. One more thing. Did you remember to shut the gate at the farm??
Congrats jack & Megan great video wish I never sold my fj55
Cheers Paul!
Loving your vlogs guys. One thing if I can say is be careful with your stove so close to the fuel filler. The fuel tank vent wont be too far away from it.
Would hate to see all your hard work burnt to the ground.
Very good point! Thanks for the tip. 😊
Good info guys....sooooo...what's Megan's project going to be?
Cheers Greg!
Megans new little project is organising and repainting the fit out in the Troopy for the next lap! 😅
I've just finished a fj40 short wheelbase and my fist build . As well i did it all my self at home and it cost me around $7000- and 1year , I also didn't pay anoth attention to panel work but hey it worked out OK and I'm happy with it. Love your build
That’s great Darryl!
I bet you in love with it just like we are with the fj all that time and effort!
I’m in car love! My dream car for sure.
A full nut & bolt restoration of a 40 where you just drop the keys and get back a perfect vehicle it's at least 40k€ in Europe and I have seen restorations up to 90K€! (Generally starting with a body in worst condition than yours).
After, being more reasonable another option is to only do what is necessary to do, to not touch anything fine and to split the work with a mechanic shop.
For example for my resto (also the FJ40 from my father ;) ) the shop was in charge of all the big work (removing body, sand blasting, fixing rust, paint, partial engine rebuild, suspension, etc.) and I was helping on the small things I could do with my skill and gear (seats, winch, electrics... not that much in the end). But the biggest part to allow a non specialized garage to do this work was that I was in charge of providing all technical documentation and finding information online for any blocking point, and lastly to provide all the parts. I ended up being very good to play with the Toyota EPC and finding parts both new from Toyota or NOS from the other side of the world, but to stay 100% OEM I probably spent hundred of hours doing that, I enjoyed it a lot but obviously would be a big cost for a shop to handle (and you can't control the choice of parts made).
In the end it costed me 15k€ of work from the garage (negotiated upfront) + 5-10k€ of parts.
Amazing series guys. A credit to all your hard work. The best part was your dads reaction. I know you said it wasn’t perfect but you’ve saved an aussie icon and a family treasure and the best part is it will be used and treasured for many years to come. Looking forward to the troopy tlc sessions.
Cheers Scott it will definitely be in the family for a very long time!
Im mostly surprised with the fact that you did it in 3 months. I'm 2 years into my car restoration build, but im not even close to being done. Great job guys!
👍
Well done guys I loved your build you should be so proud,
Thanks Craig appreciate it mate!
Absolutely a great job guys. Love the video as always.
I just wondering, Would you travelling around Australia with FJ if your dad allowing you to have FJ?
Stay safe xx
Thanks Nora! We would love to travel aus in the future but I would cost a fortune on fuel!
Love Ollie in the video's keep them coming guys
Ollie loves it!
Is it worth it? I bet it is. Look at what you've restored. It looks fantastic, plus all the sentimental value it will continue to create are priceless. 👍
Exactly right cheers mate!
You’s two did a fantastic job on the old girl
Thanks so much mate! We were stoked with how it all turned out in the end.
I have no intentions of restoring an old vehicle, I just watched because I enjoyed the story/narrative/journey or whatever, not even sure what I am trying to say but good job.
Thanks mate! It was a great story wasn’t it.
@@itsJackandMegan great story and warm honest sharing involving traditional family values - respect.
Visit QLD, hopefully have my next off road vehicle ready soon.
What a sight the golden light on that yellow. Thanks so much for taking us along in your journey. I so appreciate how real you guys keep it. It makes it so relatable and like, "hey if they can, I could too." I'm looking forward to the troopy episodes too and seeing you guys on the road again. And... Rottnest, I mean who doesn't smile when there's quokka's :)
No worries mate thankyou for following along we really Appreciate it 😊 we can’t wait to start our next journey lap 2.0!
Man you had me going at the end there I was waiting for you to pop the question. You two have become part of my Sunday u tube watch & I always enjoy every epp! Keep up the great work and I'm sure the troopy upgrade will be mint. Look forward to seeing you out on the road sooner rather than later showing of our wonderful country.
Thanks James! Appreciate it mate.
Let’s say you got out of it very cheap. You both need to take a bow because it looks good
Cheers Kevin!
Well done Jack and Megan, I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos, the FJ build has been no exception. In your previous vidoeo, the expression on your Dads face was absolutely priceless.
It was priceless he absolutely loved it!
Praise where praise is due ….great job !
Cheers Kevan!
Q and A
So much excited
Keep going
Thanks for watching mate!
Wow. $6000. What a bargain. The memories are worth so much more as was your Dads reaction. Well done to both of you and looking forward to see where life leads you next.
Cheers Damian the old mans reaction was totally worth all the hard work!
Morning Guys. Wasn't expecting a mention hahahahaha. Nice surprise. :) Once again. Love the presentation. Listening to you both is like sitting around with old friends. It came to me, the reason why everything that you do that appeals to me, and why it appeals to me, is because you are doing the stuff that I never had the opportunity to do and wanted to do. Anyways, you got yourself a new Patreon. Will do some sums and donate as much as I can. Love your work.
Morning mate! Haha it made our day seeing you on the road! Really appreciate your support, it means the world to us!
Toyota Land Cruiser 40 series 🇯🇵💪👍👆🎥😍👍
Two thumbs up for me guys
Thanks so much Peter! 😊👍
You should keep it and mod it
I think Jacks dad is too in love with it to let us keep it 😅🤣
@@itsJackandMegan pull the sweet daughter in-law smile
Awesome guys ... the best part of the build is the fact you shared so much of it ... even with people who arent in a position to be able to do something like that and you treat your viewers like they are there with you when your episodes come out ... this is one of very few channels i really look forward to ... so when you said No episode next week ... i folded my arms and got all huffy Bahahahaha ... and its great that your dad is so interested ... fantastic ... keep up the great work
Thanks so much for the kind words Macka!
The old man has been driving the car to work everyday he loves it!
Still the best by far on CZcams! Thanks for your honesty and openness. Thanks Megan for the countless hours spent in editing to give us, your audience, such a high quality program. And protect your relationship because together you are a great team. Always the highlight of the week watching your vlogs. Thank you Jack and Megan!

Guys guys this isn't a car ,it's a tough as 4x4 chasis with a tough 350 motor even my wife comes from a farm and she says why do you call it a car it's an off roader plus road land cruisers were never called cars that's just embarrassing to there build they still are strong to this day but harder to work on engine wise ,can ,can ,you please call it a truck ,as your troupee isn't a car love your build ,well done , cheers shaneo nelson nz 👍🍺
Thanks for watching Shane 👍
You done good guys, i would of wanted around 15k back in the day to do it, i can't imagine the emotions your Dad feels driving it again, it would be like a old friend you lost touch with or getting the team back together, looking forward to see what comes next, stay cool & groovy.
You said it perfectly mate exactly the feelings I think the old man had!
Well done , great to see the end product of such hard work…surprised of the cost (cheap) but I suppose you factor man hour costs would be another story.
You are so lucky Megan is so chilled and supportive , my Mrs would have absolutely no interest in doing something like this.
I noticed at the end you kept the original license plates , how good.
If I can be critical at all…sushi rice and kombucha in a can ?! Lol
Thanks for following along Trevor! Yes Megan had a lot of patience throughout the build 😂
Is the farm just north ofBallajura?
Near Bullsbrook 😊
@@itsJackandMeganbloody beautiful spot. I grew up near Toodyay , ur farm looks very similar
Yep relationships can be like that, but when you are destined to be together you get past it .
👍
Shut the gate!
