    They are best friends and both from the Netherlands. Look what the we in the US are missing.
    Mark Jansen (no relation) who started Epica was in a band with Floor called After Forever.
    Floor was a guest singer with the band Evergrey in the song "In Orbit". You should check that out. She also did a duet with Devin Townsend with her band ReVamp called Anatomy of a Nervous Breakdown: Neurasthenia. I am so glad you are liking Nightwish! :-)

    • @EnigmaTimGaming
      @EnigmaTimGaming Před 4 lety +4

      @NorthernLights ofDemons European here. I would quite like to see Nightwish take America by storm. Therefore your statement is incorrect, and an incorrect generalisation with undertones of prejudice, very civilised....

    • @EnigmaTimGaming
      @EnigmaTimGaming Před 4 lety +4

      @NorthernLights ofDemons And this is why people like you shouldn't be allowed keyboards. You just argued against your own point by taking your opinion and stating it as fact. YOUR opinion is that most European bands don't want to break America. The FACT is, any band who has any sense whatsoever would WANT to break the US market as that is what is going to most get their music out there for people to listen to.
      They might not like how the American media market works, but it IS the biggest and has the widest reach. You also have to bear in mind that most bands are managed and there is always someone behind the lines working the business aspect of a band. You better believe that THAT person wants the band in the American market.
      So please don't present your asshole as fact. Whoops, I of course mean, please don't present your opinion as fact. The world would be a better place if everyone did that. (and before you try to say I have presented MY opinion as fact, I haven't. This isn't my opinion, this is just how the world works, deal with it)

    • @EnigmaTimGaming
      @EnigmaTimGaming Před 4 lety +7

      @NorthernLights ofDemons Awwww, showing your lack of understanding again i see. What you seem to not understand is that like it or not, the American market is the gateway to the international market. A lot of popular culture comes from America. This is what I meant when I said they have the widest reach. If a band breaks the American Market then their music starts getting used in American media, movies television etc., which then puts that music into an international forum, moreso than any other countries media circus.
      I'm not saying that I like that it is this way, but it is. So again, if a band has any sense whatsoever (and most of them do, and if they don;t their management does) would WANT to break the US market as it will give them the widest reach, as I stated in my previous comment, but hey, you failed to grasp it, maybe this explanation helps :)

    Thanks For This reaction, It was one of my suggestions I presume. Of jou want to see more Epica check out The Phantom Agony, Chasing The Dragon and Cry For The Moon from the same concert (Retrospect). Or Consign To Oblivion from Live At The Zenith. For more Floor outside Nightwish check out Ayreon - Merlin's Will, The Valley Of The Queens or Everybody Dies from Ayreon Universe

      @@MrRockNRollLive Presently I am deep in with Sirenia, Blackbriar and Dark Sarah and oh yes Within Temptation (who sort of parallel Nightwish).
      I will leave those who are more adept with Epica to make proper suggestions. I just know that Floor Jansen and Simone Simon are among the elite. Those concerts are unbelievable, even if only vicariously viewed from afar via u-toob, they give me goose bumps and fill my emotions with tears of wonder.

    Floor sang more like this with her first band, After Forever. Look for Forlorn Hope or Monolith of Doubt. Unfortunately there are not so many good quality live versions.
