  • Why the Royal Arch is a presentation by Roy A. Wells, P.J.G.D. (England), which was first delivered at the Greater Atlanta York Rite Festival, May 13, 1989.
It looks at the 'what' as well as the 'why' of the Royal Arch and delivers a cogent and logical argument for why it is essential for every Master Mason.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Owing to a reported 'copyright infringement' in the background images (Which I don't believe to be true as all video content is taken from freely available sources), the section PASSING THE CHAIR has been deleted from this video. I apologise for this, but it is out of my control. The missing section had the following narration:
    "PASSING THE CHAIR
As we have seen, in the early period only those who had occupied the Chair of a Lodge could be exalted to the Royal Arch. In those days election for Mastership was held every six months from one St. John's Day to the next, i.e., St. John the Baptist on 24 June, or St. John the Evangelist on 27 December. In some Lodges, however, the Chair remained almost the prerogative of one Brother.
To avoid an evitable decay through lack of qualified Candidates for the Royal Arch a modified form of Installation, minus certain details, was introduced to enable Brethren who had not been in the Chair to enter. This process created "virtual" Masters, and by such means they were 'Passed the Chair' without having ruled over a Lodge. Subsequently, amendments were made that permitted Master Masons of twelve months standing to enter."

I like the name of your channel.👍🏻 I wonder if "The Quarrymen",(the Beatles first name.) was a nod to the same?

As a huge Beatles fan I am sorry to say that Quarrybank High in Liverpool was not named Masonically, unlike this channel. However, I personally love the crossover 🎸

The G is a spiral - pointing towards self.
The T (cross) are 3/4 lines emanating from a single point. Both hint towards you being God.
The G is the 7th letter of the alphabet.
The T is the 7th from the end.

Glad I found this channel, I recently became EA. Two master masons have mentioned to me Scottish Rite and York rite. But when the time comes I still have no idea which is better for my development.

Welcome, Brother, and fraternal greetings from Wokingham Lodge 8691 in Berkshire, England!
As an Entered Apprentice, you shouldn't worry too much about orders beyond the Craft. First, get to know the First Degree really well and enjoy it. If you haven't already, try to visit another lodge where they are performing an initiation so you can deepen your understanding of what you went through. The same with the Second and Third Degrees when you get to them. There is an awful lot to learn and discover in just the three Craft degrees (or Blue Lodge as you call it over in America). Once you become a Master Mason you can think about possibly joining additional orders but don't be in any rush. I can certainly identify with your enthusiasm. Not rushing it by joining too many things at once is advice I have to keep trying to follow myself!
All the best with your journey!

@@ukchristian28 brother thank you, I recently passed my EA. Awaiting my FC in the coming weeks. That’s true what you said, enjoy the moment and the degree I am in at the moment. I actually could have visited another lodge in December for an EA degree however family plans had already been made. But I will definitely visit a much as I can, because I do want to see what I went through. If someday I can visit abroad to Lodges in other countries that would be more than awesome! Thank you. And I hope our paths cross someday.

I don't know what this obsession is by some constitution to fast track the journey through the appendant bodies.
If your blue lodge work is not down to a T, then you have no business in these peripheral organisations.

I don't feel any Lodge should be fast tracking anyone regardless of their prestige, knowledge or any other extenuating circumstances. All on the level, all on the level.
