Carpenter Brut is a French darksynth artist. He’s mixing sounds from rock, metal, electronic music and horror films. His songs are mostly instrumentals but some have guest vocals. He’s joined on live performances by a guitarist and a drummer from a French metal band.
I was lucky to see Carpenter Brut twice. In 2016 in Paris and in 2018 in Poitiers, his hometown.

Mixing not only the sounds but the big movie elements from the 80's retro era together too. Dark, gritty, smoky settings, street racing gang leader vs anti-hero with shotgun storyline, 80's dance, trapped princess motif, bladerunner aesthetic, penultimate car chase to journey into space. I thought it was...awesome.
there is a follow up movie tied to this music video called BLOOD MACHINES, i think its a prequel and yes the same ladies are in the movie 👍👍
My son got me hooked on Carpenter Brut. And also Cult to Follow.
I enjoyed the synthwave style
Carpenter Brut is BADASS. One of my favorite synthwave artists. It's funny, I'm pushing 50 years old, but hot damn, it's like this genre was made for me...by people 25 years younger than me. Lol. Anyway, this is all about the moment, the feel of it. The story doesn't have to make sense, shouldn't make sense. Don't try to interpret it, don't try to dig for deeper meaning. It's about the raw energy. It's like the songs you'd hear in an 80's action or horror flick. It makes you push the gas pedal down a little bit more, go just a bit harder. You should listen to Hairspray Hurricane some time. It's just as amazing!

A road movie!
I havent seen Blood Machines to confirm any of this, but the gas mask character is an avatar of sorts i believe, and the lady on the ship is trying to rescue one of her own kind. Shes driving the car from the ship via the avatar.
No idea what that video was about.. good.. bad.. but the cars and music were cool.. 😆 and your comments
