I love how in Ares, Mark was always shown respect, like the best player you'll ever meet and everyone who knows him have nothing but admiration, it makes you think he's unreachable, someone you need to earn the right to meet, and they keep building up the expectations.
Until he finally shows up, and he's there, approachable, down to earth, smiling. He will accept you in your team just because you want to try football even if you played no sport before.
Just this simpleton kid that likes football.
Makes me think they made it this way for kids who are watching Inazuma Eleven for the first time have some sort of expectation for Mark. And for us who know og Inazuma, that know that the kid ain't that out of this world yet all they said about him is true.
I don’t think any of the ares version are better than the og. They don’t get as much development. Just cook continuations

@damnyoukarmaI haven't watched Orion yet, but definitely they overshine all the main characters in Ares a lot.
@damnyoukarma The Ares mcs are so bland and boring all the secondary characters overshine them.
They just have nothing to add for the story and even the trainer overshines them, the best part is just the characers from other teams including the og ones.
The only ones that can contest with their OG versions are Mark, Axel and Nathan. Everyone else is pretty much severely butchered.

@@pizzettealforno1Except you seem to be forgetting the fact that the events of Inazuma Eleven: Reloaded, Outer Code, Ares, and Orion take place on a *completely* different timeline. This means that the character growth for Nathan doesn't actually exist here except in the Football Frontier arc (season 1 of the OG trilogy).

Xavier - The fact we call him Xavier, not Hunter, and call the original “Other Xavier” should tell you.
Orion Mark was okay with hurting their opponents, that's not the Mark Evans we all know and love.
Basically all of the og inazuma eleven characters got done dirty in ares/orion. Both in character and in power level. Even if endou was powerful hes a plank of wood compared to his og version. Kidou got completely butchered to the point where he was just a slightly above average tactician and gouenji got taken out for most of the series and doesnt feel like himself anymore
I’d say the reason for this is because the OG Mark, Axel and Jude had character development over 3 seasons (as main characters). In Ares/Orion they are just side characters expect for maybe Mark, since he’s the captain of Inazuma Japan.
But I do get your point, it’s a bit frustrating. I do think it’s kinda funny they just wrote out almost all of the OG main characters like Shawn, Axel and Caleb.

They didn't got done dirty, more like they play a different role. They're not here center stage, they're paragons now, mentors to push the newbies so they get their dev in their show.

Ok Axel I get. Last Resort is based as hell. But Ares Mark? Really? First off, I know Mark is basically Goku in Ares with his status, but come on? Even if he was a faux main character in Orion (I swear he was more important than Sonny. Heck even Heath was probably more important than Sonny and I despise that guy Moore), nothing can beat his OG. However, at least Jude was right. His role in the Satan Gaul match is high-key one of my most favourite moments of his, but still gotta choose the original.

Axels story is just "How about we kick him in the balls in all 3 seasons with conflict that either might or does tale him off the team because of his family." At least when Erik had the threat of leaving over him, we can see the reason and what kind of impact that the injury is having on him. We sympathise with Erik more because we can see that it is entirely 100% out of his control despite his desire to continue fighting. And Erik isnt even on the main team in S3

I honestly love what they did with Saginuma in Ares. It shows that if it wasn’t for the Aleia Academy thing in OG, he would have just been a fun, theatric goober. It’s heartwarming to see the Aleia kids not be used for terrorism.
For me OG mark is better, but in terms of ability the Ares ones seems to win just because he is free from the plot, so he doesn’t need to take goals in every game.

Just recently I finished Ares (haven't gotten through orion yet) and I really got to say I really liked Mark and Xavier there, Mark really feels a lot stronger and like a better played plus I believe he has way cooler techniques.
Xavier's story was great for me in Ares, the double Xavier story made it so the match agaisnt the Alius would become one of my favourite matches in all of the franchise.
Maybe Hunter could be near the lvl of the og Xavier for me.
The others are pretty fine in Ares so far, I'll have to see what they are up to in Orion
Marks og version is mucho cooler imo how he has to learn everything trough trial and error etc

There is no one in Ares/Orion that match the OG with Xavier, Jude, Axel and Mark. If Orion wasn't rushed then maybe the characters would have been better. However introducing 5 new ones really butchered the whole story. No one really got any development when the actual World Tournament began. I did like the Asian preliminary rounds...

Ok, hot take time, Ares designs are cooler, sure you can have that. But, collectively, as a community, you sir, are wrong about Gouenji in the Classic series. Also the only other reason I havent watched Ares was cuz they ruined Fire tornado, Majin The Hand, The Pheonix, AND DIDNT GIVE GOD HAND A RETURN, Instead opting for SUPER God Hand.

Well technically speaking Ares and Orion are a different canon to the OG timeline since in Ares the whole Alius attack never happened iirc, but since Inazuma Eleven already deals with time travel Ares exists alongside the OG timeline anyway.
