Miguel Rincon plays the theorbo with a delicacy and lightness of touch that brings out the exquisite, sumptuous quality not only of the music of Visée & Kapsberger, but of the instrument itself. Musical opulence - a feast for the ears. Thank you, Miguel.
Man.... You really touched my heart and all i could wish is for the love to come forth and conquer all the still blind.... This music paired with the quality of your interpretation must come from the eternal heavens. Thanks for being an open vessel for gods spirit. May he+she bless you!!!
I hope the music and your sublime performance give you as much pleasure as you give the listener Maestro Rincón Thank you so much Blessings amd peace be with you always
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever will be leaving Him, we'll not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Beautful. I simply love the way that Sr Rincón is totally lost in the music and at one with his instrument as if they are a couple in love (as is appropriate for today - St Valentine's Day!)
I'm found of classical guitar and luth and it is really a transportation to hear you play like this. I have a complete set of hopkinson smith cd and it is a real pleasure to discover such marvellous and gifted musician play such repertoire. Thanks a lot. I love your artistical interpretation and your technicity.
Incredible performance and also props to Mel Et Lac for capturing it so beautifully and also props to the location managers for allowing the use of such a nice acoustic chamber.
¡Me has traído buenos recuerdos! Espero poder conocerte en algún concierto. ¡Un abrazo!
I think you've become my favourite Player of each Instrument that you play. Absolutely phenomenal Miguel, love this, your Chaconne, Canarios... What an utter pleasure to have people as skilled as you to listen to in the world =)
Absolutely beautiful! Addictive listening. Thank you very much for sharing. Any chance of sheet music for this interpretation anywhere? Dare I say for classical guitar?
You're right! Not in renaissance but in baroque french era they performed with the so called "inégalités" , unequal notes (surf on the web). They wrote equal quavers but performed unequal (dotted quaver + semiquaver). This performing style is known nowadays as swing and practiced in jazz music.

Wonderful, Miguel. You're my new favourite theorbo player!
Thanks a Lot dear Rob, I really appreciate that coming from you!!! Best wishes!!
And that means a lot coming from you, Miguel! Best wishes from Scotland!
Just got a notification from this video. So I decided to revisit this masterpiece. This is truly Majestic! I do give you props sir.
The earring gives him a added 65 percent HP
the most liked comment has nothing to do with his talents or the instrument sound. but ya, so true.
and probably some resistance to fire spells. +1 I dare to say

Muchas gracias Merve :-)
Che meraviglia! Non avevo mai sentito questo....... Miguel bravissimo!!

I also play theorbo, and this video is my reference point for what a theorbo should sound like, and how to play with elegant conviction

Bravo, excelente interpretación. El Theorbo es lindo
I’d love to see the real time MRI of his Brian while he plays. He seems to have the least strain or nerves while performing lute.
D'accord Monsieur Patrick
Absolutely entertaining! Wished I could set and listen in person.

Great performance, man! Love therbo.

Amazing.
Love it, This video made me want to have such an instrument! Just one question, the first song isn't Visée's "Chaconne"?
❤❤❤❤❤
Love it! 😊

Exquisite
"Passacaille" (Robert de Visée, manuscript Vaudry de Sauzenay, 1699)

And how long ago was this instrument in vogue? 300, 400 years.
Not that long. From about 1590 to around 1725 or a bit later, so maybe 150 years.
Great
looks so hard to tune strings.

Brillante
