    Hey Martin. I love how you are giving away all the information for free, but basically you're really showing how much time, effort and value you put in to your work. Then, the only people who would do this are professionals who getting paid for it or an amateur obsessed with doing it themself. This only shows why someone would pay to get the job done if they wanted it done right.

      Next best option is what I did in my garage to rattlecan a car. Go to home depot, buy sheets of plastic, hang it on all sides and ceiling. Throw water down on the ground to keep dust from getting kicked up. If you want ventilation, take two box fans and two central air AC filters, cut two square holes, tape the fans to the plastic, tape filters to the fans. Boom at home paint booth for like 45 bucks.

      Because since its aerosol, as you're laying down the paint it's a constant sheet of material. If you let off and spray again solvent comes out that propels the paint. It leaves a thin area and the paint isnt bonded in one whole complete coat. You see when you pain auto body parts from bare you wrap the paint around the corners and it locks the paint on. This is why when you pay for cheap paint jobs on cars they only last a few years.

    What about the surface tension getting damaged when sanding the helmet

    • @TheScottishSprayer
      @TheScottishSprayer Před 4 lety +5

      Yeah, Never do this people!!! Especially with rattle cans that contain a higher amount of thinner/dilutant just to get them to come out of the can. I've been Fully qualified painter for years and Would never put my life at risk wearing an 'altered' helmet. I've done a few that are just for decorative purposes. If image is more important than safety, then bin your helmet and get a cool haircut.

      @@TheScottishSprayer I was wondering about that. Would like to customize my helmet but have been wary of it, since all methods found ultimately affect the integrity of the helmet, be it by sanding or using paint that can be corrosive. And almost no video makes mention of this!!! I wonder about stickers though? In your experience, would sticker adhesive damage a helmet's integrity, for example, using duct tape all around?

    • @tonemiester
      @tonemiester Před 4 lety +1

      The Scottish Sprayer so basically it’s the sanding that damages the surface tension because I’m not very aware to painting helmets, or it’s the paint?

    • @TheScottishSprayer
      @TheScottishSprayer Před 4 lety

      Yeah I'd trust a sticker more I think but to be honest if the design is that big of an importance I'd recommend saving for a) a top end helmet with a design you love. Or b) a professional paint job by a helmet designer. (Someone who specialises in helmets only, and knows the specs of paints, reactions and tolerances) I follow someone on Insta who does a load of pro drivers helmets.

      alex DANA420 It’s an knockoff for sure. For all intents and purposes it’s a good helmet to experiment on before dropping in on a 400$ lid.

    ETOE i like ur videos much but plx make music volume a little bit lower, cuz when i hear u when u speak its good and after i got blast by music...
    And the edges of masked plastic would look better if u remove the plasics.

    That helmet looks.... Sketchy, the construction I mean, doesn't look solid enough to protect. You in a crash. Looks. Like a lot of the cheap ones on wish.
    Good job on the paint job dude. Please warn people to. Check what they are doing with the oem though some sprays can damage the thermoplastic of cheap helmets.
