Wild Camping Trip - Does It Get Any More Boring.

- Early summer overnight wild camping trip walking out from the 'Bridge of Orchy' to our camp spot next to 'Loch Dochard'.
This was a long time coming pre-arranged meet up with, Jim - 'Bored Man Outdoors'.
Also the chance to have a couple of beers, chat about all things wild camping and CZcams at one of Scotland's most accessible yet remote locations.
Later joined by, Murray - 'Scotland Mountains' where we shared stories, midge repellent and coated peanuts long into the night.
The morning was amazing with mist across the Loch making this a particularly special wild camp.

It has probably been said already but!!!!!!! If you add up to 10% water to your meths,,, it still lights normal but doesn't leave the black soot all over you cooking pots , pans , kettles. Take care out there.
Never heard of that so will give it a go, many thanks for sharing. Atb
@@RS.Outdoors yes it works... I just nearly fill up my container with meths , then fill up the last little bit with water.. the only down side I have found is , when camping in sub zero temperatures it can take a cpl of seconds longer to light ( obviously because of the water content) ... Though no big issue, as I now use the soto extendable lighter...Take care out there.

Great video Ray. I've never been to that loch it looks a fantastic spot. Last weekend camped at summit of Stob Ghabhar and the midges were out at 1080m too! ATB Derek

Not bioethanol but, quite a few years ago, the only source of meths in Kirby Steven was at a builders supply. Cheapest meths I ever bought but terrible until I remembered that the standard stuff has added water. I added water to the builders meths and it was brilliant. At a guess, the steam might help the meths vaporise better. It might work with bioethanol but stand well clear if you decide to experiment. Great camping spot.
