@@Widgie The only attention needed is ours. We don't even realize that Definitive edition UI and QoL are far inferior to original game, and tons of stuff like Chat, Elo rating, match history, match making now substituting the room ranked supremacy games opportunity... tons of bad QoL unpolished stuff.
We can't even search a person and add them!Nor see if someone is online!!! And we are talking of attention ... to this?
This is the basics, but what I just said we don't give attention to is the fundaments over which all of this grows.

Great content mate. I've been playing AOE3DE for like 1 month and I'm totally into it. Sadly, the player base is kind of unimpressive and watching ur materials and their quality I expected this vid to have 50-100k views. Was pretty shocked when realised it got ~1.2k. So sad, that RTS era has passed :(

It’s a sad thing that the RTS genre doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves however I do enjoy the cult following a close nit community. Thanks for the kind words man :)

Hey Widgie, thanks for the thorough guide. I think these strats work well against human opponents and more tailored for 1v1.
However, against AI which pumps out a lot of artillery thanks to factories and for team games or treaty games, I find the following combo to be the most robust: 1) 15-20 Mantlets to "tank" that cost 75wood+125gold 2) 20-40 Aenna that cost only 100food and 3) 10-15 Cannons that cost again 100wood + 300gold. Gold permitting, I try to get 10-20 Prowlers in there as well.
Basically, I disagree with your not using Mantlets at all... without Mantlets, I actually had my entire base taken out by the AI on Hard in a 2v2v2v2 4-team match up.
Basically, both Aenna and Prowlers have relatively low HP or they bunch up usually which makes enemy artillery just so dangerous. I found out the hard way that having just 5 Light Cannons and 10 Mantlets is not enough. 20 Mantlets and AT LEAST 10 Light Cannons were more sufficient. This is given that my AI partner was usually dumb and not really directly helping my assaults, so I was usually up against BOTH 2 armies of the last remaining alliance all the time, so I needed "tankiness". And Mantlets were very very good for that.
Also, I forego and didn't train ANY cavalry. So I'm thinking of actually removing those two cards since effectively, I used no cav in my new combo and still won.
Lastly, I noticed that Haudenosaunee eco is very FOOD-based... somehow I end up with 10K+ food but almost never break 5K on Gold or 2K on wood because of near-constant production of Light Cannons+Mantlets that eat up most of the wood and Gold.
I also noticed that Haudenosaunee eco is very gold-starved. Only 1 card to help out (and it DEFINITELY did) in 1st age, and that's it. I'm actually thinking of taking up the Trade Market boosting card and other cards to boost gold income and longevity of the mines. I'm just SO starved for gold since each Light Cannon is 300 gold apiece. So the usual 10-15 needed for breakthroughs are like 3K-4.5K in gold that needs to be available and saved up.

You’re very welcome! Yeah playing against AI can be very different to a 1v1 competitive situation. Appreciate the extra information :)

how does one manage mid commerce - mid fortress economy? As soon as my initial rush loses tempo and i try to go fortress. My economy is sooooo slow and crap :'( The market only gives hunting dogs and tier one gold upgrade. I need to invest in a mill/estate before i can actually boost my economy techs

You need to make sure to have constant villager production, taking water can be good as well and also the TP line if your opponent turtles

@@Widgie Update: Haudo are frigging awzum!! I have been doing the FF build order -- going straight into forest prowlers and musket riders and some kanye horses. I notice my economy is usually trash however the units are so strong it makes up for it. I played an Inca -- my forest prowlers schooled the jungle bowmen, and the musket riders killing chimu runners. I like this tasty civ omnomnomnom

cause Musks are decent/good against cav, especially if they are that close. (and remember that europeans also can upgrade their musks in the arsenal so that they are better against cav.

I’m not so sure, I think there’s quite an ELO inflation issue, my ELO is probably 100-150 inflated

@@Widgie Copy that. I wish that the system was public instead Xbox games studios and Forgotten Empires and Tantalus Media are trying everything to remove the amazing Elo rating ladder that we had with Elo rating Jp community or also with the new cool Dori created one...
It's silly how degrading is the level of games today due to finance push and also new generations that do not understand a damn hell of QoL and quality... zero.
