Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing. One of the Internet's top tier memes and today we expand it. Normally it's just about minigames but in today's challenge we see if you can win every board in Mario Party Superstars by doing absolutely nothing.

I admire that you chose to restart the attempt when facing the Skeleton Key softlock, but I also wouldn't mind if you decide to make that an exception and either use the second item or back out of the item menu.
I find it very ironic that a big problem on Space Land was being forced to buy Skeleton Keys since in Mario Party 2, Luigi’s AI favored buying Skeleton Keys.

@@shaggy8580 Because in both this video and the Kirby Without Jumping videos, Keys have been CmeeCraft's mortal enemies.
It would have been easier to simply make an exception to the keys like you did with chance time, just move the joystick to select the second item you have and use it.
Since it means that otherwise he's stuck, it fits the same purpose as the chance time exception. Should've been the go to solution.
I feel like the skeleton key softlock adds just enough extra frustration to the challenge to make it more intense. People should take this as a lesson not to idle around.

I'm all for ragging on Nintendo when they deserve it but this makes no sense
@@dullicecream all I’m saying is, older Mario parties felt like they’d last until the heat death of the universe.
Personal opinion: You already need to make exceptions for (1) just making the game playable at all by selecting the default option and (2) chance time, so I think it's acceptable to avoid the soft lock at the keys.
I completely agree, seems pretty silly considering that Woody Woods and Horror Land ALSO feature keys, at a shop that is much closer than on Space Land.
fun fact. in early mario parties, characters had a favored item which they would buy more often if they were AI than other items

Edit: Damn, this one is brutal. If only you had save states like in the Mario Party 2 video. Also, I feel like for the keys it should be fair game to just select the next item in line or if there's none, just back out an roll the dice. It's really the same situation as Chance Time, so if you're willing to make an exception there, I feel like doing it with the keys too is perfectly reasonable.
0:11 Being able to beat that minigame as the person in the barrel is worthy of an award, though beating that minigame as the person in the barrel *while also* doing nothing will put you in the hall of fame!
To save time and sanity, I would recommend just backing out in the case of getting a skeleton key first. It is pretty clearly not really doing anything (game wise) to do that.
Yea, agreed. I'd say he should add a caviat that, in case pressing A does nothing, he can press B, or whatever the button for backing out of the menu is to free himself from the softlock
A version of this challenge that would probably be slightly easier but more fitting with how the boardplay works would be the "mashing A challenge" where you just exclusively push the A button and nothing else, for your own health though using a turbo button on a third party controller I'd say would be fine.

Something cool is when you do nothing in an online game at the shop, when the timer runs out you'll leave the shop without buying anything
Fun challenge if you feel like it:
Tropical island no bridge
Spaceland no passing though center
Birthday cake no buying stars
Woody woods no items
Horror land no boos
Tropical Island is proabably the easiest one since you can just land on happenings by farming Custom Dice Blocks.
@@ninfan6434 yah I originally wanted no items, but I didn't want to do duplicates. Besides the first one being the easiest kind of makes sense anyways, and at least taking out the option to go to boo when everyone else can makes things slightly more difficult
Playing online gives you a time limit on turns before just making a choice for you. You may be able to actually play a full game without an input at all
I think you should have made an exception for the Skeleton Key, to move the cursor on Item 2.

I remembered playing Mario party 1 emulated and the CPUs would always plant strawberries, but most of them never got a star or coin, so they were wasting coins.

Most people doing such a challenge would just say the Skeleton Key softlock doesn't count and ignore it. You have a lot of patience and dedication to restart instead.
The Skeletons Keys and Kirby Keys have teamed up to make your challenges as hard as they can.
My favorite Mario Party is SuperStars because of how simple things look and it's not one of those car based games

14:45 Nonsense. If you can't do one action, you are still forced in-game to do the other, to proceed as you want Luigi to no matter his lack of active strategy. It's no different pressing right to use another item as it is pressing A to roll dice and scroll text. Softlocks _don't_ exist here.

CPUs always do questionable things regardless of difficulty, I have seen master difficulty CPUs waste their custom dice block by selecting a number less than the number required to reach the star despite being within range of it and having enough coins
Yeah CPU difficulty only affects how good they are at minigames

If skeleton keys are softlocking you, don't apply that rule to item usage
