This was straight false advertising.
Everything shown in the commercial besides the skateboarding is completely possible and has happened. It's about game developers making apps compatible for the Kinect to do. It's not false at all. Please actually use the Kinect before opening your mouth man.

almost. I don't have it myself (I don't even have an xbox for that matter, I know, I feel like I'm missing out so much) but I played it a lot at my friend's house, it definitely works well, I have to admit. but it doesn't work AS great as showcased in this video. it works well, but there is a bit of latency (I can understand that) and the tracking isn't the most accurate. otherwise it works great and I had a lot of fun playing the games, it's just that it doesn't work AS great as it was showcased.

I was talking about the 360's since it is the one represented in this video (but not even in it's final form #references ). the one's kinect is definitely better than the 360. the tracking is improved and the latency is smaller. pretty much what this video promised with the 360 version. only problem is there aren't so many games on xbox one's kinect I think and the xbone isn't backwards compatible. dammit microsoft.

It really is amazing that Microsoft made this trailer and put it out there. You know what this feels like, it feels like a pitch demo, like something that would only be seen internally to pitch ideas to executives but not actually shown to the public since it's just hypothetical ideas. But then they showed it to the public.

This trailer actually proved microsoft's point of having no controller. But most pf the things showed here never happened. Theu also created a siri like feature called milo. That wouldve been great but they cancelled it. What a shame.

My cousin showed me this commercial back in 2009 and I wanted a kinect so bad. I never ended up getting one, and I'm glad I didn't now that I see it wasn't as well as it was advertised

I have the Kinnect and this is one amazing piece of technology. The games are mega fun and they can actually knock the wind out of you pretty fast. I warmly recommend this to everyone.

This and virtual boy should be remembered as the biggest failures in the videogame industry. They offered this, and selled an eyetoy 2.0 jajajajaja i still remember how excited people was about this.

The guy compared it to the virtual boy, which was an INSTANT failure, both critically and financially, so much so that it was pulled off the shelves in like a month or something, and it's entire game library can be held in one hand. Yeah, comparing the kinect to the virtual boy, that's totally a rational comparison.
The Eyetoy just detects the big balls from the ps move controller, and its a webcam aswell, shitty tbh
