"Hello youtube"

Pink Lion Gaming love the HELLO CZcams 👍
Thanks for visiting my channel!
Yeah, I do this too!
Hi Felix ! I wonder when Victorinox offering you a proper job in there developing branche. You make everything better on the SAK ! Thanks Felix for another usefull modification.
i think the most of the trick Victorinox knows allready. They received every day emails with proposals to improves the knife...i am sure!
Felix Immler
He works in their Job Security branch lol
We need to buy 1000’s of SAKs now lol.
Felix you are awesome my friend!
@@bigfootbushcraft7063 lol really !? Well then he is in the right place 😁
@@Veldvaardigheden That was a joke. Job security = his videos will make sure that Victorinox never goes out of business.
Excellent modification. I wish that victorinox include in its catalog. Thanks Felix.
This is my wish too!
Excellent modification! I've always been disappointed by the wire stripper.
I agree...
Genius idea. I have been struggling with the wire stripper and never occurred to me to grind it. Perfect idea. Thank you very much Felix.
Thanks a lot for your positiv feedback!
Its easy , open the big Blade, put the wire in the notch, fold down the big Blade on the wire and turn. Then you can strip it of .
I simply can’t get enough of your videos. you are a detailed driven person.Great role model
Thanks a lot for this wonderful feedback!
For decades they called it wire stripper, but it never was. Finally you made a workable tool of this miraculous 🇨🇭 notch.
Thank you very much!
Danke Hans Peter!
"Now I am happy!" Great vid as usual Felix. This one is for more hardcore SAK users, but I still enjoyed learning this trick! Give your cameraman a raise in pay, he's excellent!!
Thank you so much Andi. I will tell him!
I like this, and I also grind the inside of the bottle opener to 90 degrees to use as a ferro rod striker ( doesn't fold shut like the back of a saw blade does)
that's a good argument!
That's, actually clever.
nice. I usually just grip the saw tight with index and thumb or you can even put pressure on the teeth with your thumb. no pain, no gain. lol
I usually just use the awl.
I like how you format your video Felix: you have an introduction and tell me first what you are going to do. So that I don’t have to watch the whole video if I’m not interested. Unlike other videos on yt. But, don’t worry because I watch all of your videos to the end. Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks re:sak
Thanks a lot for your valuable hint!
I simply can’t get enough of your videos. you are a detailed driven person.Great role model
Thanks a lot for this wonderful feedback!
Genius, Felix! I'll try to do that with a triangular file.
That will work!
Yes, I was going to suggest that also... since I don't have a bench grinder either. :-(
Also, you can use chainsaw files to put serrations on a knife blade, though I prefer the plain edge for most cutting tasks.
This is the most useful modification for me. This is something I will try in the future 100%
Excellent tips, Thanks Mr. Felix
Thanks a lot my friend!
Endlich wieder Freitag - endlich wieder ein Felix Video ! Vielen Dank, großartig.
Vielen Dank lieber Elmar!
Very, very smart and creative. Thank you Felix. Tchau :)

Thanks a lot for your funny comment!
Great idea! I didn't have a grinder so I used files. It took longer but it got the job done. Thanks!
Thanks for your comment!

Good tip Felix. Thank you for the video.
Thanks a lot for watching Joe!
Simply effective,nicely done Felix.
Stay safe out there
Thanks a lot brother!
Great modification, Felix! It makes the wire stripper more like the one on my Leatherman. I took your advice and bought a Huntsman. It is very nice. I wish it used the hook from the Compact, with the nail file on the edge. But I am happy. I am thinking of a small modification to the can opener, just sharpening the small straight edge so I will have a hooked blade for opening packages. 👍
Super idea!!
a great modification - thanks
Thanks a lot for watching!
I always wondered why it was a dull notch. I never thought to grind an edge on it. Thank you so much for sharing these videos to teach us tips, tricks and mods. It's made me look at these amazing knives in a whole new perspective and given me so much more respect for them. Danke sehr!!
Thanks a lot for this wonderful feedback!
@@FelixImmler With your vast knowledge and experience with SAK's I would like your opinion on the larger "swiss tool" by victorinox that folds open into pliers. Unnecessarily large and clunky, or vulnerable asset? It USED to be my favorite (I like the larger handle for my hands, being 195.6 cm tall) but I hadn't realized just how much can be done with the standard SAK until watching your videos.
That notch isn't exactly dull. Look up the video I posted in response to this one by Felix. (I love Felix's work, by the way.)
Very cool Felix!
Thanks a lot Jose!
Good stuff, thankyou Felix
Thanks a lot for watching!
Gud'n Felix! Mit max. 3 Lagen funktioniert das Abisolieren schon. Man klemmt den Draht in den Abisolierer, klappt die Klinge drauf und dreht etwas. Schon isser nackig! Vor allem mit den 58ern klappt das prima! Frohe Ostern und Gesundheit an alle!
Ja, ich kenne diesen Trick. Danke für's Kommentieren!
Thanks Felix ! Another great Swiss Army knife hack !
Thanks a lot Paul!
Very handy thing to have on a victorinox and the fact you can use it as a mini cutting blade for chords is even better, brilliant video and thanks for sharing 👍🛠💎🍻
Thanks a lot for your comment!

Haaa ha haaaa, thank you Sara!
Well Felix another well done video tip.
Thanks a lot Kris!!
The good news is that i truly enjoy your videos, and i love my Victorinox more and more with each improvement. That is impressive considering i fell in love with my first tinkerer model 40 years ago. Thank you Felix. The bad news is, if i like you this much, you might be a bit of a Victorinox geek. Or was THAT the good news? Either way, Thanks again Felix you rock!
Thank you very much! Greetings from Switzerland.
Cool hack! Thanks!
Thanks a lot Jay!
Perfect Idea, thank you. Ralf
Glad you liked it!
Great modification
Thanks a lot Jon!
Good video Felix 👍💪

Vielen Dank mein liber Freund! Ich wünsche Dir und deiner Familie auch schöne Ostern!
Good one Felix, gonna try with my dremmel. Thanks.
Yes, that will works too!
You are truly the best. just yesterday I tried to use the wire stripper of victorinox and I realized that it doesn't work very well! congratulations for the video good life!
Thanks a lot Nicola!
Wow Great job brother thank you for your knowledge and expertise my Vicktorinox is worth 100x more with all of your modifications it is a much better tool thank you my brother
that's nice to hear ... thanks
Wow Felix, what a good idea in modifying the wire stripper! It's too bad that Victorinox didn't consider this modification! Otherwise let's face facts, it's only a notch with little use!
Yes, i will tell them. But i am sure they know this mod allready.
Proste i działa brawo 👏👏👏
Thanks a lot Mati!
I did this mod today but I used a good quality file as I don't own a bench grinder. It really works!!
Super. Thanks a lot for this hint!
Very Good!
Thanks a lot Marco!
Thank you Felix I'm going to do that
Good luck John!
Thank you Felix. Another great mod. Victorinox should hire you to improve their product in the many areas they missed to make a perfect sak. Like many others, I really wish Victorinox can incorporate a pocket clip to their sak one day.
Yes. that's my wish to, that they make a pocket clip!
@@FelixImmler Perhaps Victorinox is concerned there may also be equally as many users who do not like the pocket clip. So if Victorinox can tweak the scales to accommodate the addition of a pocket clip as an optional accessory for those who want it. Similar to the Leatherman Free serious. Surely it can't be that difficult for Victorinox? Please, Victorinox are you listening?
Wieder mal eine klasse Idee. Werde ich auf jeden Fall mal an einem meiner Werkstatt-Vics ausprobieren. Wünsche geruhsame und schöne Osterfeiertage. VG aus dem Saarland. Rainer
Danke und Grüsse ins Saarland!
Great idea. Keep them coming as I have viewed most all your videos (that are in English). You dipped the tool in the water to save the temper. Pretty short dip unless the water is really cold.
Thanks a lot for your hint!
Guten tag Felix, I think the original intention of Victorinox was for the blunt slot feature to be for just for insulation removal after cutting through with a knife blade. Your modification is much improved complete solution.
I unfortunately lost my SAK to the security at Gatwick Airport about 5 years ago - I wasn't aware it was lurking in a fold in the bottom of my Victorinox rucksack and they spotted it on X-Ray. I said, "Oh there it is, thanks very much, I thought I'd lost it..! Then they confiscated it and gave me a receipt. Would have been £50 to request return of it and I regret I never did. Hence finding your channel while researching to belatedly select a replacement. I think it was at least 30 years old and comparable to the Ranger. It had a name on it like Matilda or similar..? I miss it..!
I used to polish-up the scratches from coins and keys on the scales with Solvol Autosol. Also good for returning the blades to mirror finish after unavoidable sharpening scratches. I use different grades of stones & wet and dry sandpaper taped on a really flat block of carbon fibre and finally crocus paper before the metal polish.
Am enjoying the series ferry much - sank you and vell done..!
Sehr coole Idee, darauf bin ixh noch nicht gekommen, werde das aber bei meinem Messer übernehmen! 😎 Danke für das Video :)
Danke für's Reinschauen und Kommentieren!
Super!!
Thanks a lot!
1:08 I believe you can use the tip of the large blade to cut it off. You just pin the wire between the notch, the SAK body and the large blade, then rotate until the coating is cut (notice that these two tools are placed always at the opposite sides of all SAKs to allow this).
Thanks a lot for your tip!
@@FelixImmler I feel stupid now noticing this has been mentioned already. Nice channel by the way, so glad I found it!
ottima modifica ,, un saluto Felix!
Grazie per aver visitato il mio canale!
I’ve stripped wire with the unmodified notch on the SAK. I used the small knife blade to cu through the insulation, then used the notch on the bottle opener to push the insulation off the wire. But your modified notch looks as though it would work with more different sizes of wire. And it definitely seems like a good way to cut cordage.
Some one else has done this on CZcams about a week ago looks good to thanks pal
Thanks a lot for your comment!
Early riser? I love to hear the rooster!!! Stay healthy and frohe Ostern🐇
Danke Jeff!
cool, schraddel ich in mein Outrider auch mal rein, danke für den Tip, liebe Grüße!
Danke mein Freund!
Nice you showed how to dress the wheel, it's a forgotten skill in some places.
Me parece muy buena idea esa modificación.. 👍
Thanks a lot!!
I use the wire stripper with the knife. open knife, place wire in wirestripper (bottle opener) the close knife over the wire.
Thanks for your tip!
I have a Champion [one layer less than the later Swiss Champ] that I had a cutlery store man cut a bevel into the curved inside of the Cap Lifter blade. Cuts thru larger gauge insulation, then the smaller notch can strip the insulation off. Blade still functions fine as a bottlecap popper.
