@@sunilsiriwardana5271 I’m from USA, being here about 30 something years and I have seen people from all over the world here speak broken English we cannot even understand, and even they go to a Universities and get even a PHD..so many Chinese students cannot speak good English…so what we can do is to get a translator if we get honest leaders..who can build up this fallen country… Jaya Wewa

All answers were high level and text book stuff. One thing I admired was AKD speaking in Sinhala when others are in English Language. Good lessons to "Kaputas Go have" and Bandula facing Russian media and explaining the AEROFLOT issue, not managing present and past tenses mixingup without a shame. Pronounced incorrectly most of the words and with grammatical errors.

Yeah, that's true. Anura explains anything in a very systematic way. If they have someone thats can do the same in English, it would be ideal. Chathuranga is good, but he needs more experience.

As one gentleman pointed out above, please give them some time. I am sure they will deliver much more than the other parties who had ruined our country. Anura is a seasoned campainer and he is a walking dictionary. Please do not expect miracles overnight since the country is already against the wall. To turn around things with good and transparent governance it will take 5 - 10 years to reap the benefits. They have a vision for the nation and they will do it. At least the future generations will benefit. Best of luck NPP.

I like the explanation given by AKD on the three avenues open for education, to reiterate if I got it right, government education, private institutions and support to go overseas. Just to add on to private education i would suggest the University Grants Commission be the main regulating body to set standards for entry and quality of education.

It is unfortunate that NPP is trying to keep the same strict university admission process and make misery of our school children. We desperately need a university entrance system that is holistic! Something that is not just based on getting the highest z score in a written exam to enter the best undergraduate program. The current system put lot of stress on our students as well as parents yet make tuition masters millionaires, and so popular that they come into politics ( Bandula and Grero). No one will touch this topic! Its really sad....
I myself went through that system and now in the USA teaching students over here. In USA, even state universities charge students fees, but only from people who's annual income is above a certain limit. The university admission process is holistic. The poor are provided Federal student aid (not student loans, these are aids). Armed forces personnel are also provided grants for university education, so there are no " අට පාස් ආමි කාරය " in the US.
I doubt anyone will change the current system.

Very impressed with NPP facing the public about their economic policies, shows they are genuinely interested in addressing the deep economic woes of SL. Some suggestion: Is NPP economic policy available in English? Are there practitioners who have domestic and international experience in economic management in (or advising) the economic panel? Are they available for questioning and how? (web forums, emails etc). Foreign investment policies to fast track $ inflows and technology transfer inwards? Will the Constitution be amended to facilitate current barriers like legal protection and land rights for foreign investors? Profit repatriation and taxation? Taxation of local businesses and other invectives other than state facilitation? These need to be thought through and clarified please.
