It’s really simple though, Dak is not good under pressure. That is a problem that a lot of humans get. It’s like his mind goes south and he is so focused on making the right play and not making a mistake. That he doesn’t allow himself to just play free.

How can so many people keep defending him when he put up a QBR below 50 on almost half his games. When you say “one of the best offenses in the league” are you basing that on points? If you pull out the turnovers and points the defense generates, is it even still close? How can you have a league leading offense and defense and still lose to WASHINGTON’s third string? All roads lead to Dak. Stop looking at his season stats and start watching him ACTUALLY play. Watch how often he throws into traffic with another receiver open. Watch how often he stares down his guy. Watch how often he throws barely catchable passes that receivers have to stop the route for or stretch out for. Watch how often he overthrows down the field or throws behind crossing routes.
Eli manning threw 20 ints and won a superbowl, against the 16-0 patriots. Then he threw 16 and did it again. Is that really the mythical quality you think he needs??

The problem with Dave’s argument is that Dak’s contract limits the options the Cowboys have put better talent around him. When Dave or the others name quarterbacks that won a superbowl with great rosters, many of those QBs were either minimum backups, on their rookie deals, or they were on the last years of an outdated contract and the salary cap went up. Therefore, Dak getting his contract is preventing him from getting the help he needs. If a QB is midtier, they should get a midtier amount of the salary cap 8-10% as that number goes up. If a QB can actually carry a roster (Mahommes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert), then they should reset the market. Otherwise, the QB deal will hamper the Team and the QB will struggle to win w/o enough help. 🤷🏾♂️
This. 49ers & Eagles aren't paying their QBs $40 million.
Dak is currently the 9th highest payed QB in the league and after this year he will drop further. Dallas had like the 3rd most cap space going into the season and signed nobody.

You can't say dak didn't really have people around him when mahomes don't really have that either. He had to do what he had to get there. And he won because of his decision makings by himself. I think my biggest issue with Dak is that he’s practically been on one of the most talented rosters his entire career. The Cowboys have for the most part had a great offensive line and running game his whole career and a competent defense that recently became elite. His receiving corps might not be the most flashy but I think it’s been shown by other QBs that if you’re talented enough you can make it work with a competent corps. There’s also the fact that Dak has had five winning seasons as a starter and made the playoffs four times yet has not even made it past the divisional round. I don’t think Dak is bad, if anything he’s a good QB that for whatever reason underachieves.
They can't build a good enough roster around dak when he counts 49mil against the cap next year

It’s gonna take a pay cut the highest salary percentage allocated to a qb was Tom Brady in 2021 with around 15%. You don’t win superbowls being a high paid qb. You have to take a pay cut or be on a rookie deal.

3 of the 4 QBs in the conference championships are on rookie contract deals. This allows these teams to go out there and get good o lines, receivers, defense etc. You pay Dak 40 million which is 20% of the salary cap and there is less money for these extra weapons. The window opens for these teams with rookie contact QBs to win.

I’m a Cowboys fan. Dak is too good to get rid of and not good enough to elevate the team around him. Regardless of how we feel about him, his contract ensures he will be with us for at least 2-3 more years. Our FO could have done a much better job of putting pieces around Dak to help him succeed, but we cut players and went bargain bin shopping in free agency. Is what it is.
How can you put pieces around him? If he can’t elevate players with his plane when he gets pressured or rattled, he makes mistakes too many mistakes. Flacco yes but just like Baltimore's previous Superbowl with Trent Dilfer it wasn't about the QB. As long as the QB didn't lose the game they were gonna be fine. When Rey Lewis announced that was gonna be his final season I knew right then they were gonna win the Superbowl and even bet on it.

All Cowboys fans knew that if Dak threw an INT against the 49ers they would lose. (Of course it did not help that Maher’s kicking had an effect on play calls.) But I strongly believed that if Dallas played as well as they did against the Bucs, they would have won.

You know what I’ve noticed, they never pull up film to illustrate what they’re talking about. I think the show is all for ratings and not actually delineating what you’re talking about. They could’ve showed a film of Prescott missing wide open receivers on his interception plays.

For the most part, Dallas makes no adjustments and as a basic football fan you can see..Dallas main routes are slants and stick routes (comebacks) if that’s not there , the next read is the check down I.e pollard. They never move the pocket and never run the ball when they have the lead..the ratio is almost like 8:2 or 9:1

I agree with Dave that you don't have to be an elite qb to win the super bowl but that doesn't mean Dak can win one. Nick Foles wasn't elite but he also didn't fold under pressure or the bright lights. Dak has proven he does time and time again. This was his 7th year. Dak has only won 2 playoff games and it was the ones I thought he would win. Buc were trash this year and first time was the Seahawks and that year they weren't the old Seahawks. They didn't look as good as years past and I knew the Cowboys would beat them. Other than that, Dak has lost every game I thought he would. They want Dak to do too much and he can't in a big time game. He folds every single time.
Dak can win a Super Bowl but the problem with Dak is he is the reason they lose games and unless that changes they never will. Same thing happened with Romo. Romo was amazing except when he wasn't and was the reason they'd lose.
Not a cowboys fan in anyway. But they have 3 weapons on offense 2 big threats and 1 pocession guy who is a good RZ target. Once Pollard went down they lost 1 of the 2 threats they had and it was the only running threat which makes it alot harder because the game becomes 1 demonsional .
