Wow, I see a lot of comments about how we do not concentrate on the music itself and talk too much about other factors of the performance. It is true that our team is a little goofy and likes to joke around a lot, but that does not mean we did not appreciate the performance. In fact, as a foreigner who saw this performance for the very first time, the most eye-catching factor was the musical-like arrangements and the visual performance that they prepared. Usually, a Musical involves hours of running time and slowly builds up emotion. What makes THIS performance special is the fact that they turned a 4 minute piece into a musical and added up the emotion in such a short time. Touching the high notes, at least in my poiny of view, was NOT the best part of the show. The BEST part, in my pov, was how they were able to pull off such a great musical performance within just 4 minutes. To do so, they used the moving stairs, wore musical outfits, implemented dramatic choirs and showed exaggerated gestures and facial expressions while singing.(and more) These are all signs of a musical which makes the performance more enjoyable and entertaining. And that was what we were mostly interested in while watching this video. NOTICE how this 4 minute long musical made us guess what the meaning and the story line would be. That could be the best part of this performance, at least to foreigners who have zero knowledge of the language and lyrics. Everyone has their own focus points when watching a music performance, and I believe that is what reaction videos are for. Thus, for those of you who think that we are not concentrating on the music, might wanna go back and look at the factors that I just mentioned up above and watch the performance again. It could give you a different insight to this wonderful performance :) anyways thanks for watching our video and we will come back with better reaction videos in the future!

Goofy is absolutely fine but not focusing on a performance properly is not.
styler one To each their own? That's why we called it 'reaction'.. I love Blimey, Abgkorea and other youtubers like Vickry from Indonesia but they all youtubers have their own concepts.. Same goes with this Coconut channel guys. Why would you force your perception on people like that.. On top of that, They said nothing but praised to our local singers, it's more than good. While we are here, I saw lot of harsh comments too from others.. Where's the so called 'respect'? Even for local like me, it took me like 3 4th times before to actually focus on Syamel n Erni's vocals. Too much things going on in the mv kot.. Seriously idek what's the real problem here tbh.. 🤧

I'm not sure whether you guys already got the meaning of the lyrics or not, but from my understanding, it's roughly about a couple who was in love with each other, but one of them had to go. The one who was left still felt the love in his/her heart, and keep wishing for the other one to come back and be with him/her again. Hope this helps! Thanks for reacting to the video :)

Thanks for the reactions guys. I'm really appreciate it. For those Malaysians out there who criticised them about their way of reaction should mind your manners please. They were reacting the performance for the very first time. When they were doing reactions for an international video which they are not familiar with our language, they tend to gives their own interpretation from the point of view. Same goes to us.The guys here were trying to understand the whole performance. For example what kind of concept or the story behind it, like watching an opera, we didn't understand the language sometimes because it's a foreign language. We would try to grasp the situation by the performance acts. So, please do apologize them for talking too much. It doesn't mean that they are not respect it, but they are foreigners who trying to know our music and culture. We should be grateful shouldn't we?. Moreover, I agree with them that delivering high notes is not a key point in singing performance . It's a bonus. The whole performance should be counted. I mean how they harmonize the voice, the performance acts that told the story of the song, and how they use their vocal technically . Singing is not just about how you can hit the high notes. It's just a wow factor in performance. I do apologize on behalf of Malaysians for their ignorant.

Okay I am done being furious lol forgive these people Coconut team. Okay so the song is composed and written by Syamel. I wont say they are the most popular or top singers in Malaysia before but this performance definitely bring them to the top. A lot of people now know them and they kinda secured the title as the most sought after duo now. Try watching their performance at the AME (Anugerah Meletop Era) where they performed Perfect by Ed Sheeran. A cool performance too.
AJL means Anugerah Juara Lagu. Basically it is a really prestigious song competition. It has been running for 32 years now. Every year, top 10 songs will be selected to compete for the best song of the year. It focuses more on the composers, lyricists and the songs rather than the singers. Other than awarding the songs (and celebrating those behind it) there are also Best Vocal and Best Performance awards. Whoever win Best Vocal in AJL is definitely will get instant recognition. People really look forward for the winner for this award.
Aku Cinta literally means I Love. Aku = I. Cinta = Love.
Basically the song is about unfulfilled love. There is still love but you just cant be together. Physically you are gone, but you stays in my heart.
I love the fact that you almost got it right since you know this is actually a sad song. It shows that Syamel and Ernie did a great job conveying the emotion.

Cinta - Love between couple while sayang - love between friends, families, belongings etc etc. You can say "Saya cinta awak" - I love you to your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife but you don't say "saya cinta awak" to friend with same sex. We always say "saya sayang awak" I love you, "saya sayang mama" - I love you mom, "saya sayang baju ini" - I love this dress". Cinta - only for couple, others we use "sayang"

It is not like i am a singer show. It is a song competition but it is focus more on the composer/lyricst. To appreciate their hard work and talents. In short it is a competition to choose the best song throughout the year. So it's like a festival where all the singers put their best performance. By the way, both of them won best vocal award that night. Thank you for the reaction video. I know how goofy you are when reacting. Maybe 'unwelcome' comments come because people already watched other reaction videos who seem so surprised with the high notes unlike your video.

AJL is the prestige song competition for song writer and singer in Malaysia...
You are indeed entitled to your focus point in your reaction. To each his own. And I do agree with you that a measure of a good singing ability does not lie on one's vocal range, because I took vocal class myself. You could possess only one or two octaves yet emerge as an excellent singer at the same time. But to say cinta is Indonesian when it is used not only in Indonesia, but in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (and other Malay-speaking countries as well), that just shows how ignorant you are. To be honest, I'm not surprised having visited South Korea many times and having had the experience of conversing with Koreans. Most of the Koreans are living in their own cocoon and plain ignorant when it comes to anything or everything not Korean. Your objectivity in your reaction is commendable, but your ignorance just brings this whole video down the drain. Not good.

Aku Cinta means "I love". aku = I, cinta=love. Sayang is sarang, also known as love :D So, cinta and sayang is similar and meant the same thing. Indonesian and Malaysian language are similar, by the way :)

There's a lot actually :) Anyway I'm also musician but I think vocal range doesn't really mean that they are great singer. (Doesn't mean that they sing bad)
so hyang... but so hyang has more range than ernie.. i would say ernie is in the same level with ailee... and so hyang should be compared to ziana zain or dato'siti...
Ernie does have a wide voice range but what I like about her is the exploding emotion that she puts on her voice :)
