In the earlier days of gaming (except the 80s), it was like that. Only the mainstream popularity and that result of more money to make from, made giant studios invite big cold and capitalistic investment people into they head direction, leading to what it is now these days. But indie studios still are very just like that old days.

Really cool that you guys are doing stuff outside just the game though! Stuff like this lets us learn things while also letting y'all learn even more things about cars
A combo of my garage and beamng where you have the main structure of the beamng physics model, but you can remove and replace the panels using an adjustable wrench and an angle grinder.
Funny thing there is a repair mod out there (that didn't work anymore :( with the newest version) that allowed to reform the nodes into it's original position while the car technically was still broken. I used that tool to for ex. spawn a second none broken version of the same car, dettached that car's doors and other parts and attached them to the broken car, like an replacement using the node grabber. Which kinda worked. A little camera bug but having such thing naturally without bugs would be amazing. The repair mod just simply allowed me to attach those car parts from the other one onto the broken one because otherwise the whole frame would be deformed.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do sneak that in for the update and just don't tell us.
Please do a in-game version of this build when it's finished, you could take the ETK I-Series as the base for it

I have been watching this game and have grown up with it ever since 2013. I love this new idea of posting videos of the actual developers doing car content in the real world!

Holy crap! I just bought a damaged BMW E34 three months ago to fix and restore and suddenly the official BeamNG channel has the same car?! I can't believe it. This is awesome!
Haha, lift it! I didnt like BMWs until I started working on that e34. They are so easy to work on :O,
@@ferrettankror1 Yeah BMWs have bad reputation due to their drivers, but damn those 80s/90s/00s era cars are so good. So user friendly, reliable and fun to toss around. True driver's cars. E36s are so damn easy to work on it's crazy. Currently working since a year on my new project - E46! :D

It depends what your plans are and where you are living. I'm from a country where we don't have a lot of "eco" fees. These are now one of the cheapest BMWs, and the cheapest 3 series to get. The previous gen is already quite old, so prices went up. E90s on the other hand, haven't aged thaaat much yet, and are way more difficult to work on, so those in good condition cost a lot.
Difficulty level (1-10)
E36s = 2 or 3 depending on model - usually very easy
E46s = 4 to 6 depending on model - quite easy except for AWD models.
E46s are still nice to work on but AWD versions are a bit pain in the lower back. The rest of the 46s are quite good, but are more advanced than E36s, much more electronics and fewer parts fit each other. Though E46 electronics are "old school" by modern standards and usually ain't making a lot of trouble. Easy to customize, programme etc.
Sooo... I opted for E46 Touring 330XD - 3.0L diesel 204HP 410Nm wagon AWD.( Mind it isn't "X-drive"! Constant AWD just like in good old Subarus :D ) Currently on 400HP 820Nm, but that isn't final. Hope to get in area of 450HP 900Nm smoke free. And that isn't even on straight pipe. It still has catalytic converter and mufflers to make it within EU4 emission norms and quiet, as it will be a car-audio competition car.
Biggest issue is finding well maintained chassis, as those are almost always rusted, and bodywork is the most expensive of them all. It took me a few months and checked a few cars before I got mine. - Even though my budget was very high and I've asked only for mint condition cars, some guys tried to sell me some expensive trash, with the chassis falling apart (not joking!). So I wasted quite some money on 2 mechanics (1 BMW specialist and one bodywork specialist) and fuel checking some cars, but got a damn perfect base. 0 rust, original conservation, 0 accidents. Only not in my spec as it was automatic and with poor equipment. Though all this is a small issue, as it's very easy to equip those cars. There have been 3.3milion E46s produced, so market is full of used good quality OEM and aftermarket parts. So to equip everything to maximum spec, it was less than 1000 euros. Swapping to manual was expensive though, as only a few have ever been done globally, and it requires welding etc. to be made properly. But I got it done better than OEM!
To wrap it up. E46s are really cheap now. I got mine in very good condition for 3500 euros. Just a motor alone is worth 1200eur - gotta look for one in eastern europe though, in Germany/Netherlands/Belgium etc. those are crazy expensive for some strange reason. With good motors like M57N you've unlimited tune potential, want to have a reliable RWD daily with 500HP and close to 1000Nm with rapid reving, economic diesel engine and really good sound - no issue, stock internals, stock drive train. Just gotta work on the induction and exhaust systems. If you're really interested in getting E46 then we might chat on What'sApp, Telegram etc. I've a bit of knowledge about those and I'll be happy to help.
I want to tell BeamNG devs that they are the best and they deliver us so much fun and adrenalline when waiting for the updait.
