  • After attending a Panama Relocation Tour, Carol moved into a furnished $550 a month oceanfront rental in Guarare, Panama. Guarare is just outside of Las Tablas. Six months later, she moved to a furnished ocean view two bedrooms, two-bath house for $600 a month in El Rompio which is also in the Azuero Peninsula just south of Chitre.
In this video, Carol does a walkthrough of her amazing home to show you want you can get for $600 a month rent. Sometimes the house you rent won't have everything you are familiar with... like hot water. but it's easy to get it installed. Like Carol did, you can buy decorating items in Panama to personalize your home.
The Azuero Peninsula is known for getting much less rain than the rest of Panama.

I like this lady. She's cool and has a good outlook on life and a nice colour sensibility for her decorations to keep things lively. I get the impression that she has a lot of fun where she is and loves living the carefree lifestyle that she has chosen. I wish her the very best. Welcome to Panama! When I saw all those wine bottles I was like *WHOAH!* but then she said she had gotten them from her friends to do arts & crafts. Then I was like *Phew!* lol
But you can see how you can actually survive and not feel deprived if your fixed income is $1,200/month there.

This is fabulous! If I had a vote, I’d say don’t get a dryer. It defeats the purpose of moving abroad if you have everything “like it is back in the US.” The washer with the lines to dry your clothes also save on electricity and are better for the environment. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice tour and, of course, Panama has it's culture. As in Mexico, you certainly do not need hot water, but it's avail. if you want it - there's no need for hot showers when it's 80 F in the daytime, so shower when it's nice out, of course. After exercise or a walk, cool showers refresh you!!

Wow! What a dream! Especially to someone who lives in the us states! I'm moving abroad and of course, watching videos for inspiration and I FOUND IT! it's hard.. So hard.. To even imagine a lifestyle possibility like yours.. I've been trying my hardest to be able to live the way I am supposed to.. But with the financial strains in the us, especially for ethnic, single women, like me who do not have any exs or spousal support.. This seems impossible! But I know it is... Just have to find a way.. And get away from negative stigmas and pre notions on how people should live.

She's a lovely lady, but isn't that an odd thing to say? Of course the landlord would mow his own lawn to the house he owns. He's just renting it out but still owns it and charges people rent to live in it. The owner is lucky she keeps it up, fixed it up (literally put a hot water heater in at her own expense, fixed the stairs so she wouldn't fall thru them, painted rooms, replaced all the curtains in the house, etc.), and trims the lawn after he mows, IMHO. Certainly worth it since she's only paying $600 for this big house by the water, but "wow" too. Wonderful lady.

Hi Carol, great video and really appreciate the detailed information. I'm curious, when you're sitting outside where there aren't any screens/mosquito netting, are the mosquitoes bearable or awful or somewhere in between? I'm also wondering how clear the water is. Without it looking blue like many of the other pictures/videos I've seen in Panama, I wonder if much can be seen while snorkeling or if that's a hobby best not done there. How close/far are you from town, food, stores with necessary items, movie theater, other entertainment? How far from a bus station? Do they run there? Taxis? I love your home and how you've decorated it. I hope you go for the dryer, and kudos on the hot water in your bathroom. :) What is the high temperature there? I'm dying in Fort Worth, Tx right now (HOT), and there's no end in site at the moment. The low looks fantastic, just wondering how warm it gets each day during the different seasons (rainy versus dry). I sure hope it's God's will for me and my sister to move to Panama (two years would be nice), and now you've added your area to the list. Take care and God bless!! I'm very happy for you and your little doggy. :)
