      I love your topics!
As you know (just an idea, of course), I would like to buy a cheap plot and build a house (might get a family loan from overseas). Or buy a starter home. But without paying a fortune for consulting services. If you ever feel it's worth your time and it's a nice enough subject and you have the know how, there's no good tutorial on how to do everything by yourself WITHOUT HIRING SERVICES (sorry but I had to use the caps). Every time I search for information in English I find the same boring instructions advising people to hire a professional, which is the same as saying nothing, since we can just go to the makelaar then. It would be nice to get an insider perspective on how to buy directly from the owner and cut all those middle people plus not participate on an auction, but just go ahead and make your purchase directly, transfer the deed yourself and be done with it 😉
I'd be able to do that in Brazil without issues. I admit that my (Brazilian) Law degree helps there, but in Brazil even people that can barely read are able to find a house on sale, negotiate, sometimes visit the place in person (to bypass the realtor), go to the official notarial service and transfer the property in exchange for the payment (even if taking a mortgage, but then it's a bit harder but many banks help, since interest rates are higher). If you need to build, you visit the Architect/Engineer, pay for the project and for the professional to supervise/inspect your construction, you can hire cheap labor yourself (or their staff, depending) and build a house in a very affordable manner, if that's the case.
Since many of us (probably the majority of your audience) are expats and the housing market here seems to be really weird (at least to me) due to the easiness people who have a job find to get a massive amount of money from the bank at low interest and the fact that there seems to be a massive industry of "facilitators" that should not even exist in 2021, since anybody can list their property on funda and we should be able to close those deals directly in a more efficient way at the notarial service directly.
Sorry for the rant, but it upsets me to not be able to save enough, find a listing, message the seller, see the house, close the deal, done. 😟
I wish I can do that once I learn enough Dutch and get to search better for those things. Otherwise it's ok too, I'll just stay out due to being too poor 😁

I totally hear the frustration with the whole housing market! I’m working on some content to cover this in a bit more detail hoping to bring some more insight. With that said, unfortunately there’s a shortage and high demand making the housing market a very challenging one to get into.

@@MakingitinHolland Awesome. I hope you can help everybody on getting deals without hiring those expensive services. Imagine if you can get plots of land that are easy to buy on cash, then you can sell your architectural services to handle the construction, for example. Then you can use footage of your own projects to leverage as material for your channel in a positive feedback loop. I don't know if it would be profitable to you, of course, just a suggestion, as always 😉

@@dseadddr8836 I don't know if you can apply as a refugee, but I know that immigrating here is a bit hard even for European citizens from poorer countries. I come from Portugal and I had to explain myself before they allowed me to register here and they would not even allow me to do that if I didn't have a rented place of my own. Maybe you should try a Southern European country like Greece or Italy instead, it will likely be way easier, sorry. 😬

Another great video! There is also huge demand for electricians, plasterers, painters and people who are able to do odd jobs or minor building work…Dog walking is also a great way of earning extra income. 😊

Yes, I also find there's a huge demand for specialists and small contractors for renovation work as well. Dog walking sounds fun! I hear cat sitting is also becoming a thing these days. 😀

Nice ideas!!! So true about the gardening, it's insanely expensive to hire and they charge by the hour and some won't even give you an estimate based on the task at hand, so you end up in a difficult situation. Ideas on types of work we can do (without being much "employable") or small businesses we can start with small investments are always very welcome!
Since a high percentage of people here go to the university and fight for office jobs, I guess other activities that involve more field work are in higher demand. I am not so sure the Dutch pay foreigners those same 400 euros once they know you don't speak the native language (hence why one might consider doing that instead of also fighting for a comfortable clerical job)... They must haggle independent service providers to hell if they're like when we try to sell things on marktplaats 🤣

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days

You can open a business during a zoekjaar visa as long as you have a BSN, a place to register your business and 50 euro Kamer van Koophandel registration cost. Check out this video I made a while back on how to register a business in the Netherlands: czcams.com/video/BsF_Lw7tXzY/video.html Just make sure that after your zoekjaar visa expires, you can prove to have a sustainable business which can support your life in NL. For detailed questions, do get in touch with kvk.nl/.
