Rehearsing with The Honnet Brothers for an upcoming gig on July 1st at the Thrill Blues Festival in Croatia. Anthony Honnet - Keyboards Davy Honnet - Drums Video by Kelly Roberts
Hey Robben, I'll be 70 in August and when young I played and got OK at a beginner level but life happens and at age 62 started playing again and decided I would, this time round learn music rather than just playing a few chords and your programs and post of all kind have inspired me and I'm now playing at an intermediate level. I have my arpeggios down pretty good and have started working on the diminished sound, your programs are a blessing to me. Keep on keeping on.
Robben and these cats show that great music can be achieved without high volume and bombast. Taste, dynamics, truly listening and playing complimentary parts always produces fantastic results. Bravo….
I woke up today & as always had a guitar in my hands before breakfast. I try to do that every day several times a day. Just to put a guitar in my hands & force myself to play something because lately I've been feeling very uninspired. This type of thing happens to musicians, singers, songwriters...etc, but every time I listen to you Robben. I always leave feeling inspired. To try something new or even take something old & just move inside it a different way. There are so few people that really have the ability to do what you do. How your music moves people is something very special. Thank you for giving your everything to everyone. Thank you Sir Robben.
I saw the master in concert 3 days ago and i was amazed by the freshness of is playing ,still taking risk on improvisation, looking and finding !créative directions and his voice is still so full of fresh soul, long life to robben!
Love your playing and so sad the guitar safari this August was called off. I was ready to try and learn a lick or two from my fave guitarist. Beautiful work Robben, thank you.
@@brachashighhopeshomestead226 Yeah but my buddy had it better... He left the festival after the weekend and stopped at a gas station nearby to have breakfast when Robben and the band walked in the same gas station to have breakfast with them... But while that is a really cool story, my first guitar teacher got drunk with Stevie Ray Vaughan in Pori Jazz 1985 after SRV's gig... On the beach, around bonfire, SRV playing guitar, them drinking SRV's bottle of whiskey... THAT story can't be topped.
Great video, thanks for sharing this with your audience, it's the kind of video I think a lot of people love to see, the mix/recording is great, crystal clear, but still raw sounding in a good way, if you know what I mean. Cheers
Beautiful! How has a legend like Robben only accumulated about 40k subscribers when the likes of Mimisounds has over a million! I just don't understand it (well I do, but it's very sad)! 😢
“..... Smooth Jazz WNUA, 95.5 Chicago.... It’s lights out Chicago, I’m your host, Denai Alexander.....” 😭 I want my WNUA BACK Ford would have dovetailed right in
OK, I come up to full volume. We should all ask why this sounds pretty good. Placement etc.. I think the engineer is using more room sound than people do normally.
Love this song. The tiger walk album is just a masterpiece.
I also think so😊
My favorite album of Robben’s
So much healing in Robben’s playing. Been listening for 35 years. Always life giving. Much love from Australia
Time, tone, technique, phrasing, soul! Masterfully!
One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE MUSICIANS. Robben doesn’t just play a song … he IS THE SONG.
Well said.

Get into some jazz tunes so you can learn some of the language he uses.
Join the Robben Ford Guitar Dojo! 😉
so weird that this was in my home screen just now, I played this CD on my to work this morning ...one of my favorite R.F. albums!
I am soooo stoked that my tele looks exactly like Robben's, albeit from 66. A guitar which I really love....and play a lot.....
Yes, I know what you mean. Mine is a '61.
@@tele68 Can you 2 make your Tele's sing like Robben's? even in 4 lifetimes it would be a miracle... but you have your voices, go for it!
Good to see this great tune staying in the rotation. So smooth and classy, as always!
Crazy to think he was 46 the year Tiger Walk came out and to still be touring now what a legend

Le bon goût guitaristique en action... Comme toujours avec Mr Robben Ford ! Bravo aussi aux 2 accompagnateurs..
Best Tele sound I've ever heard, just incredible.
What?!?! Don't be ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣

Love your playing and so sad the guitar safari this August was called off. I was ready to try and learn a lick or two from my fave guitarist. Beautiful work Robben, thank you.
magnifico.💥💥💥💥💥💥
Great tune from Tiger Walk. Thanks Robben. You have no idea how much this album influenced me.
Robben gave me his pick after this song in Pori Jazz 1997… Tiger walk!
that was a great performance with the trio, lucky man you are!

Sounds fabulous ..love the tele ..so much better than the prs ..this is just fabulous sound ..dumble im guessing ..
From Australia 🦘🦘🦘
BRAVO Robben! Te queremos Robben! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Great story line on the guitar ❤
Man…a good clean Tele neck pickup is one of my favorite sounds ever! 🤘
What is it about organ trios? Can't get enough of 'em.
Curtis Mayfield, Ernie Isley and Steve Cropper are all in that beautiful sound he's making with the band. Cool !
Masterful tone! Saw Robben light City Winery NYC on fire back in '14. Tele + Dumble = not a bad way to go.
Robben calls this a "rehearsal" we all would call it "The best recording we ever made." :)
Brilliant👌👌👌
Really pretty 🤩
Very cool
beautiful song, nice team too ;)

I just don't understand it (well I do, but it's very sad)! 😢
This is the song that turned me on to Robben. Completely changed my approach to playing in 5min.
this is friggin fantastic -there I said it!
Hallelujah
His picking position creates a distinctive sound. It's a tone that can only be produced by picking from the rear.
Yep. It's the picking hand that makes a good guitar player. Anyone after some practice, can finger the fretboard. The sound is from the other hand.
omg that room!
oh, yeah, is this a recording studio in Paris area? if not where...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is it after all.
That old Tele 🤩
❤
That Tele makes me think of Danny Gatton.
Freedom 🎸
Come to France please 🙏
Clean ... all the way.

Wow
Классно!

👍👍👍👍
he's really great. Too bad we didn't get to see the whole band.
Looks like Robben’s been working out!
Gorgeous!! Amazing room too. Anyone know what studio that is?
It’s at Soult Studio Paris
@@davyhonn Thanks. Great drums man!
Thank you Dude 🙌🏽
Can anyone tell me anything about this room?
is it a recording studio in France?
👍🎸🎼🇳🇴
I thought I would hear some funny referring to the Hendrix-song:)
OK, I come up to full volume. We should all ask why this sounds pretty good. Placement etc.. I think the engineer is using more room sound than people do normally.
Organ bass? Never seen Robben use this format.
If you know how, you can surf the Atlantic Ocean & play Jazz on a Telecaster.
clever~
You can play surf music on a death metal guitar too.
That is one way to create an anechoic chamber.
These guys make levels. Pros need to make levels. Oz Noy is too loud. Can you tell him?
Aside the great players, did anyone notice the shape of the walls… they look like gigantic flame maple necks…What are these made of ???
