  • @darkmountainparanormal5577

As a paranormal researcher and demonologist I want to try and explain what the warrens meant with the whole doll being possessed.
A demon cannot “possess” a doll or object, but it can attach to certain objects. Attachments are what lead to possessions. Which comes to this, Attachment isn’t the same as possession. The demon or bad spirit doesn’t actually go inside the object but follows it around. Like dogs following there owner around the house, where ever said object goes, so dose the entity and it’s hope is that a unsuspected human who is “weak” or gullible will get ahold of the object. Now, all though the demon is attached to the doll, it can still temporarily wander and follow other people, in most cases we find this will happen up to 3 days and after that activity stops. Demons choose to attach to things that are somewhat comfort items to humans such as dolls, toys, wood trinket and jewelry boxes, chairs, things of that nature. So this is how haunted artifacts come about. Humans spirits can do the same just they don’t have a intention of harming anyone. For example “grama” loved sitting and rocking in her old wood rocking chair when she was alive and after passing she still likes to do that so a small piece of here spirit is still attached to that chair. it’s a belief that through our life small bits of your spirit are imprinted onto certain things and when you pass those small bits continue to “haunted” said things. Then there’s “stone tape theory” where the energy from past events (saddens, anger, violence, traumatic events) will imprint onto the surrounding fabrics of buildings and other objects. This creates what we call residual haunts which is simply a replay of energy’s and imprinted memory’s of passed events. Example, you live in a old mansion that had some walls rebuilt and door ways filled in, and you end up seeing a spirit float through the wall. well, back in the day when that spirit was alive there used to be a door where us went through the wall. Now it’s filled in after remodeling. Anyway good video 👍🏾

Just found your channel and have been binging it since. Great work! I cannot speak to the Warrens, I don't know enough about them, but the fact that they have a museum from their cases is pretty messed up. I did just want to bring up a couple points.
    1) Exorcisms are not always one and done. Some time cases can take a long while. So in this case, it's not that the priest failed or didn't do the exorcism right, it could have just been an involved case that required more prayers. Actually, if the story is true, yes it's an involved case.
    2) Demons may not "possess" objects, but they can be attached to them. In this case, something very well may have been attached to the doll and brought into the home this way. Or was attached to the doll at some point, so yes, the Warrens may have had that experience in the car. The doll should have been prayed over, blessed and destroyed. The fact they kept it in a museum does make me question their motives and understanding of things.

Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons of Anarchy, has a phobia of dolls. Through put the 7 season run, the most psychotic character in the show, Tig, would have scenes with dolls showing he's adversity to dolls. One was while he was on mushrooms and a more subtle one where he is covering up a doll figurine with a cloth napkin while in a dining room. I would crack up everytime.

The Conjuring Doll looks disturbing as it just sits there, however the sheer creepiness of a kids Raggedy Anne Doll just snapping back to OG kids Doll from some crazy disturbing Demonic Monster Doll!?
As for the story based IRL vs Film? It was a brand new doll & picked up a spirit once it entered the apartment block. Well after they (VERY Stupidly) agreed to let the spirit stay! (WHY!?!!) the issues kicked up a notch, they gave it permission to essentially do whatever the F it decided it wanted to do!
The whole exorcist deal, IF Demons are 100% real? Well, yeah I feel like the Catholic Church has it right (For once!) Picking a Priest with more than just a super firm belief in God/Christ is a very smart choice!

my take on the movie doll is that it LOOKS like it's posessed by a demon, so I can only say "why the fuck would you give that to your pregnant wife?" Meanwhile the real Annabel was terrifying not because of the demon but because of the fact it's an unassuming Raggedy Ann. An unassuming raggedy ann would have absolutely made more sense, not just because it's what the true Annabel is, but because it'd be more believable that you'd give your pregnant wife a seemingly harmless doll to give your newborn daughter.

    • @jendoe9436
      @jendoe9436 Před rokem +6

If you ever have time, I highly recommend looking into how the Catholic Church investigates exorcism.
A lot of it starts with getting to know the person’s state of mind and working up to demons. Sometimes things like possession are undiagnosed mental issues, so the priest and Church will recommend the victim get help.
If it’s actual demons, then it’s a long period of prep work and spiritual fortitude. Some exorcisms can last for a long time, so a priest needs to be physically, mentally, and spiritually ready for anything.
The whole casually “waving a rosary, saying prayers, and throwing holy water” is VERY dangerous for all human parties involved. Demons are strong, evil mother f***ers! No one who isn’t trained should mess with them.

@@pirate_duck4985 oh I for sure agree on finding less ‘glorified’ (shall we say) information about things like demons and exorcisms. Had some friends in high school that weren’t practicing demonic stuff or anything (as far as I know at least), but the way they would talk about demons and evil stuff in general was kinda…. unsettling, I guess is the closest word. They were fine people overall, but quite anti-religious sometimes while I was practicing mine a lot more so that’s probably where I got the feeling from.
There was a time I studied things like exorcism, paranormal, etc and found it fascinating. Overtime, though, I found myself burning out and becoming paranoid as I was looking at those topics from a media perspective, which is designed to over exaggerate and capture attention. I’ve calmed down a lot since and am a lot better about not getting into extremes.
Sorry to hear your troubles, though. It can definitely be hard in this day and age to distinguish the natural, supernatural, and just general unknown. Since I don’t know your story nor do I expect ya to unload on some CZcams stranger, I’ll just say reach out if you can to who you think can help.
If it’s something mental or physical, a professional should be able to assist with that aspect. Our bodies are very complex so if something isn’t going right internally or we have a lot of external stress, then it’s easy for us to get out of whack. Sometimes a new mindset and healthy routine can help us live a lot better.
If you get that part checked out and can recognize lingering side effects, then for sure see if it’s something in your spiritual life or the equivalent of one. That one may be a lot harder to figure out since it’s something we don’t nurture or think about as much in our age of ‘scientific reasoning’ and all that. Without being specific, find good people who you trust and work from there. Find something wholesome that makes you feel connected to loved ones or just doing good for those around you. Positivity is contagious after-all.
For more info on the process of discerning demons, paranormal, and all that, make sure to look into trusted sources. The Catholic Church does have resources about all that, which will have varying degrees of plausibility depending on your knowledge and trust in the subject or provider. I will say that though the Church does have certified exorcist priests, they do value the privacies of everyone involved and often the name of the priest won’t be stated until one gets to the actual possession stage. And from there people are often sworn to secrecy or high discretion. It just keeps people out of attention so they focus on self improvement and not be hounded for details about their traumatic experiences.
But there are exorcists and researchers who have spoken out so they can caution and guide others. A few days ago a CZcamsr under “Capturing Christianity” talked about exorcism with a Catholic priest. There was a book released years ago by a former NYC (?) police sergeant about the stuff he saw and him helping priests with that.
I would say if the source is glorifying the details or prattling on about everything, it may not be too good. I would focus on works that emphasize respect for all parties involved, make a point to explain the steps in determining what’s going on, and provide just enough to explain without going overboard.

Lorraine claimed to see/talk to angry native American spirits at Amityville, responsible for some of the hauntings and murders. No tribe experts have any records of a tribe in that area, and shed said that area was used for them to dump their 'crazies' to die from the elements, something _very_ offensive to suggest they did.
So basically she made it all up and further stigmatized native americans. And helped the Lutz' (the people that 'survived the Amityville hauntings') make a ton of money and a mass murderer used it as a possible defense (his laywers since admitted to planning it all with the Lutz's so it's weird that she sensed ghosts and demons in a not-haunted house)

My sister got one of those raggedy ann dolls from a thrift store around 2003-2005. It creeped her out at night so she would put it in the closet and she would wake up with it sitting up at the end of her bed. We slept with the closet closed in our room and the doors were on hanging tracks so they were very loud and difficult to open. It definitely would wake us up. Also, we would try to sit the doll up the way it was posed when we found it but neither of us could get it to sit up like that and stay there. I have always been a light sleeper, I would wake up just from the sun coming through the window. It was just the two of us and our mom living there and she slept in the next room over. The doors were also really squeaky. My sister got rid of the doll after a few months of having it. Thats not the only weird thing that happened living in that place. I think it was 2005 or 2006 when the really bad one happened that has scared me for life. My mom came in from trying to smoke a cigarette outside but her lighter was empty and would only spark and not make a flame. She put it on the counter and went to mine and my sisters room down the hall to help us clean. The three of us were cleaning for a bit and I went to the kitchen to get something for my mom. The lighter that wouldnt light maybe 20 minutes before had caught itself on fire and was burning a six inch high flame on the linoleum countertop. I called for my mom and she put the fire out (I dont remember exactly how, I was terrified and probably crying). I have tried to figure out a reason it would catch on fire. It was cold, the lighter was on the corner of the counter, oven and other appliances were not on, it was evening so no sun shining through the windows and heating it up, nothing else near it on the counter. If anyone knows what could have caused it I would love to know. Im still scared of leaving lighters unattended. Obviously I have no proof of any of this because I was a kid. Even if I thought to document anything we only had film cameras and my moms flip phone

I've always felt that the Warrens were just ridiculously successful shysters, everything they 'researched' was paranormal, I don't think I ever saw anything they looked into turning out to be nothing at all or a hoax. That is statistically impossible. And they managed to fleece the world for decades. I think as con artists I have to give them applause, but as people they frustrate me at the least, disgust me at the most.
I'm with you on being terrified of porcelain dolls and just too human looking dolls in general. They are just way too uncanny valley for me. My grandmother had a porcelain doll that had real human hair and glass 'follow me' eyes...it was super creepy and I absolutely refused to sleep in the same room as it when we visited. I would have to sleep with my back against a wall with a full view of the door even in a room away from it, just in case. Everyone thought I was being dramatic but the doll really did freak me out! My sister years later thought it would be a hoot to gift me a little porcelain clown doll, a double whammy since clowns also terrify me...that thing went immediately in the trash as I cried and cussed her out lol. Also, Teddy Ruxpin scared me...it just didn't seem right that a teddy bear should move and talk on its own, so when my aunt had one she got for us kids to play with, I secreted it out of the house and buried it on the edge of her property, no one ever found it and as far as I know it's still buried there XD

The Warrens are full of shit, there are quite a few people who worked with them that said as much and a lot of the stories and fictions they came up with don't make sense, including Annabelle. Now it's mostly harmless, except for the time they tried to get a murderer off after he claimed to be possessed by a demon, which is the plot of the third and worst Conjuring film. The design for the Annabelle doll for the films is really trying to hard, dolls are creepier when they aren't designed to look creepy; the actual Annabelle doll looks far creepier; though obviously a children's toy company isn't going to allow a movie studio to make that toy into a a horror movie villain so they had to do something else.

According to Catholic Demonology, the only way a demon can come into contact with an object is if it is cursed. That is, someone has to invite a demon over an object, like the opposite of a blessing. Instead of asking God to shed His grace on something, someone invites a demon to taint an object. So, yes, demons cannot possess an object. However, they can be cursed.
Thus, if the stories are to be believed, then the doll has been cursed by a person.

    • @ralcogaming7674
      @ralcogaming7674 Před 28 dny

There is another way but it doesn't go with Catholic it's other religions that believe an object associated with tragedy can be cursed. (Mirrors are also generally considered cursed if someone dies in the home) But for example an object used in a "sewerslide" would instantly be considered cursed.

You seemed sceptical about the 1 year in hospital. Although I doubt the story behind the alleged crash, I do want to explain about the possibility of spending one year in hospital in the 70's. So my grandparents were in a terrible car accident in the 50's, they were both in Hospital for 6 months (Grandpa) and over 12 months (Grandma) to the point that her young kids both thought that their aunty was their mother for some time.
Now although there is a 20 year difference between 50's and the 70's it was only once key hole surgery was widely used that recovery times reduced significantly. For my grandmother the reason she was in for so long was she needed repeated facial surgery as she went flying through the front window glass and skidded across the ground, alongside the normal bone and organ damage in a car accident. A situation similar to the woman in the story so to me a year is plausible in the 70's.

Raggedy Ann dolls used to be a thing hand made by people. I was a kid in the 1980's and had one made by a family friend. I loved her. She was not creepy at all.
A doll baby I found at a second hand shop was the exact size of a two month old baby. I was in my 20's. I liked her but my Mom and Dad flund her creepy as s#it. I think she was actually a mannequin for like a store cuz she was slightly poseasible and not like a regular toy doll. I still have her in my storage unit she freeks out the neighbors just sitting on top of a box.

I find the certitude of of all this amusing. Especially the differentiation between ghosts and demons. Especially as my own experiences with the paranormal (that I never went looking for or even wanted) have convinced me some ghosts are indeed sentient and aware they are dead. I can’t speak about demons (if they actually exist and if they are not just malevolent “ghosts”).

I started screaming at my sister demanding to know how she got past me and outside. She hadn't arrived until right before id come outside she wasn't in the house.

I was (and am) the girl who hated dolls. I had a zoo full of stuffed animals and collect model horses. I have a huge collection of model horses, and some of them are 'test pieces' and worth a mint. I don't blame you one damn bit. "Baby dolls" and "American Girl" dolls ARE creepy as hell! Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy have been around forever. The are the subjects of a well-known children's book, and I had one. My aunt made me my Raggedy Ann doll (which was nice) but I never played with it and it was not at all the size of "Annabelle'. (and who give one of those to someone on their 28th) I somehow own a lot of stuffed tigers now. They're okay, they can stay. I think the Warrens were snake oil salesmen, they gained entry into your house by Ed doing a sketch of the home, appearing at the front door, introduced themselves, claimed they were drawn (ha) to the house because "your family may be in danger due to demons who want to slip into your home, may we come in? Here, Ed drew a lovely sketch for you." I don't know if they charged for their flim flam performances, but if they did it was a dead give away. No true 'worker' will charge you for a blessing or any ritual they perform. It's certainly true of any "Granny Woman" -- many of whom are often Cherokee. We are everywhere, and carry a great deal of Scottish, Welsh, and Irish DNA as they arrived in the Appalachian area and married many of the Cherokee women. (Cherokee women are the head of the household in every way, she owns the name, the clan affiliation, all material items and the children) They could effect a divorce simply by moving their husband's clothing and personal items and placing them outside, we do NOT charge any money for a home or personal blessing. It is given as a gift to help one in need.

Your description of ghosts - that of fragments of people that died traumatically that mindlessly repeat things from life - is seemingly only true of "residual" hauntings, the ones where things seem almost like short bits of film "recorded" and replaying on occasion. Other ghosts seem to be awake and aware, able to respond to things changing in their environment, even able to communicate with people. This means they might be able to lie, just as living people can lie. Saying that "only demons can lie" is a bit irresponsible. There's so much we don't know about spirits, it's really difficult to be absolutely certain of any of the "rules."

In mild defense of the movies, the director has said that the main Conjuring series is meant to reflect the Warren's real cases & the offshoots, like Annabelle, are meant to be more fantastical and don't stick to the 'true' stories.
That being said, the Conjuring movies significantly white-wash the Warrens - not just their work investigating the paranormal but as people in general. Ed Warren was not a good person.

I think the reason the doll still had some attachment to it after the "exorcism" might've been because it was a minor rite exorcism.. they often say a full exorcism has to be approved by the church so a minor rite seems more of just a blessing than a full on demon fight.. I'm sure that's what was happening in the museum video as well seeing as anyone can perform a minor rite without jumping thru hoops with the church

I think one of the stumbling blocks here, is the COMPLETE MISUSE of the phrase 'exorcism' versus 'cursed object'...and the truly 'deeper meaning' completely overlooked about Annabelle. She is NOT 'possessed' by a demon, she is an inanimate CURSED OBJECT that is being used BY a Demon...so guess what? An exorcism is NOT going to resolve this situation...and the one who made this 'cursed object' has no idea, or has not disclosed how to 'destroy' the cursed object. So...say an exorcism in the Vatican over Annabelle...it's still cursed (much like Solomon's ring...which god had to take back, due to the corruption of the ring itself). It has been defiled, it is corrupt, it is 'unfixable', and it cannot be purified. It can either be 'locked up' or it can be destroyed (properly)...all else is theater. Now, understand this difference, and you see how the 'misuse of words' is leading to your doubt...and does not diminish the very real threat that it does extend. Oh, and yes, cursed objects, if 'invited', CAN allow the demon to possess the one 'being kind to it'...but even upon exorcism from the person, the demon now has an anchor point, the doll, to return to, to 'wash-rinse-repeat' in the future from. The three original owners, or someone near them, did something VERY BAD with that doll, in its early years...that opened it up to being cursed...and 53 years later, it is VERY DOUBTFUL you'll ever find the 'unmaking' to end it now...
