First LVAD implanted in Nevada at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center

Earlier this year, Sunrise Hospital successfully implanted the first Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) in Nevada. The LVAD is a surgically implanted mechanical device that helps maintain the pumping ability of a heart that cannot effectively work on its own. Mr. Juan Mares-Ramirez made history as the first recipient in Nevada.
