  • Leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including members of the Relief Society general presidency, are in the Middle East for an extended visit to minister to Latter-day Saints and meet with government leaders.
Elder Randy D. Funk of the Middle East/Africa North Area Presidency and his wife, Andrea, and President Jean B. Bingham, Relief Society general president, and her husband, Bruce, started their visit in Cairo, Egypt, near the Nile River and the Great Pyramids of Giza known as one of the wonders of the ancient world.
“It's a land with a remarkable history... for those of us who are people of faith, but it's also a remarkable culture,” expressed Elder Funk.
“That was my very first visit, and I just loved it,” said President Bingham.

My Grandmother was born Alexandria Egypt 1940 Greek Orthodox. She spoke fluent Egyptian & Greek. About 1963 she came to Wellington, New Zealand on a ship. The Greek Community helped her settle and around 1973 she was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by a friend Mavis who was a member. My late Grandmother Eleni Caravassili was baptised and was an active member and patron. I am grateful for my membership because of her leaving Egypt and coming to New Zealand🌸

Being a missionary is a great responsibility! The missionary must have great energy, fortitude, and courage. Wherever the missionary goes, no matter what part of the world he or she is in, he or she must spread the Word. Locals must understand what the missionary is telling them. The missionary must get the Word right! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is going on a mission or preparing for one, I would like to recommend a very good workshop by Yury Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes: Practical Tips for Learning Foreign Language. This wonderful book will give you answers how to properly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book gives answers to many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. I wish you good luck in your important work!

Very cool! Our kids have been learning about ancient Egypt, and a few months ago our teenager researched modern-day Egypt.

Imagine the Cairo, Egypt temple! (No, don’t mean the Luxor Hotel in Vegas.) And then the Book of Mormon translated _back_ to Reformed Egyptian! 💛🙏🏼

Ephraim, it’s time to wake up. Nephi saw this day:
“12 And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few... I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small...
14 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.”
