the way this happens is you hit the ball straight really hard with no rotation, that way the wind makes it move freaky, sometimes you put a little rotation so it drops unexpectedly

The scientific reason for the ball’s weird movement is this :
- You have to hit the ball with the front (a bit to the right ) of your foot. In a straightforward movement, and accompanying the ball ( not retracting your foot right now after hitting the ball)
Obviously it’s a matter of centimeters of your front foot : that’s why it needs lots of practice.
- When you hit it the right way, the ball is not spinning. So it’s moving in the air with the speed/power you gave it. The air’s resistance is much stronger to a ball that’s not spinning.
So at first, the ball has enough speed to move through the air even without spinning. But eventually, the ball’s speed decreases, and reaches that point with the air’s resistance takes over.
That’s why the ball has the strangest movement when it’s about to come down ton the ground (lowest speed).
Knuckle ball is a technique that shoots with 0 spin. A flat centre hit. Usually the part of the foot that you connect with gives direction. The flat hit momentum makes the ball 'lighter' (less density) and thus moves with even the slightest bit of wind.

That happens when you kick the ball really hard ( usually dead center) but don't give any spin to it ( which is what gives the ball the prediction to where it goes). I believe the sudden changes in direction is the air inside the ball moving, since it doesn't have any spin to it.

most of these kicks was done with a adidas jabulani ball which was specific for its aerodynamics and it was quite easy for pros to do these types of kicks

it is the circulation behind the ball. Because the ball got no spin at all it creates air circles behind the ball and that makes the ball unpredictable. Just a bit physics. Its pretty much the same like in baseball.

Knuckle ball, basically hit with 0 or almost 0 spin, the movement is made by the ball deforming in the air (specifically half the ball roughly, deforms making lift on one side, like a plane wing, as the ball is deforming back and forth it constantly is changing shape so it can move 2 even 3 ways, TLDR version, Dudes hit the ball fuck hard, it dont spin and deforms creating mad movement)
Other curve/dip
Inside boot curl, is from side spin, player kind of wraps their foot around the ball as they strike (hockey players use similar technique with their shots sometimes)
Outside boot curl, again side spin but with the outside of the boot, so rather than wrap the foot around , you "catch" it ..striking across the ball
Back spin basically from chipping style technique, ball goes high and hangs up in teh air and ends up falling dead weight sharp vertical angles
Top spin naturally from Volleys, harder to do from the ground but its basically top spin (opposite to chip technique)
now ...you can combine top or back spin with side spin and mad tings a gwan
