Eggless Ragi Biscuits-Easy Finger Millet Cookies with Country Sugar-Healthy Snacks Recipe

- Finger millet cookies or ragi cookies are very healthy, tasty and quick to make. If you are looking for easy and healthy snacks recipes, these ragi biscuits are a perfect choice. They are rich in fiber, protein and calcium. You can have it as evening snacks, in between meals, at tea time or any time of the day without any guilt feelings. You can give these healthy ragi biscuits to toddlers, babies, to school going kids without any guilt feelings as these cookies are very healthy. (you can even omit the 1/8 tsp baking powder, if you do not prefer it. It gives soft cookies. Without that baking powder, the biscuits will be a little hard but taste will be good)

Hi padhu.. I am a big time fan of ur recipes..have tried so many of them turned out awesome.. So happy to see these cookies. I have a doubt. U have kept a batch of cookies on the cooling rack also inside the oven. I never knew it can be used for baking also. Can u pls explain.

Regarding your doubt - It comes with the oven. I use it for keeping cake tin or cookies pan inside the oven and also as a cooling rack. Two in one. My oven is small size morphy richards.

Great recipe! Cookies turned out amazing. I added 2 tbsp of chickpea flour (based on some recommendations) and substituted cardamom powder with vanilla essence.

These cookies came out way too buttery for me. I could make out when I was creaming the butter and sugar together that the butter seemed in excess. I got a flat rectangular shape the size of the tray. Lol! With the remaining dough which was only 4 cookies, I added wheat flour and those baked well. They taste good though! :) I used half jaggery powder .

Country sugar means "nattu sakkarai". You get it in all grocery stores.

Just multiply the measurement and try. Fry try less quantity. Once you are confident, you can make a big batch.

My cookies got melted in oven. What i should do
If the butter is too soft, it will happen. It should not be too soft.
Too much sugar or butter can be the cause.
If your dough is too warm, this can happen. We should refrigerate the dough in that case for 30 mins and then proceed to make cookies.
Oven temperature also matters. If it is too low, the cookies will spread n melt.
Ur 1 cup is equal to 200 ml or 240 or 250 ml

Massive difference in amount of baking powder in the written recipe and video
Maybe because that was posted years back. You can follow the video. I personally do not like to use baking powder much, so I must have reduced in the video. I want even kids to enjoy my dishes, so I avoid using unhealthy ingredients as much as possible.
