      Lol, so many sales people sure dont seem to know anything about their stuff. RV inspection and repair is something I do regularly so we have a good idea how most of them work, but salespeople really should do their homework more often.

      Mortons, did you stop to think about their bosses being very demanding? If you worked in retail (and yes, selling cars and RVs would be part of retail), you are expected by MANY managers to "stick to the script." They don't care about the facts, they just want to follow a dumb script. Example: I used to work at one of the big 3 office suppliers and wanted to sell laptops. It was easy until the dumb corporate office gave me a warning: you are to follow the script or you will be out of here. You are to discuss only the new Core microprocessor and let the customer decide later on whether they want this or that feature." No suprise: my sales dropped. I transferred out of that department and moved to furniture. Same crap there. Sometimes the dumb script is about bragging your butt off about this "cool new feature" and ignoring everything else. For example, when the Roadtrek released the world's first Class B with a rear slide, I KNOW a few salespeople were forced to ignore all its other features and focus on bragging about the slide as much as possible. I quit retail because I was so fed up with being shackled and held back by management and corporate. It's like that everywhere if you're in retail. Just remember, it's not always the employees. Look at how their bosses treat them first before thinking they're incompetent. Some of the smartest, brightest people I've met used to work in retail. They were smart because they got out when they saw that it's a job where you're stuffed into a corner with not a shred of wiggle room. No wonder people are looking for jobs but ignore the stores that are understaffed. There's a reason for that...

  • @devitomichael

    LOVE this layout! The eating area with its view out the front windows of the unit seems to me to be the most efficient as well as aesthetic use possible for that space. The steps leading up to the kitchen which overlooks the rest of the layout seems logical and gives everything a flowing and natural residential feel...

    This is the RV we have, and we love it. It's roomy enough for my two grown sons and their kids and wives to come camping with us on occasion. We traded our new Grand Design Solitude for this one the minute I laid eyes on that kitchen. I'm able to make meals and be a bit separated from the crowd in the living room, but still able to join in the conversation. We travel mostly just the two of us and our three dogs. This is our favorite RV we've ever owned.

    We bought this fifth wheel last year and we love it !!!
    Having the kitchen up front is so nice and it stays cool nicely. Although our Bassit hounds struggled a bit going up the stairs to the kitchen but now they are experts ❤
    We did but a dog ramp for them for entering the rig which we leave at the back steps.
    To answer a couple of your questions ..yes the bed lifts up and when the slides are in you can only access the bathroom and hallway. But I can access the kitchen but not my 6'1 230 lb. Hubby ..
    Honestly it's a really nice 5th wheel ..

    Great video. Thank you.
    This is one of the better FK models. Others have a very awkward and poorly layed out FK. One thing I absolutely hate, and this goes for 99% of all RVs, is their use of standard cabinet doors for areas where two doors would be better. See @ 7:01 . Higher end units have less of this cost saving cheapness. But, as you can see, they do it too. Two doors or three little raised lip shelves, on each side of the door for rolled towels, would have been much nicer. The newer version of this model will see the bed slide exteneded to include the vanity, and the door to the bathroom. Depending on how they reconfigure the bathroom we'll see either a larger shower or dual vanity. We'll likely see bathrooms similar to those in the new 3810 series for the first model revision. A dual vanity could come in futher revision when the dinette is moved to the door side allowing the rest of the kitchen to move forward 20-30 inches. This change will enable the living room to moved forward as well. Thus the bathroom can be enlarged to include a double vanity and larger shower. These are exciting times in the RV industry. We're seeing fantastic new technology, features, and ever expanding interiors like never before. Of course if you own or operate an RV park or campground, these expanding homes on wheels are taking up more and more room. Unless you have the means to improve site conditions, this is becoming an issue with more widebody rvs with deeper slides. Relatives of mine reduced one row by four sites, on the full hookup side, when they had to redo the utilities, on that row, three years ago. They offset the lost income from those sites by charging 33% more than the narrower sites. Once word got out about these wider sites they were and continue to be booked out for over two years. This spring they're redoing another row because demand and feedback is so great. These sites now typically have couples rather than families. Retirees and couples like this quieter section. And my cousins have seen a drop in electrical usage on that row thanks to four fewer rvs and new RVs having full LEDs. They're currently trying to buy the neighbors house and property to add a family side to the park with a pool, clubhouse, and sport court so they can make the existing side all larger sites for today's RVs. Seems it a great time to own an RV park/campground. So long as rv storage facilities remain somewhat affordable and financing continues to include 20yr loans, more campgrounds are needed to fill the growing need.
    Ok. I got a little too chattie.
    Cheers

  • @chrischapman276
    @chrischapman276 Před 4 lety

    Very slick! I don't have one as large nor as new but a 2006 Terry 330FKDS (front kit/double slide). It does us well at this time, not being full timers being the 33ft with the king bed in the rear with it's own door, shower/sink in the center, open to the hallway with pocket door leading to the living room/kit/dining room and then accordion door for the bath/bath separation. Shitter is in it's own pocket with swinging door, noting the way that door slides is a very nice idea oppose to ours.
    These new coaches are certainly much more thought out than the earlier years, as close to the 06 to an, example, 16.
    We do love the front kitchen and rear bed. The storage in the Terry's are superb and plenty. We still have space in it, even when we were on our 2 1/2 week adventure

Believe it or not nasty spirits exist and the strong ones pack a big electrical punch. Usually I wouldn't say anything I am a Deacon and I love looking at 5th wheels trailers etc.. Well one day I was on an RV dealership website in Texas and man the photos had some crazy images that well.. were no supposed to be there. Gotta point this out as no one has mentioned it. What happens when you score a back-in space with a fabulous view? With this layout, that view is enjoyed only when in bed. The front kitchen, while novel, gives you a view of the road. I give designers points for trying something new. However, if I score a spot with a choice view, I don't want to sleep through it only. I'd like to enjoy it during the day too. Know what I mean? (Motorhomes, naturally, have the ability to pull in nose first should the situation warrant.)

I kept my cool and he left while the whole time he had his hand in his backpack. He has my husbands drill case in his other hand. Later that night he pulled s gun on a man in a wheelchair. Stay away from any RV from Keystone, including the Montana line. The quality is not there, their customer service is famous for being one of the worst in the industry and you'll have nothing but problems. Do your research. Go on to one of the popular RV forums and talk to others. Montana's use to be a good unit but not any more.

      CMDR Phreedom RVs have always been a hit and miss. Doesnt matter the brand or model.

      There Cougar is also bad quality. And they do not stand behind what they sell. Once they get their money your screwed.

    We loved the floorplan on this unit until we saw just how little external storage there was. That was a deal breaker for us.

    Unique design but since a lot of time is spent in the kitchen by my wife I don't like she would like the low ceiling in the kitchen?? I would rather have that low ceiling in the master bedroom where all you real do in there is sleep and get dressed for the most part.

    • @MortonsontheMove
      @MortonsontheMove  Před 7 lety +2

      That's a good point, with higher ceiling in the kitchen you can build in taller cabinets ceiling fans etc... But hey most class A's only have ceilings that high throughout. We thought this was a new concept, but recently saw a old rig with a front kitchen... I think it was an Alfa... or maybe a Teton homes, not sure.

    I was told by an RV sales agent that you shouldn't use the bed or walk on the slide floors when its in. It's not supported properly and will be damaged!

    • @MortonsontheMove
      @MortonsontheMove  Před 6 lety

      I think it depends on the RV, our bed is on a metal rail and I's supported in or out.

    He totally skipped the living room which is the part I wanted most to see. I am full time and currently live in a 40''r and a recording studio in the living area. Looks like I'll have to go see one of these to find out if the living room is a decent size. bummer

    We looked at a few of these last year, but the really short ceiling in the kitchen made it feel claustrophobic ( versus a shorter ceiling in the bedroom which doesn't matter much since you're laying down). A tall ceiling in the bedroom seems like a waste of space. Look at the clearance above Tom's head in the BR vs the kitchen. And the prospect of going up and down the stairs many times a day was not desirable. I know a lot of people love this layout, but it wasn't for us.

    • @MortonsontheMove
      @MortonsontheMove  Před 7 lety

      I would agree with that, most of us are spoiled in fifthwheels with the headroom, Most class A's and travel trailers have short ceilings too tho. Shorter people may like it because all the cabinets are easily accessible

    I've seen one other 5th wheel with the front kitchen. I like it but on the other one you couldn't make the dining area into a bed. Disappointing. How about this one?

  • @Erin-Thor
    @Erin-Thor Před 5 lety

    But... There’s a REASON why most trailers and 5th wheels don’t put windows on the front... THEY BREAK! LOL! And when they do, they are NOT cheap to replace. Heck, even Airstreams have rock guards OVER the front windows.
