Think ivory vs white, gold vs silver, warm vs cool toned (undertone!), high vs low contrast. It’s basically tricking peoples eyeballs to find you attractive because the little things like jewelry or clothing color shades that compliment your undertone vs the ones that make you look “sickly” or “washed out” really do make a difference. YSL Mon Paris? First release/vintage bottles often smell better than reformulations. I've had some bottles that I sold on eBay for a big load of bucks because people were looking for the older formulations. I think newer perfumes, even expensive ones, don't often hold up as well because of all the synthetics used in them, but older ones often smell super nice. I even have perfumes from the 80s and 90s that smell good because I store them well. Just make sure your bottle is away from heat and light, which will make it deteriorate faster. As long as it still smells nice, and it doesn't have a sour and/or rancid note (you will be able to tell, it's pretty obvious), it is still fine.
And perfume is SOOOO expensive these days. The prices have jumped like crazy in the past decade. I used to be able to treat myself every once in while, but nowadays, I always have to wait for rewards or coupons. Or I just buy those smaller travel sprays.

I don't even own this one, but I remember when it was first released, and sniffed it in store. I should sample this again, since I'm not remembering the scent.
