The best part was that you could TELL grian was just waiting for him to turn around
The fact he didn’t die and was being chased was impressive
Scar always gets to be part of the best moments
It was like movie when the audience knows the danger and what’s about to happen but the person has no clue until the last moment aka scar
As challenging as this task was, it's still nowhere near as challenging as preventing Scar from taking more than 3 hearts of damage by the end of the session.

There is so much here. The reason Mumbo died to the warden was because he was stopped by the very fence posts he tried to use to stop another person in a previous episode. There is so much cross episodes story telling with it all being completely unintentional.

Watching Etho run over the hill with a warden chasing him, while Grian makes small talk with Scar was the highlight of my week.
That was actually hilarious.
Just having a completely normal conversation as everyone slowly see's the Warden and freak out was hilarious.

Absolutely killed me how throughout the whole episode we were looking at the other people doing their goofy shenanigans and Grian and Etho being confused by it while they were literally plotting the end of the world.
For how much death happened in one session, the chaos of the Wither vs. Warden was just so funny. Running around trying to find the Wither, Scar's just chanting "help" and running around. dkshg
I'm still at awe with how the most danger prone person on the server who has a history for dying so fast and in so many dumb ways was able to near effortlessly survive the wither mad dogging him for like 10 minutes straight. You'd think Scar would have found a way to somehow die but he did surprisingly well lol.

Genuinely hilarious that every time Grian looked over to the Wither it was, without fail, chasing Scar.
I know you guys probably don’t take suggestions for the next series but I have an idea: Cramped Life. The world border starts at a fraction of its normal size and players can do different tasks to expand it. At the end of the session, the border shrinks but can get no smaller than it was at the start of the season. The border also shrinks if someone dies or a Red completes their task.

Not a bad idea but I doubt they'd do tasks specifically again. The border thing though is REALLY really good
oh i wish the world border could be unique to players instead of every player having same border also that you could place on outside of the player based portals then this would potentially work. then i would have this: everybody would have world border which starts on same spot,but as series goes on it starts to shrink and more you die/time runs, it would shrink. and if you die when the world border has shrunk entirely to minimum for player, you are gone.
Wow, I had a very similar idea myself, Shrinking Life. Border would be much larger than it usually is, say twice as large in latitude and longitude as it usually is, but every death makes it smaller, until it becomes 1/8 the size of what it is normally or 1/16 the size in relation to that series' border, making it a deathmatch within very tight area where camping is nigh impossible.
40:45 is the scene that made this episode. just...scar obliviously chatting while grian unmovingly looks behind him at Etho, running from the Warden, even after BigB shouts. perfection.

From a storytelling standpoint, this is a cinematic masterpiece. Everything in the video that led up to the climax so perfectly complimented the story.

Task idea: Arrange a funeral for the fallen players, have the fallen players write their own eulogies, you have to say exactly what they wrote verbatim. Sing them a heartfelt song at the end of the funeral. You are only allowed to tell 1 person about the event, but can’t tell them to pass it along.. The goal is to have everyone attend without hearing it from you.

The looming dread in both Etho's and Grian's episodes while doing their tasks and knowing they have no choice but to doom the server with it is such GREAT unintentional storytelling (Mumbo's task too!). Watching the second half of everyone else's episodes is so dramatic after watching these first. The fiction is writing itself, and it's playing out like a movie. It's so great!
You can't manufacture stories like this much better either. My favorite part of the life series is the epic collaborations and politics that spring up from them. This was so good and you couldn't script this any better than it turned out.
I do get that all the tasks are somewhat scripted, but this is was absolutely perfect that the double hall monitor moment brought Etho and Grian together for a collab task like this.
Speaking of watching the second half of everyone else's, it's weird how BDubs' episode 6 cuts juuuuust before Grian and Etho summon the Wither. I wonder what happened there.
Truly, this is the hero's journey.

Secrete Task Suggestion. Give EVERYONE the same task. Have the task be "act and do as sketchy and weird as possible. Get at least 3 people to question you and you succeed". Pretty much be BigB and gaslight everyone. Wasn't the first time this was suggested but imagine the chaos if EVERYONE had this.
The seasons over but I have an idea similar to this
One person's task is similar to Mumbo's but opposite (you can talk to 1 person but not a group) and everyone else's task is "you are that person's butler. They can know but no one else"
Task idea: everyone can guess your task, however, you don’t have one. Your only goal is to not get called out. You succeed at the end of the session or when everyone has guessed.

To save Mumbo, it was possible for Grian to break a portion of the bridge to let Mumbo ride the strider. Quick thinking is hard, though, so I understand.

Task Idea:
You are open to a second opinion this session. When you are attempting to do something, ANYTHING, you must first ask the nearest green name. The way you "ask" can be different. You can use "Can I?" "Should I?" "Would I?" etc. You don't have to follow what they say, you just have to ask first. If there are no green names present in your general area that you see of, you don't have to ask anyone anything and you can just directly do it. You only fail if yellow names correctly guess the fact that you are getting a second opinion from GREEN NAMES specifically. You can bait yellows by also asking yellow or red names this session as well. You also fail if you forget to "ask" more than 5 times this session.

The number of "strikes" can be adjusted to 3, kept at 5 or increased to 10. I don't know how hard this task is going to be, so I am leaving that adjustment to the admins. It can be any number.

Scar is danger prone. Something is so damn fitting having Scar clueless running towards the Wither, gaining agro and getting chased by the Wither for like 10 mins is just amazing lol. I'm surprised he survived that mess. Scar is somehow the unluckiest and luckiest person there

Dude it was the first minecraft ressurect that you could not respawn, because you gained hearts after losing all your hearts and it broke completely. Also its hilarious that Grian and Etho caused carnage, losing three reds, and Mumbo was one of them, who was just supposed to be along for the ride when Grian and etho got the Wither and Warden fighting at spawn task.
