    I cannot believe you guys are allowed to take notes into the exam!! In UK you are only allowed ONE book - Statutes. No notes, no other books, no cases, nothing. Everything has to be memorised.

      I think the logic behind it is that the exams are testing to see how you apply information, not necessarily if you can memorize information which you have hopefully demonstrated by getting good enough grades in University to get into a Law program. You still definitely need to have a good grasp of the material as you won't have time to walk into that exam with your notes and nothing learned in advance.

    Your videos are really helpful! I'm doing my undergrad right now. I got to see University of Ottawa when I was on a student government trip there and it is beautiful! Ottawa is really beautiful. I'm from Vancouver so I'm hoping to go to UBC. But it's nice to see a Canadian law school student since it's more relatable.

    can you make a video on how you make your notes and summaries? like do you write your own notes right after each lecture? how do you find time? or do you only make these summaries when you have an exam coming up? i have a hard time keeping up with my professors. i study civil engineering but i always find myself behind in class. in lectures i have my notebook and i write everything the professor says but when i get home i don't really have time to review my class notes or write my own notes separately, and thus i fall behind in every class and get really stressed out before the exams. i wanna follow your method as it looks very organized, so a video explaining your method of studying (how you type your notes, when you print them out, how you prepare for your classes and such) would be very appreciated! best of luck

    • @lynnea4782
      @lynnea4782  Před 7 lety

      I take notes on the readings before class, and then I take notes in class as well. I use my notes as my summary, so I don't re-write them, I just take out the stuff I don't need. I print everything about a week before my exam, to study from. And I rarely review my notes after class - I don't have time for that either!

    We did that in our exams where you are given a scenario and you have to figure out is the plaintiff right to bring this case to court and then you have to say what has been done wrong against him and then you have to describe what action has to take place afterwards . Enjoyed those type of questions

      Law is almost always open book. you don't have to know every single law by heart. you can use a 'codex' and the legislation

    • @a.j.hernandez3537
      @a.j.hernandez3537 Před 7 lety +3

      I'm in law school and I've only had one class that had an open book test. I know you don't need to know every single law by heart. However, you need to memorize basic rules and know how to apply them. In my experience and my understanding is that open book law school exams are uncommon, they are certainly not the norm.
