Beetle juice and of course Time Warp was the best party
footloose
The toga party in “Animal House”
The Charleston from Its a wonderful life. Fun dance competition ending in people jumping in the school pool. Not super long, but enjoyable.
Time Warp should have been #1. I would have chosen America from 1961 West Side Story and Mambo from 2021 West Side Story. America from 2021 wasn’t bad but Rita Moreno on the roof has that one beat. And where’s Dirty Dancing?
Hairspray deserves an honorable mention at least. 💯
Both versions, truth to tell.
And here I thought that dirty dancing was going to be on this list
Especially since they had more than one great dance scene.
Me too
They didn't know that they could put other scene than the final one, cause that one wasn't from a dance party per se, but the "I carried a watermelon" scene was. And it was epic and awesome.
Ditto
@@byronbutterfield that's a line from Ghost 😁
The "Mambo" scene in _West Side Story_ is still one of the best, most well choreographed scenes in any movie ever.
The original.
Also America was better in the original. It was good in the remake but nobody tops Chita as Anita 💕
Chita Rivera was Anita on stage, but Rita Moreno was in the film. @@Cdsens
The scene that sticks out the most to me is in Grease from 1978. The scene where all of the students dance to Born to Hand Jive is amazing. John Travolta tore the floor up in that scene. My honorable mention: John Travolta dancing to You should be dancing in Saturday Night Fever. Also forgot about the dance to the Irish jig in Titanic. That is incredible! Just thought of another one - Sorority sisters and brothers in a sorority house in the movie Drumline.
Yes John Travolta in any movie even in Urban Cowboy he had dance moves!
Yes! Beetlejuice dinner dance scene is the best along with Shake Señora with Lydia
I thought the staff party from dirty dancing would be here. Even as just an honorable mention. Or the blues brothers bit that becomes a street party during shake a tail feather
Yea I'm surprised Dirty Dancing isn't on here.
Dirty dancing and Happy Feet were my expectations.
I still love the “time warp!” It was & still is awesome !!!
8:14, Ha, of course that The Rocky Horror Picture Show would somewhat make it onto the List right now at some point.
I still own the film on DVD.
How can anyone choose? Actually one of my favourite dance scenes was in the movie "The King and I".
I adore "Footloose", it may be silly and corny, but it's hard not to want to dance along during the triumphant ending! "Hey, I thought this was a party! Let's dance!" 💃
Are ya kidding? I only have to hear the song and I'm on.. it happened once in a grocery store and I started shakin' tush to the rhythm and singing along... not Broadway musical style, but still.. my mom was amused. Now if the song comes along at a party... let's just say it was better when there were no phone cameras and easy internet, cause I had no problems bustin' a move then LOL.
When I turn 30, I'm going to recreate the Thriller dance myself. 13 Going On 30 is so much fun!
Do it!, turning 30 is great, Im in my late 30s
Gotta add Romy & Michelle's high school reunion... ballet?... to Time After Time, one of my favorite "WTF" moments
Where's the staff party scene from Dirty dancing? I would gladly work at the holiday camp to have that party every night
No Opening number from moulin rouge? The lady marmalade/cha cha/smells like teen spirit party scene. Jim Broadbent/Zidler rocked it!
Thriller in 13 Going on 30.
How did Mama Mia not make this list?! Tell me you can't sit still during Take A Chance on Me!
I can... musicals don't count much, unless it really looks like a party tbh.
How about Cuban Pete from the mask... or the night club scene with him and Tina
The dance scenes in The Blues Brothers awesome too - Ray Charles Shake Your Tail Feathers
Hard to believe the Blues Brothers didn't even receive a mentions. The film has so many iconic musical moments but for random dance party moments, Shake a Tail Feather stands out.
The backstreet boys dance was awesome😂👍💜
missed opportunity to use "I want it that way"... for context and also because Doug Judy was there.
I have 2 more I love. The Ball scene in Labyrinth where Sarah and Jareth share a haunting dance and The Mask where Stanley leads the police in a hilarious dance.
Aahh yes... Cuba Pete scene was genius.
@@m0t0b33 Ah thanks, I could not remember the name of that song.
The Mask scene is amazing!
The “Shake it up baby” from Ferris Beuller would be a good addition to the list.
The song is called “Twist and Shout.”
@@Jeremiah_Rivers76 Thanks. Couldn’t recall the title for the life of me!
I really liked the wedding dance scene from The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Wonderful movie.
Agreed!!
Thriller # 2 BUT HANDS DOWN YOU MUST KNOW THE TIME WARP or you have never been drunk! lol but the uptown funk video puts all the moves to groove together in one big dance! I'm up and dance! Thanks Mojo
Rip Olivia newton John
Footloose, every time I hear that song I dance
What?? Nothing from Dirty Dancing?? You actually need a top 20 list because this number 1 topper is not a good one. There are many dance moves over many decades like Saturday Night Fever, Rent, Xanadu and way more that should've been on this list!
The dance scene from Shes All That is one of my favs. The dance they did is so cool
I'm still reeling cause I forgot Usher was in it. But to be fair, I like the parody better. Makes the cringy scenes more bearable.
@@m0t0b33 Yeah, i like Usher too.
“Make em laugh” is one of the most incredible dance scenes of all time, those actors weee singing, dancing and doing their own stunts! Ludicrous these days!!
I absolutely love that scene!!! What makes it even more fantastic is that Donald O'Connor was sick as a dog when filming that scene. You would never have guessed it
Dancing Queen dance from both Mama Mias, Dirty Dancing
The Time whorp will always be number one for me.
Time warp, Especially as I remember doing it in a really packed Greek Bar and everybody joining in. Great night don't even think the wait staff had had so much fun, we must have done it three times in a row. (Dance!!!!)
There are so many, I don’t think you can do a list like this with just 10. First, John Travolta was in just one? No way!…what about Saturday Night Fever? Iconic! Plus at least an honorable mention for his dance with Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction. Dirty Dancing should make the list too., as others mentioned. Also, the movie “Fame” when the students took their dance to the streets of New York.
-The Nicholas Brothers legendary tap performance from Stormy Weather
-Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines in White Nights (Gregory Hines in any movie lol)
-Shirley Temple and Bojangles in the Little Colonel
-Flashdance (the Audition)
-Seven Brides for Seven Brothers when they did the dance on logs
And I’m sure there are many more that I don’t know or can’t recall.
Let's not forget the dance parties from the "Look who's talking movies". Travolta really kicked butt there too, and I'm pretty sure he was the one to "blame" for the existence of those scenes. Also, the dance party ( pretty sure it was the cast at that point, not the characters) at the end of "When in Rome". was fun too. Also the club scene from Step Up, when they hit the floor to "Til the dawn"... oh and Center Stage b-day party... or the impromptu dance party at that studio... that looked super fun and it made me jealous I didn't have a dance studio in my town... or in the vicinity for that matter.
Great list! But you’re forgetting one really incredible movie dance scene! The opening to the movie “Climax” is definitely one of my favorite dance scenes in all of movie history!! It’s a tough movie to watch, but the visuals and dance sequences are ones you won’t ever forget!!
Gaelic Storm is the band in 3rd class in the Titanic movie. They are awesome.
Oh I love that song... you just can't sit still on it.. even if you're not Irish, or don't know the steps LOL.
This one was spot on.
"Voulez-Vous" from Mamma Mia
“Super Trouper” from Mamma Mia: Here we go again
“Lady Marmalade” from Moulin Rouge!
How about the mamma Mia films or jai Ho from slumdog millionaire?
Dirty Dancing should have been in this. Some of the old ones like Fred Astaire and those folks should have been in here also.
Bettlejuice dance scene is hilarious, I laugh every time 😂😂
Ferris & the parade!!!
It's a Wonderful Life: the prom dance when the pool opens up; the bottle dance in Fiddler on the Roof wedding party
"These moves haven't been matched in 100 years" and it doesn't get 1st place. Hellzapoppin is so much more than a dance movie, it's a historical breakthrough!
Also, where is a golden classic like Dirty Dancing? Or an unsuspected masterpiece like the dancing scene from 2012 Keira Knightley's Anna Karenina (not the most historically accurate, but what a beautifully depicted dramatic tension!)
Lots of these I can agree with. Of course you guys might've forgotten:
.We Did It Remix from Dora and the Lost City of Gold
.It's Time to Dance from The Prom
.Boho Days from Tick Tick Boom
.Bennie and the Jets from Rocketman
.The Club from In The Heights
.If All the Raindrops from Barney's Great Adventure
.You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray
Huh? Are those with dance party scenes or just dance scenes?
Where's "A Night to Remember" from High School Musical 3?
I was kinda surprised that the dance scene from WHITE CHICKS didn't at least get a honorable mention!!!
Oh yeah.. who can forget the dance off?
"Shake a Tale Feather" - The Blues Brothers
Hollywood canteen scene - 1941
Yes!! I did a dance recital number to this when I was 10, it was the biggest number of the night! Also, 1981, not 1941....
@@MsMarvelDuckie Two different movies - "The Blues Brothers" and "1941"
@@jrlexjr Shake your tail feather wasn't in 1941, afaik. The actors were, but not the song. The version in the Blues Brothers wasa cover song used by Ray Charles in 1980. The original was written in 1963. It wouldn't have existed in WW2, when the 1941 movie is set.
sorry to nitpick, but it's "Rockafeller Skank" in "She's All That", not "Funk Soul Brother" (though there are admittedly plenty of fans who call it that)
How did the MANY dance numbers from Xanadu not at least get an honorable mention??! Id have put the finale dance party on the list for sure!
So I would think Saturday night fever would be on the list. Mama Mia would also be in top ten. Honorable mention for flash dance and Gillys bar dance in urban cowboy.
I love the dance scene from Knights tale…. Bad guy:show us a dance from your country sir Uric . David Bowie : let me handle this…. GOLDEN YEARS,,,,
like in the movie The Black Knight ( not a Batman movie, the comedy with Martin Lawrence)... similar scene, but hip-hop.
Footloose number 6! It should be number 1
Sadly forgotten is the ending of STRICTLY BALLROOM. Epic Pasa Doble
Oh you’re talking about Tim Curry
I absolutely LOVE Swing Kids. One of my top 5 favorites.
I would like to have seen the last dance from Dirty Dancing.
Loved these movies but did you consider the dance club scenes in Breakin’ or the club scene swing dance in A League of Their Own?
WoW!!! love this!!
Barn raising party from 7 brides for 7 brothers. Mary Poppins, Chim, chiminey. Many crowd dance scenes from Elvis movies, Rogers and Hammerstein movies. So many other classic movies. Street dance from Ferris Beuller.
The "theme song rap" scene from Fat Albert the movie has to be my favorite HEY! HEY! HEY! 🤣💕🎶
Bootmen and Stomp the Yard both have awesome dances, that I watch over and over.
Huge miss not having Dirty Dancing on the list.
Exactly!
I thought the same thing, then clicked on the above pinned link to their top 20 dance scenes from 80's movies and guess who's number 1? Guess they wanted fresh scenes for this, though come on, can't really be number on of the 80's and not close to the top of this list, but okay.
You missed two of my favorite ensemble numbers: You Can't Stop the Beat - Hairspray (2007) and We're All In This Together - High School Musical.
Glad to see the house party dance on here
This list makes me want to have a dance party!!
C'mon. No Clerks 2? Okay, maybe not worthy of this list but still one of the most unexpected and fun dance scenes ever.
The street party in "Fame?". I thought "Time Warp" would be #1
This is the End rocked!
Well deserved #1 pick 😁
Some top picks there for sure! My honourable mention would be the Train station dance at the end of 'Slumdog Millionaire' which always makes me want to run off and sign up for the nearest Bhangra class!
the dance/argument in man up between Lake Bell & Simon Pegg was not only a good dance scene it was also hilarious 🤣
I think RRR should be included... It's recent and I realize it's foreign, but it's AMAZING!!! There's a reason Natu, Natu, Natu won best song!!
Is that the French one with the cave people? No, wait, that one has more Rs.... but if you're looking for a funny movie, I recommend it. Also, Les Visiteurs. But they're kinda older so...
Bowtie from Idlewild. That scene is SO BEAUTIFUL.
Every Bollywood movie ever.
Obviously order could be debated and even a few bumped completely for a personal favorite not listed but ultimately we all love a good dance scene. When it makes you want to get up and dance - even when you know you have no rhythm whatsoever- you have to love it!
They actually got the backstreet boys that is so badass
Never heard of the top two, so basically the time warp wins.
I'm shocked that no one has mentioned "Ninja Rap" in TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze. 🤣🤣🤣
One of my favorites s 'The First Time It Happens' from The Great Muppet Caper.
Too bad "I'm a believer" ended up as an honorable mention , but, it was a nice top nonetheless. Happy thursday afternoon Ms Mojo, take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Parade Dance - Twist and Shout
All classics❤
You forgot the dancing in the baseball movie with the women! Women in baseball!😂😮😅😊
What about “White Chicks”? The Wayans brothers break dancing is epic!
That’s actually one of my favorite ones and has me Beetlejuice two
I thought the dance scene at the end of Slumdog Millionaire would get included.
Holly crap I felt like dancing along with every song
500 days of Summer You Make my Dreams Come True
I vote for the ending of Scooby Doo: Monsters Unleashed. The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas, Muppets Most Wanted & Hairspray (2007).
Perhaps the staff party from Dirty Dancing?
I was thinking of "Tricky" from White Chicks.
Funk soul brother, she's all that
WHAAAAT!!!!…no African Anteater Ritual Dance from Can’t Buy Me Love??? Well the list officially blows
Hairspray should have been mention.
I agree it be heaven if BSB there
Stormy Weather (1943) Nicholas Brothers
For the next list you have to check out The Nicolas Brothers, they are truly amazing dancers.
It doesn't have the choreography like most on this list, but one of my favorites is Hey Mama from Bad Moms
Many of my faves are on this list!! But...ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is where it's at 😊
What crackes me up every time is that Gelderland is a real province of the Netherlands.
And his knight name is Urlich von Lichtenstein, which means he's Sir Ulrich of Lichtenstein. The tournament took place in Rouen, and yet all the knights ( and the announcers) spoke perfect English. The movie is filled with inaccuracies for comic relief. The part that cracks me up the most is at the end of the movie, after the credits. First time I saw it, I laughed so hard I had to run to the bathroom. Quite the element of surprise.
The roof scene in Clerks 2
