Been a Volvo nut me whole life but I’ve never seen a car done quite like this! Absolutely class work. The carburettor intake was something I hadn’t seen before, really trick setup with the charge piping. Love the colour too 940s look great in blue. Great car lad!

B230 is a solid motor. Seen a few built with then 8v block and 16v head…that’s damn interesting.
As much as I love a turbo, I’m leaning more toward an N/A 240 with trumpets and a lumpy ass cam
For sure an n/a with big trumpets is damn cool! Currently on with engine transplanting an old car with a modern engine but maybe next project might be a high compression na with some big trumpets, check out the build series on my channel of the escort

@cubegears yes bigger inlet and exhaust valves, inlet and outlets ported amd throated as much as possible. The turbo is the limit really. Bigger blower and crank It up to 2 bar and it would see some good numbers I think.

It's cool but drives me insane as its so loud there's no driving quietly. Will be changed soon
@@NAWFABZ I have a dump in my fender, but I also have it recirculating as well. The normal wastegate opens and recirculates to the full exhaust, but when you start making big power it opens the fender dump. Best of both worlds...quiet when you want, and rowdy when you give it the business.

Yea bigger inlet and exhaust valves, ported, race cam, bottom completely stock minus maxspeeding rods and a refresh had new pistons and a rebore, block is o ringed with copper o rings on an mls gasket. It originally had stainless rings on a elring composite but blew ir twice to switched to mls and had no issues since.
Fyi you can probably get your stock speedo to work if you want. There's been a few turbobricks threads on converting vss signals using old volvo overdrive circut boards. Sick build though!

Affraid very difficult for me to do as I'd need the use of a donor car to build one on. Something I don't have access to as there's not many a4 1.8t here in the UK they mostly scrapped ha

@@NAWFABZ I have an Audi A4 B5 BTCC rep that I can't decide what engine to drop in. It's an 1.8 tqs. I'd love to put a V10 in it. The reg is V842 though! 🤔I have a V8 for it!🤔
Another project is an Audi 90 coupe Quattro 20vt. I want to drop the old cast iron 5 pot turbo and put in a new 5 pot from a late RS3 /TTRS alloy block. Takes 40kg off the front end of an already quiet light vehicle.
Then I have a B6 Quattro TDI 2.5 that has 350bhp and smokes like a power station 😆😅😂. An returns shishh mpg😡
So I have a B8 3.0 TDI Quattro to use as a doner vehicle. I reckon if I take the 3.0 300bhp out of the near 2 tone B8 I get 50 mpg out of and drop it in a 1650kg B6 I should be able to get way more mpg and some good performance too with 500 lb torque.😘😘

Bangin build bro! I did the opposite of you and went from hx40 down to a hy35 as the up top lag sucked, also got rid of the screamer as yeah gets pretty old after a while hahah. You running chopped springs or coilovers?
Thanks alot :) yea hx40 way to laggy but my little 2860 is abit too small need a gt30 so I can bump it up into 400bhp area. Yra the screamer it's a love /hate. But I'm going to change it shortly! It's on lowering springs at the moment! As much as i want coilovers after riding in my pals his is soooo boucy. Mine...it's still comfy as hell 🤣🤣🤣🤣
