Ive used a 535i for 7 years now and its the first saw out of the truck when we arrive onsite. Yes you cannot drag it roughly out of a pinched limb but they are rugged. We pull trees from rivers[flood prevention] and its been swinmming a few times and still works fine. You can get a wrenchless thumb wheel chain tensioner from Husqy aftermarket. It’s sturdier than the single bolt system. Batteries can die after 4 or five years and chargers can drop dead too with no warning. They both hate being stored in sub zero temperatures but I’ve revived seemingly dead batteries by gently heating them to 90 F. Alway blow the battery and the saw through with a good airline. I spray WD40 on the guide bar every time i put it away but that mostly from working in water. It will cut underwater to 12” ! Kieran. UK

Do you work in Indiana man I need some Log jams cut out of some of the rivers here. I’m a kayaker and that’s really helpful.

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle czcams.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

I am not saling Stihl in any meaning, but I suggest you investigate more.
I have the Stihl GTA26, 161T, 220C, MSA300 and the Trimmer 135, you need compare both brands side by side considering the models power.
3.5 years ago when I buy the Stihl 220C witch at the time was the top model it was about 200 Euros cheaper than the Husky 540iXP so I went for the Stihl, afther that sense I already have the battery charger and batteries I continue with Stihl and so far I never have any problem with either model.
For what I see in some videos the Stihl MSA300 beats up the Husky 540iXP in power and speed, however seems like the battery last longer in the Husky.
Now a question remains, can the Stihl in one battery in a shorter time cut as much as the husky in one battery? I have no idea and just for the matter I with love to set and teste both side by side regardless witch with win.
In my case I not know anyone here that have a Husky but maybe you can have someone with a Husky and other with Stihl, if you do and they tested let me know witch brand is preferable, in my case make no difrence because I already fully invested in Stihl but is always good to know.
After switching over to battery power I sale 1 Husky, 1 Stihl chainsaws and 1 Stihl trimmer all gas power, just keep my old Husky 162 for memory, I take it to a Husky dealer and ask for a full mecanical review they did, just change some minor things like the gas cap, etc. and tell me to go out in the woods the saw is in full performance, so I come home set it in the garage but not use it anymore, I not use and not either sale it I keep it for memory.

I am using EGO for electric rechargeales. My EGO chainsaw is of their first generation and a bit behind current offerings, yet still meets my application for it; cuttiing bar-b-cue smoking wood and treee top trimming, brush cutting. My EGO companion implements also include blower, string trimmer, and small sidewalk snowblower. So lots of utility and several bateries. If/when I replace I will look at Husqvarna pro series. One of my gas saws is a 572XP and that is well made as is their big bakpack blower I use.

Great video. I ordered a 540i xp about 3 months ago but unfortunately it is on back order. I did get a chance to run a 540i for about an hour this past January. In the meantime I bought a Stihl MSA 220, which I use for cutting out property lines. But in my opinion the Husqvarna 540i has considerable more power and is slightly better balanced. Both are great products however.

    • @sirvozelo1
      @sirvozelo1 Před rokem +1

I have the MSA 220 also, I never run the Husky 540i XP but for the videos I have see it seems more powerful than the MSA 220, I also have the MSA 300 and this one have nothing to do with MSA 220 is much faster and powerful I think it outruns the Husky, the downside are the batteries even with AP 500 S if run in full power very fast the battery is out of charge.
My MSA 220 use to have a 16" Rollomatic bar now I change for a 14" Light 04 is a little shorter but I can got little more speed and battery time.

Recently I buy the Stihl MSA 300, I can tell you this one is other thing. I have buy the 220 before but comparing the 220 with MSA300 is like comparing a Ford Fiesta with a Mustang GT. The only problem I find is that even with bigger battery the AP500 the battery is short of the saw. I hope stihl comes up with a beter battery this no doubt deserves it.

First time I’ve seen one of those. I thought the 540 was only available as a top handle.
On the whole, Husky’s 400 series are homeowner and builders’ saw. The older 300 and new 500 series are pro saws. There are exceptions though.

My 540i XP has a problem with the venting valve in the oil tank. The valve locks closed and does not allow the entry of air with consequent blocking of the flow of oil towards the bar. I have to unlock the valve by inserting a tube into the tank and sucking with a syringe and finally I spray some WD40 into the tube. Did you notice the same issue?

I have huskvarna and sthil gas power chainsaws and now i just buy the sthil 220 battery power I buy the sthil primary because here in Portugal is about 200 Euros cheaper, for what i see, i don't think i can got those many cuts with sthil even with best battery the 300 S. You maybe better served then me. Also my sthill battery powered compared with others sthil gas seems like a chinese thing i mean to much cheap plastic.

The Specifications section of each model's web page has this information. In general it appears that the answer is "yes", with the T540i XP having less vibration than the 540i XP. Both of the models have less vibration than the gas 455 Rancher and the 435, for example. I haven't looked at all the models.
