I feel like the hardest parts of being a military child is having extended family that is stationary. whenever you go back you always feel so alienated and they will never forget that you’ve not lived in a place for more than three years.

I don’t like being a military brat. The military messed up my parents and left me with no real friends till my senior year.

From, perhaps, a different generation, and a BRAT, I do hear you.

I used to be a military Brat myself, moving around many times... Hearing those kids talking about their struggles, while trying to act strong and positive, makes me sad and angry at the same time. When i look in their eyes, all i see a lot of pain, even if their mounth is wearing a smile. Looking back at my childhood, i honestly hated that lifestyle. I hate reading memes like "we're military brats, we feel home everywhere". No we don't! We just have to, and it's hard...

As being a Military Brat myself. It is really hard moving around every two to three years. But I feel like it is nice with some bases (I have only been on Army bases bc my dad is in the army and my mom is a veteran) some bases if there big enough then they have school with other military children so you can connect with them. But you and your friends eventually move away. I have always had to move every 10 months to a year. But when I had moved to Georgia I had stayed there for just about 4 years and it was so nice finally being somewhere long enough where I had real friends for a long while. I just moved to Texas and it is so hard. I want to go back to Georgia because Georgia is the only place I have had real friends. I was always too young in other places to make real friends or it was too hard because I was the weird kid that nobody got what I said (when I used army lingo) people would call me a Military Brat. At the time I didn't know that the term "Military Brat" was a good thing but I really got hurt bye it and it was hard. And I just moved too Texas and I will start 6thgrade in August. I don't want to go because I am in the area of a Military base but all the Military kids go to a different school.
But if you are a Military kid, Stay Strong, and keep moving on. I believe in you !💜💜💜

I move every 2 years and I've relisted in my life making friends gets you up or down for me I don't make that many because once you make them you move and often you don't talk to them again but there are allot of highs in being a brat and you get the best foods and the friends you do make will back you up through it all

At the end of my sophomore year I moved and missed out on the summer where all my friends can drive. They have already forgotten about me and I feel so alone.

Hang in there. I was a military brat too. I didn’t have a lot of support in the transitions of moving. What are your hobbies? I would join clubs everywhere you go, whether that be a sport, chess, drama, gaming etc. you got this, it’s a blessing in disguise.

Well I people don’t understand that life is so hard for us our education is also hard because we move to different places and new schools which makes it harder for me to make new friends and focus on studies

@@kristiekayser3409 I have cousins and their parents have business their families always used to make fun of us because my grades were bad and stuff like that the main reason was because we moved like a lot and changing schools was hard for me and the hardest part was to make new friends and study bec of that

I never understood the Steryotypes of Military Brats because most people in Active Duty/Reserves is in California where you don't have to move.
Both my Parents were Army National Guard.

This video reminded me of the highs and lows of being a military kid. We are resilient, unique, and the best people that you'll ever meet. #imovealot
