$450-500 would of been an optimal price for a Chinese made wader like these. $700 for Chinese made is ludicrous.

Great review. I’m almost looking forward to my current waders (G3’s) life to expire so I can get a pair of Skwala’s!

Nice to see that the waders come in all sizes...especially stout which are hard to come by.

The knee pad feature is really interesting! I ruined a pair of G3 casting from my knees in RMNP this fall. 🤕 Thanks for the review! 🎣

Sorry to hear that. I just got done with a 7 day trip and spent a lot of time casting off my knees for stealth and strong winds, plus I could drop to a knee to net and handle fish. Love this feature, and it's removable.

These as well as the other Skwala waders look incredible!!! I would love to get a pair but they are not in Canada.

The gravel guards look like storm cuffs on snowboard pants. I wish more manufactures did this. Most stockings are way too large as if they were designed to fit Christmas presents. Those look to have a much more form fitting stocking in comparison.

Yes, they fit the body well not a bunch of extra fluff. Super well cut to move with the angler.

Ha yea I hear ya. It's a solid wader and part of the price is every single pair is pressure tested for leaks. We've found their quality control to be incredible.

Shouldn’t any individual set be tested

If you want to send me a pair to test and keep let me know. I live in Michigan and fish hard in the winter months for Steelhead in some nasty conditions. Happy to help haha

I’m in the market for a new pair of waders. I was looking at the Patagonia swift current expedition waders but these have me thinking. I use my waders a lot and much more than the average guy so I need a wader that is tough. I don’t mind paying for quality if it’s there. What’s your thoughts between the two waders I’ve mentioned.

I am glad you asked. I was just fishing with a Chilean guide last week that has the Patagonia and if it has the shoulder strap connection that I'm thinking it does, where the hook slides into the loop, he HATED IT. Other than that he liked the waders, but was damn intrigued by the Skwala. I wore the BackEddy for 7 long days last week in Patagonia and loved it. I would have a tough time choosing between the RS and the BackEddy. The BackEddy is cut a bit slimmer IMO (although it is claimed they are built around the exact mold). I fished spring creeks where I have to cast from a kneeling position a lot and the internal knee pads were lifesavers.

Thanks for the response Joe. Looks like the Backeddy waders will be my summertime and shoulder season waders. Your reviews carry a lot of weight with me bud. @@redsflyshop
