"I actually landed that role because of my music. A producer from We Best Love heard ‘Blue Lover’ and wanted to use it as one of the soundtracks for the drama. He then saw me and asked if I could act. When I started at the talent agency in Taiwan, I wanted to focus on music more than anything else, but having taken acting lessons, I thought I would give it a go."

祈りのカルテでYUさんを知りました。その時は名前は知らず顔だけでした。しかしその後海外ドラマにハマり、なんとなくwe best loveを観たところ、シューイー役の人をどこかで観たことあるなと思い、その俳優の名前を検索したところ、祈りのカルテの谷川先生だと知りました。日本語ペラペラだった谷川先生が、シューイーとして中国語を話している事実に物凄く驚くと同時に、YUさんのプロフィールを知り、才能だけでなく大変な努力をしたんだろうなと推察しました。そして、この曲もまさかYUさんが歌ってるとは思わず、大変驚きました。
また、日本語ですがインタビューの映像も拝見しました。気の強いエリートの役の印象が強いですが、実際にお話されている様子はとても穏やかで温かみがあり、しかし芯を持った方なのだと感じました。これからもYUさんを応援しています。

I found Yu through WBL, he played his role Shu Yi very well! He is a great actor and singer, I could listen to his songs all day and night and never get bored which is pretty rare for me. I didn’t know this was Yu’s song the first time I heard it in the first season of the WBL series. I was drawn to the melody without realizing that the singer was actually Yu himself. Such a talented man he is. I think because the video of that song included the clip from the WBL that was not shown in the episodes and also the teaser for the second season was included. Everyone was curious. And this song of YU was chosen by the producer and YU that time was already done shooting of his MV. And when the producer saw the MV of YU she asked YU to audition for the role. That’s the start of acting career of YU. It’s amazing how they choose him. 😊

The first time I heard this song in wbl i got goosebumps literally the music, the song and the voice wow not knowing the fact it is sang by Yu himself. This man not only nailed the role but also he gave life to Shu Yi character through his acting and music. The fact that he got discovered through this song and then got casted for Shu Yi and now his talent is being recognized by the world this is what he truly deserves. ❤️

actually in a live the producer (i guess she is the producer sorry if I'm wrong) told to the fans that they found out about this song before the script was finished and they felt that the lyrics of this song explains exactly what's going on between Gao Shi De and ShuYi, they didn't know if Yu could speak a fluent chinese, so they asked him to cast for this series and then they changed the script to suit better to Yu, that's why he is half japanese and half taiwanese in the series too... sorry if my english is bad, but I wanted to tell you this because I can't find a better meaning of fate that this story
