The demon was too friendly because she used a Pentacle instead of a Pentagram to summon him 😂. The book and the way the symbol was facing her, has the Pentagram in the wrong direction. It's supposed to be an upside down star to resemble Baphomet. When the symbol is in the star position it is a PENTACLE which WARDS OFF evil.

I think the publisher of that book did that on purpose too. After all, it’s demon summoning FOR KIDS.
It would not be responsible for them to give the kids a book to summon demons that could destroy the world or kill them. Gotta make it easy and mostly harmless for them

True he does have some goat like features but it's amazingly cleaver how the most brightly coloured demons are usually the most frightening just like the ars goatia most of them look stupid and silly looking but are very powerful.

That’s crazy watching it as a teen when I was little I used to watch this
Still come back to this animation from time to time, and it really holds up, even purely at a concept level.
It's the old "Dark isn't Evil" trope, but colourswapped to be "Pink isn't Evil." Belphegor isn't just cuddly and pink, he actively does the opposite of what's asked of him. He is judged by his appearances by his summoner, and he proves he can smite folks. Look at the ending, he's still cheerful and bubbly, and she finally manages to accept that. Vivian's obviously got a lot of dark thoughts, and it's the demon who gives her a little sunshine.
Maybe that's overthinking it, but it's what sticks out. If you swapped the colours and kept the antagonism, you'd have the 'Dark is not Evil' trope to a T. It's great to see the pink version of it.
