Dude. Sick playing. Seriously. Thanks for the video. I have both, and you just convinced me that it’s okay to let my MODX go. I’m tired of wrestling with it and trying to get to get to play nice with my other gear. While the Akai is happy to work with other hardware and software. 👍

Achei o som da Yamaha mais "aberto" do que o som da Akai MPC .

Just stumbled on this video. AKAI is definitely more analog sounding for piano and elec piano. Organ is subjective, AKAI leslie much better, Yamaha kinda warmer but B3 tones have unusual harmonics, AKIA though brighter is more accurate.

Nice video. The Akai Keys is really good on piano and e-pianos the organs need work though.

I have both. Sat in front of both, the MODX sounds are FAR better.

      @kellygreenii Před 4 měsíci +1

Layering. Modx sounds are often 5,6 or 7 voices layered on top of each other.
The modx is better for live use. The Akai is better behaved and plays well with other in a recording environment.
Between my Akai and Halion 7… my MODX is getting sold. It just doesn’t want to play nice with my other gear.
The Akai is close enough, and is much easier to integrate with other equipment.

@@kellygreenii Yes, layering. And that's why I love the full bodied sounds of the MODX, but I feel it's a little more than just that. I still have the Fabric Collection on my PC running in Cubase, and it sounds better than the Akai ie that sparkle and punch in the sound is present, so maybe it's something in the output stage on the Akai just doesn't do it for me. Both the Akai and Cubase were running through a Focusrite Scarlett and Tannoy Gold 7 monitors.
I had a similar experience years ago with my Korg 01WFD compared to my Korg X2. Same sounds and architecture, but the X2 just didn't have that sparke of the 01WFD. Fast forward almost a thousand years, and many workstations later, I actually sold my Korg Kronos 2 to get the MODX because I found it sonically superior, so I guess I'm just tuned in to the Yamaha sound. I'm glad you found the Akai works for you.

@@onlymeCC Happy for you too. I have always loved that Yamaha sound. But MODX doesn’t play well with others unless it’s the central hub….and that just doesn’t fit into my setup, and after a year of battling its quirks, I was done.

    Bom trabalho. 👍

Hmmmm... Now I can really hear the sound-quality on the MPC. To me, it sounds like AKAI's system is on the same quality with CASIO what you see in Target/Walmart. Lol. Now I know. I will buy Yamaha MODX6. Thanks comparing both item. I apreciated.

The MPC has a warmer professional studio sound vs the brighter home studio sound on the MODX. I'll plan to go with the MPC key 61; 6000 sounds vs 1350 sounds

The organ emulation on the Akai is horrible. For the rest they both have excelent quality, on the Akai the piano sound is beyond realistic, I can smell the wood of the piano on the speakers
