LYRICS:
Once upon a time
There was a girl, pleasing the world
Dying to be liked, looking for love
Wanting to trust
Stickers and scented gel pens,
Get possessions
Get friends
Breaking of pieces, things started to change
Ive been trying to find her since, she gave a little to much away
I don’t want to do this without you
I don’t want to do this if you’re just a ghost in the night
I tried everything to fill up the void you left me with
My Phantom
Phantom
If I could talk to you, I’d tell you not to rush
You’re good enough
You dont have to loose, what makes you you,
Still got some growing to do
When did we get so estranged
Haunted by the way i’ve changed
Peeling back the pieces of me that i’ve lost
Reaching in and hoping you’re still, waiting by the windowsill
I’d bring you back to us
I don’t want to do this without you
I don’t want to do this if you’re just a ghost in the night
I tried everything to fill up the void you left me with
My Phantom
I was wrong to assume, I would ever out grow you
I need you now, I need you close
How do you hold a ghost
Inner child, come back to me, I want to tell you that i’m sorry
I don’t want to do this without you
I don’t want to do this if you’re just a ghost in the night
I tried everything to fill up the void you left me with
My Phantom
Don’t want to do this without you,
Don’t want to do this if you’re locked away in my mind
I tried everything to fill up the void you left me with
My Phantom
Once upon a time, there was a girl
Dying to be liked, looking for love
I don’t want to do this without you - Hudba
hold the girl is gonna be the biggest 2000's revival slay of the decade
defo
we're cheering
Nah
all of rina's albums have 2000's inspiration. it's her thing
Right it’s giving me early 2000s pop sound I’m here for it
make sure you like and comment pixels !!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much for this BOP!!
YAAAAAAS
can’t wait for the album !!!!!!
Like, comment, preorder, and then come watch that awesome solo live next month...! 😁🥳
Omg yesss
I love how the releases are consistent with the inner child and reflection on her past self, plus the beautiful pleasing visuals.
I’m getting so much Avril’s Let Go inner cut vibes from this
the storytelling is real👏👏
Let Go was the first album I owned as a little kid, this hits home

@@jett4961 Same same!!
This album really is gonna heal our inner children isnt it🥲
God I hope so, therapy is getting expensive 😭
This album will unironically cure your depression
I heard a rumour that rina sawayama invented music, fashion and slaying
just no
The rumors were correct...
"inner child, come back to me, i want to tell you that i'm sorry" this part...😭🤍
All the singles released so far are slaying, but this and Hold The Girl are my instant fave after first listen 💅🔥
For me it's this and Catch Me In The Air!! But love all of them!
That's funny cuz I'm the opposite. 😸 My faves are This Hell, Catch Me In The Air, & Hurricane is my #1. I love it.
SAME but This hell is just FIREE
@@lewiswoodhall same
Hold the girl is really good it's like #4 but my top 3 would be This Hell, and I can't decide between Phantom and Frankenstein for my #1
Something about this song and even the music video is so 2000s yet so modern, the concepts Rina touches on in regards to loosing and finding yourself are so universally relatable. No matter your relationship status with a partner or yourself this is a familiar feeling for everyone. Something about this song reminds me of Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry, idk it just has that raw authentic vibe. I can't wait to hear more from Rina, thank you for your music!
This song made me cry the lyrics really spoke to me 😭😭😭 I tried to find love and acceptance in people but at school and college people were so cruel and bullied me and made me feel unlovable and unworthy. I felt like if I acted a certain way people would accept me but it never worked. My inner child really got hurt and it's been a battle to really love myself and accept myself as I am without feeling like I need to do anything to get the approval of others but I'm getting there.
💖
its like my same story as a child :( ppl could be so cruel sometimes it hurts, A BIG HUG!!!🖤🖤
I couldn't have said it better. This song really touched this 56 year old man.
No eres él único, la música nos une y de alguna forma no estás solo, un abrazo fuerte
The last minute with the harmonies and the guitar is one of the most beautiful and moving pop musical moments of the modern era
So beautiful 🤌🏽🤌🏽

Es verdadddd, me da ASMR.

Crying.
I broke so many pieces off myself to avoid disapproval as a kid that it really is a genuine struggle to put them back together. I've finally gotten to a place where I can recognize it, but that means that I still barely know who I am at 29 years old and I'm having to rediscover even huge core parts of my identity that I'd lost nearly two decades ago.
THIS IS SO SLAY, LIKE IM HEADBOPPING THIS SHIT WHILE CRYING, ITS MAYBE THE BEST SINGLE ON THIS ALBUM. THE 90S GIRL NEXT DOOR MV, AND KINDA EMO AVRIL VIBES, IT'S GIVING
I legit just sobbed to it driving to school bruh
Yesss I agree same
I fear this song outdid after school 😭
RIGHT!!!!!!

WHY RINA DOESNT GET THE RECOGNITION SHE DESERVES 😭😭😭😭
Give her time she will as she's from an unknown independent record label at the moment!
Its like wanting her to get mainstream but also wanting her to be just our lil secret 😭
Because she's Asian.
The western media are racist and don't like supporting Asians artists.
@@MaleOrderBride But her record label is giving her the chance and not because she's Asian!
She is going to be when she releases the second full album
rina is consistently proving to herself and to the industry that she does not need to make tiktok songs to have a hit, she’s talented and a unique artist! i’m so proud🥹
i just know ill listen to this album in like 5 10 15 years and still cry
this genuinely gave me chills. rina is THE pop star.
She's out there releasing songs to heal our inner child come on y'all give it up for RINAAAAA
IM HERE I RAN AS FAST AS I COULD
It's like the counterpart of Avril Lavigne's "Keep Holding On" and it works really well! Amazing Rina!
Living for the 2000's aesthetic that Hold The Girl keeps on serving
I felt like I was hypnotized for the entire video. The visuals combined with the song literally just made me blackout and start daydreaming/reminiscing on my past self. Holy crap. This song is so powerful. So slay.
solidifying that mother status with this masterpiece
Hold The Girl is the most beautiful masterpiece of arts
素敵過ぎる😍来年の日本ツアー楽しみにしております🇯🇵🇯🇵🌈🌈🌈🌈
her music is so uncannily fucking good why is every single song liquid gold
It's 4 a.m. in México. I can finally go to sleep now that I've been slayed. Thank you, Rina.
Good morning beautiful
I love the emotion in this album so much
i really hope i look like her in 10 years so effortlessly stunning
This song feels like the emotional reflection on the car ride home after a cathartic therapy session
God, she is slaying this year.
God?
i’m crying every.freaking.time. so breathtaking…
rina sawayama's hobby is slaying
Stumbled across Rina one day and i am not looking back! She is amazing and her vocals are so versatile! 😍
I appreciate the self reflection in this song. She needs herself and won't leave the pieces behind. So inspiration and relatable ♥
This visualizer, and song, are giving late 90s Shania Twain in such a beautiful way.
right away, first verse lyrics hitting
the first listen already made me cry like a child. i just know it was the kid in me who cried. RINA YOU NEVER FAIL TO DELIVER. I LOVE YOU.
Crying. This one really hit me right in the heart. The outro is so flipping beautiful... Wow
Same...
THIS ALBUM IS ABOUT TO BE THE BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE EXISTENCE
this song left me with the eyes dry of how hard I cryed
This song has done more for me than any therapist ever has. I’m not kidding. Singing along, singing these words, has been truly healing for me. I realized I never said these words to myself before. This album truly catapulted my inner child healing in a way nothing ever has and I’m so fucking grateful.
was she trying to make a perfect song? well...
she made it. omg
This is so 2000s but the twist is loving and healing yourself and not about loving someone else
i’m sobbing this really spoke to my inner child
literally EVERY song you release i just kepada saying "THIS IS MY FAVORITEAJAHBA" but fr now this IS the song.
+THAT GUITAR!!
I didn't want the song to end 😭😭
The lyrics hit so hard and it couldn't have come at a better time in my life 🥺🤍
this is going to be the best album of this year my GOODNESS
Rina Sawayama is a huge inspiration to me and I WILL produce a song for her one day.
It is so frustrating: I have as of this video simply run out of superlatives. The entire language is used up and I am just left with awe---ineffable awe. The intelligence of the lyrics and the clarity of her unforgettable melodies are what defy description. We are left with no other response but to bow down.
THIS ALBUM.... REALLY... MY HEART. JUST PERFECT... CRIES FOR THE 100TH TIME
one of my fav songs of the year - so much passion in her voice ❤️ 💗 ♥️
Damn, I was pretty sure that no one could come close to Utada's Bad Mode as album of the year for me but this is really shaping up to be extremely close. So good. Can't wait to hear the whole album soon!
ugh i am still not over bad mode 😭😭utada is a pure musical genius
@@e9ari shes giving me heavy utada vibes with this song
This is a contender to utada’s bad mode

RINA 2010S POP ERA I LOVE IT SO MUCH
This is so beautiful I'm crying right now. Rina is so brave to write such intimate lyrics. WOW what an icon!
Is there anything that Rina can't do? This is giving me a lot of 2000's Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson vibes.
This sounds like Kelly Clarkson circa "All I Ever Wanted" era, 2009, it reminds me of the song "Cry" from that album.
omg yes😭 it’s reminding me of “keep holding on” by avril
this album is gonna be a bop 😍
This is a certified main pop girl moment right there
Giving Shania Twain vibes, we needed this !!!!! Rina is in her own league, a true popstar !⭐🌟⭐
This song gives me Avril Lavigne vibes 💗💗
@@rikardviktor2416 Yess Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson!!
I'm only 20 so I'm still so young but this song really strikes a chord, a lot of it I relate to already but it also feels like a reminder to not let go of that part of myself
thank you Rina for these reminders, we all need them
Rina never disappoints, she is the definition of pop perfection
wake up, Pop died.....
She really is
She has a very natural beauty. It's kind of face in today's society where celebs all look like caricatures. I like her.
The lyrics are piercing...
Same for Hold the Girl... discovered it randomly a few days ago and found myself crying till the last chorus.
I know I will love the album, can't wait to see you in Glasgow~

refreshing
I can’t explain but this song feels very early 2000s
I love your music 💕🫶🏻 your music heal me 🥺
I've only come across your music this month, and wow, you're hitting every nerve in me. This song perfectly describes my current journey as an adult who spent all of my childhood and young adult life trying to look for love (self love, familial love, plain acceptance) and trying to defy my mother's narcissism and nihilism by trying to trust people she told me couldn't be trusted (teachers, friends, other family members). Now, I'm re-learning how to love myself again. It's a long and painful process as I have to face a lot of things and tell myself what I was told I was was wrong. But I have found love and acceptance with people I can unequivocally trust, mending relationships that were damaged thanks to my mother, and they in turn are teaching me why I am deserving of love and how to look for that girl I was before I as damaged.
Wow, you’ve describe a part of my life that I could never fully understand. I could never form strong relationship because my mom told me she was the only friend I have, and friends and teachers etc would hurt me (when it’s totally the other way around) definitely haven’t healed from this but fuck I have a better understanding now
You described my life so correctly...🙏
I wish the best for the both of you; I hope you find your recovery roads and people who love you for you, and help you rediscover your lost phantoms
I relate to this so much. Wishing only healing for all of us. 💗
Not a single bad song in her discography. NOT ONE
I swear to god she's here to save the pop music industry
