- Here is what my guinea pigs eat in a day! Guinea pigs are always eating to keep their digestive tract functioning, especially hay because they need the fiber. If they don’t have hay, they can go into what’s called GI Stasis. It’s a very serious illness and if not treated or recognized, they will die from it.
