  • I adopted and saved another 24-year-old embroidery/sewing machine.
    Sewing machine companies have been producing these machines for 30 plus years putting out new models every 2 to 4 years. Grandmas who owned them and barely used them are passing away and the kids are selling off her sewing room.
    It is a buyer's market right now because these machines are flooding the used machine market and sellers are finding the competition is not allowing them to make large profits off of these machines. Buyers are getting them for pennies on the dollar from the original cost when they were new.
    This is a perfect time for newbies to buy this kind of machine before they venture into the newest and more up-to-date technology machines.

    I love your channel. I have a Brother ULT2001 that I bought 20 years ago. I absolutely love it. Now that I have found your videos, it makes me want to sew more. I would love to take some of your classes.

    I have a PC 6500 I bought new around 2000. No embroidery or knee lift. It has a ton of decorative stitches, 3 fonts, several buttonholes. Fabulous machine still going strong.

    I am really enjoying seeing you find and save these machines. Your videos are always full of education and things I did not know even though I have been sewing for over 30 years. Thank you.

    I had to decide between the PC8500D and an Innov-is 1250D which is a much newer machine. I went with the Innov-is 1250D which I got for the same low price as the PC8500D's are selling for. The Innov-is 1250D also sews sidesways and has a USB port and takes the Brother Design Cards which I have many and the PED BASIC. The stitch count was below 50,000. It was new 11 years ago and it went in for service too. The Innov-is 1250D has the knee lifter and it does everything the PC8500D does in a newer package with newer faster electronics plus has a USB port and has Brother's one shot all automatic needle threader too. ******* For the hand stitch look the clear thread goes in the top. Many of the PC8500D machines are having problems now so buyers MUST be sure they are getting a seldom used machine.

    The Pacesetter 6500 was the top of the line machine. When I purchased my PC8200 (looks identical to the PC8500) it was the top of the line Brother machine. The ULT came afterwards.

    I was inspired by your last video on this and managed to score a dirt cheap Pfaff creative 7550 from 1999 - it has a plug in scanner and 30 buttons on the front. Unreal, in the UK you would get bottom of the bottom-of-the-range intermediate singer/brother for the same price.

    I own one of these and its not from 1999 - more like 2012. I agree it is a great machine which I mostly use for sewing - rarely embroidery because it is just too difficult to deal with importing new patterns. Your video reminded me why I need a newer embroidery machine

    Can you please make a review of the Singer 401 with the fashion discs meant for embroidery? ❤

    • @randyc8171
      @randyc8171 Před 8 měsíci +1

      The fashion discs are for decorative stitches. Before real embroidery machines, decorative stitches were called embroidery because if you did not have a machine to do them they had to be "hand embroidered" as it was called. But today most machines will do decorative stitches and they are no longer called embroidery stitches. Nobody calls them embroidery anymore unless you grew up in the 1950's.
