MathType Tutorial: Formatting Equations and Reactions in MS Word

Writing equations in professional format is a very important step when writing a manuscript. Your formatting counts alot when it comes to Journal Papers. Some Journals reject the papers on poor formatting. This video takes you through, on how to write equations professionally.

Hi Haider, When I copy and paste an equation from Word into MathType, it shows only as a linear equation. Is there anyway to quickly change the view in MathType from linear to professional, like in Word?

I cant recall it now, there is an option where it converts automatically. Look in the tab above

@@HaiderNiaz yes, I found it just an hour ago: it copies linear equations by default, so check the setting in the equation editor ribbon and then select 'copy MathML' as default. This then works. Thank you anyway as your video helped point me in the right direction!

when I write equation from mathtype, send it to prof. to review the paper. After my prof. sends back to me by email, the math eq. opens like pic and I cant edit it from mathtype. Do u have idea, how I can solve it.

From file options, go and enable compatibility mode. It maybe due to that.

@@HaiderNiaz Each new equation are enclosed in a closed square box. You can only access the color property after you double click on that box. But you can only select the texts that are all within this same equation box. But I want to select all equations in every boxes, let there be 2, 10 or 1000 equations.
