When I started playing DCS I bought a print of the actual P-51 flight manual. There's a small section about how you do NOT open the cockpit in case of an engine fire, because an open cockpit will act as a chimney and flames will funnel through it. I still think about that from time to time.
@calvinnickel9995 fw 190 has an aerodynamics of a flying building, not even a brick. Callin bf 109 fragile is nonsense, it's the F4's, F6's and others that were made of literal paper and had their tails pop off
