Thank you so much for this. I’m on the journey of becoming a motivational speaker. I learned I had the passion of uplifting people when I was working in the medical field. Instead of cleaning them and giving them bath. I found my joy in my patients allowing me to hear their stories and I love inspiring them. It was so valuable to see black femmes my age doing what I want to be doing. This was worlds more meaningful, appropriate, and relatable for me than the old white people talking about the same topic. How do you balance the dichotomy of talking about yourself to be relatable, but not talking so much about yourself that you bore others?
You place stories strategically! So maybe one story about you in the beginning, but the other stories can be about you and your clients!
