I'm "on location" today at my mom's house. Come check out a couple items of interest from my grandmothers, as well as some little neat things in my mom's curio cabinet!
This is such a magical video. Your stories of your family, childhood and local area are so soothing and evocative. First time I have cried watching an ASMR video too - your story about your grandfather while you were showing the bowl was so moving. x
That bowl was singing memories. I'm so pleased you have real objects of use, that have such sweet honest family connections. All those eight people eating the lovely biscuits. All the scratches marks the labour of your Grandma. She must have been very hardworking and devoted. I love hearing your family history. It's affirmation of humanity triumphant over any adversity. Love the soap history.
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! You were one of the only people that could help me to sleep when I was pregnant and having troubles sleeping. Now that I'm awake with a newborn you help me to relax. Thank you!
I really love your video. When you talk it's so natural. As if you are taking to me. It's awesome. Glad to get a glimpse of a slice of your life. Thanks for letting us know little bit of you.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rewatching this for the third time after the most stressful couple days, your videos are just so soothing and relaxing, more so than any others on CZcams. These videos never fail to bring my anxieties right down from high to low, thank you so so much
+KatyASMR You are so welcome! I look forward to doing many, many more! I feel that way about Bob Ross. Just listening to him talk while he paints, the little stories he tells sometimes...it just melts my stress away!
How wonderful that your Mom saved things through the years.... made for some very splendid memories. I especially loved the train-chasing story. Thank you for sharing. May God bless you and bring you peace in all areas of your life. :)
+luvinmyMAC Thank you! I'm glad she saved those things. My dad's not very sentimental and got rid of a lot of old stuff that he had. Fortunately, my mom didn't!
One role play that would be amazing for you to do is an Antiques Road Show type video. This one reminded me of that show, (of course more relaxing), and made me want to request a video like that! Subscribed yesterday after watching your necklace in boxing video, your voice is very soothing and I have enjoyed sleep the last 2 nights thanks to you!
Thank you so much for your wonderfully relaxing videos. They are my go to for bedtime relaxation. Your voice calms me and helps me drift off to sleep. I like your show and tell videos the best.
I believe the mystery object may be a crochet hook. I had an elderly lady I used to visit who used a very fine hook like thst to make lacey curtains. Thanks for another fantastic relaxing video.
I think it´s so great that you appreciate items that have been used for a long time and that have a history. It´s particularly nice because very often it´s all about hauls and showing new stuff on CZcams without saying very much of interest. You always tell somethin interesting around an Item - if it´s new or not and that makes your ASMR channel somehow unique and authentic. :):)
+Anne Gehlen (underthepink) Thanks! Just about everything in that curio cabinet has a story behind it. There were so many more things I could've included, and now I wish I had. Maybe I'll have to go "on location" again and bring some more items out!
I will have you let know that it has only taken me four nights to get to the end of this video. 😚 it's such a lovely video and the fact it's so personal is just an added bonus! thank you for this gem of a video. 💕
Mary, this is my absolute favorite video by you, I always come back to this video. Your voice and hand movements thoroughly relaxes me. Thank you for taking time out of your days to do these!! 💖 It is greatly appreciated!! 💖
This is such a relaxing and entertaining video. It was interesting to see things from your past, and hear you tell about them. Thank you for taking the time to make this for us. I love that sweet southern accent!
Thank you! I found so many things last weekend at my mom's house that brought back so many vivid memories. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I think I'll do it again!
I just discovered your videos and I love them! I love how you describe things and hearing your stories, I feel a connection with you. Keep on making these wonderful ASMR videos!
I have been listening to asmr videos for awhile can't believe it has taken me this long to find your channel. So glad i have i absolutely love it you do a great job, you need a Facebook fan page so we can give some of the love back. Thanks for everything and keep doing what you are doing love from Australia.
+Erik Mason Hi! I'm so glad you found me, and that you love my videos! I took your advice, and I started a facebook page.facebook.com/southernasmr.sounds
If your brother is still a railfan, he's got plenty of hotspots for transporting in Georgia: Folkston, Austell, Locust Grove. I used to drive my grandparents crazy when I heard a train coming and would bolt from the dinner table to run down the street to watch it roll by -)
At 33:00 you talk about a pick and what it is used for. That is used for people who highlight their hair. This pick is for digging into the holes of the cap and bringing out the bits of hair to be lightened.
when i was a kid i thought the same thing about the girl scouts, when i found out we werent going camping i was pissed!! hahaha. i was always so jealous of my brother getting to do do that stuff
I hope it's not still like that. I don't know, though. It was SOOO boring to me, just sitting around inside making crafts and nothing else. That just wasn't my cup of tea.
+SouthernASMR Sounds me too, I am only 20 so it must have been about ten or less years ago when I tried to join.... Girls love camping! They should know that by now.....
+Margie Handler Thanks for letting me know! It was definitely my grandmother's, then. She did some crochet work. My mom never did, so I know it's not hers.
the Pepsi can came from an Arab country because the language is Arabic and it says Pepsi diet. the hook I believe is a crochet hook or embroidery needle.
+Sabrina Allhusen Oh, definitely! The acoustics were SOOO good in that room. Better than any room in my house. I think I'll use it again, and it would be perfect for either a whispering or a tapping video. :)
+Anastasia Beaverhausen That would apply to my brother, then. I think he was only in the Scouts for about a year. I guess that's why it was in there with the other Scouts pin.
I love how descriptive you are and your voice is just soooo relaxing
This is such a magical video. Your stories of your family, childhood and local area are so soothing and evocative. First time I have cried watching an ASMR video too - your story about your grandfather while you were showing the bowl was so moving. x
This would be a great video for the visually impaired. So descriptive and lovely. Thank you
Wow such a great, personal video. this makes your channel magically beautiful!
+Marissa Johnson Thank you Marissa!

33:08 that is a crochet needle/hook :)
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! You were one of the only people that could help me to sleep when I was pregnant and having troubles sleeping. Now that I'm awake with a newborn you help me to relax. Thank you!
I love this video! So relaxing, but also loved hearing the stories about the different items!
I love your show-and-tell videos so much! The best kind of ASMR in my book. :) Thanks for all the work and time you put into making these.
+Lizper Whisper You are so welcome!

Ooh, I like the "Antiques Road Show" idea! I love that show!! I'll have to see what I can come up with!
Thank you so much for your wonderfully relaxing videos. They are my go to for bedtime relaxation. Your voice calms me and helps me drift off to sleep. I like your show and tell videos the best.

Good call. Definitely a lacework crochet hook. :)
+whisperlistens I wish I knew how to crochet. I bet that would make an awesome video!

+littlefreakbitch1 Thank you!
You are definitely one of my favorite ASMRtists. Especially your whisper videos! Thank you for doing these videos.
+Lauren Kelley You are so welcome! I have so many ideas for more videos. Ah, now just to find the time! :)

+Don Alan Thank you Don!

Incredible video, Mary. One of my favorites.
Get a patreon. (Spelling??) I'd donate. If it'd bring more videos!! These get me to bed at night. I desperately need them.
Your voice gives lots of tingles. Love the story of your grandad holding you when you were a baby. So touching thanks for sharing that!!
Thank you! I found so many things last weekend at my mom's house that brought back so many vivid memories. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane. I think I'll do it again!
+SouthernASMR Sounds you should definitely do another one!

+Amikunkka Thank you so much! There was enough stuff in that curio cabinet to do about 20 more of these videos. Huh...maybe I will!

+Sara Phillips Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it! The acoustics in that room were amazing. I may do more in there!
Maybe some kind of curiosity shop role play.
You are so wonderful!! I'm so impressed with the quality and quantity of every video:) keep up the excellent work my love!
I love your soft spoken ❤
I have a bowl just like this. It was my great aunt's.
So relaxing. I loved your stories. ❤️🌈💙
This was informative, touching and tingly.
I love your accent !
I loved this video and the stories Mary xo

funny but my aunt and I were just talking about the wood bowls we have that we cook in.
+Margie Handler They really are awesome. I just wish I knew who made my grandmother's bowl for her.
the hook looks like what we use to pull hair through a hair cap to put highlights in your hair xx
I believe the hook is a tatting hook. Its like crochet but with thread and is very very intricate.
If your brother is still a railfan, he's got plenty of hotspots for transporting in Georgia: Folkston, Austell, Locust Grove. I used to drive my grandparents crazy when I heard a train coming and would bolt from the dinner table to run down the street to watch it roll by -)

I have a bowl like that from my great great grandmother in Alabama
when i was a kid i thought the same thing about the girl scouts, when i found out we werent going camping i was pissed!! hahaha. i was always so jealous of my brother getting to do do that stuff
I hope it's not still like that. I don't know, though. It was SOOO boring to me, just sitting around inside making crafts and nothing else. That just wasn't my cup of tea.

that is a crochet hook
+Margie Handler Thanks for letting me know! It was definitely my grandmother's, then. She did some crochet work. My mom never did, so I know it's not hers.
That is a crochet hook for making lace pieces! They are so very tiny!
I don't know how anybody can work with something so tiny and delicate!
It is a crochet hook!
Useful tip wth the soap :)
+h9ooo I hope to make that video soon. I may just end up with a mushy mess, but I'll give it a shot! I hate throwing away slivers of soap.
It’s a tatting hook. To make lace!
Did you ever end up making the soap!? I’d love to see the video !
the Pepsi can came from an Arab country because the language is Arabic and it says Pepsi diet.
the hook I believe is a crochet hook or embroidery needle.
Still waiting on the soap 🧼 tutorial, am I missing the link to it? 😬
My baptist church does that Pin still 😂
The Girl Scouts go camping and do stuff outside all the time well in my Girl Scout troop
great video could you do some tapping in the next show and tell?
+Sabrina Allhusen Oh, definitely! The acoustics were SOOO good in that room. Better than any room in my house. I think I'll use it again, and it would be perfect for either a whispering or a tapping video. :)
that lovely little yellow tin would go in my bathroom
+Margie Handler It really is adorable. One of my kids would probably take it if I took it home!
I think the star might be a BSA "years of service" pin. blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2014/04/02/service-stars-for-scouts-and-scouters-pins-with-a-point/
+Anastasia Beaverhausen That would apply to my brother, then. I think he was only in the Scouts for about a year. I guess that's why it was in there with the other Scouts pin.
+luvinmyMAC Thanks for letting me know!
Boyd crochet hook.
can you please do a biscuit making video! i'm a college student i so desperately miss homemade biscuits
and thats a BEAUTIFUL wooden bowl i love the sound
That's just a small gauge crochet hook
Maybe it was used for making crocheted lace, like doilies?
Don't stop making show and tells. Ever.
+Hannah Meyer I won't!! I promise!
You took off your ring :'(
+zyq823 Ummm...That's a story for another day. It's not all sad, though, I promise.
ASMR UNIVERSE ew imagine feeling entitled enough to say this to someone
It's Arabic 😂
