    I am a old fire department tower ladder guy love sketchy stuff like that, rode the 265' Bronto in the early 2000s now Bronto has a 367' out. love it man.

    Used a 90’ version of that lift in a building to install lighting - they’re crazy machines! Pretty cool to go up in

    Cool little rig. Ran all types as a commercial glazier, from the tow behind models all the way to 140' JLG lifts, definitely sketchy but tons of fun. I rent them occasionally for tree jobs now, but that style looks better suited for offroad use, definitely going to find one to rent, good luck with it. Look forward to videos of it..

    A place i worked at back in the 90's had rough terrain 4wd , 4 wheel steering with huge outriggers scissor lift that went up 6 storeys propane powered always 2 tanks full at the start of the day , it was rated for 4 workers and tools, if memory serves me right 8/900 lbs, so 2 men and equipment or 2 trips up , it was amazing how stable it was up there sometimes working on the sides of buildings or going up to roof top never been up 72 ft high in a lift, a ladder yes, if you ever drove that scissor lift on soft ground or muddy area and got stuck, oh man, call the recovery truck or lots of times there were loaders on the job sites and they could pull it out, looking forward to seeing this in future videos 👍

    You saw my Genie 60/34 Z Boom at the ranch and I can tell you first hand that 60 ft in the bucket is a thrill/unnerving 😳. They are a game changer but you have to have the testicular fortitude to learn how to run it, nothing natural about it. Thanks for sharing Sam👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

  • @geraldkoth654
    @geraldkoth654 Před 4 lety

    Sam riding a spider. Sure should be a lot safer for VBelt. Tools no longer dangling to catch and pull you down is a huge advantage. Can load it by backing under it. And I see a huge bungee cord sometime in the future. The man lifts we used at test sites went up about 40 to 50 feet to work on Vertical Launch Tubes from Submarines we used for special missile launch tests.

    That is a slick rig, I used a 65ft loft and she would sway real bad! I rather be on the picks. But I can see the advantages. Keep on with the vids Sam. I always enjoy them. Congratulations Vbelt stay safe!

    I used to have a 75 foot track lift almost exactly like that, but it flipped over when we were moving it from one tree to another. Track found a soft spot in the dirt and flipped. The motor ran away, broke the bucket, and bent the booms. Completely totaled! Biggest thing I’ve learned from running one of these machines is they aren’t as “off road” as you would think. Hope all is good and stay safe out there👍🏻

  • @MiniDigging
    @MiniDigging Před 4 lety

    I use several JLG mobile lifts at work the scariest are the 160' and the 210' lifts. You can sneeze in them and it will sway several feet in all directions in no wind, much less on a windy day. Really takes some time to build your nerve to feel comfortable in them. Anything below the 160' is really comfortable to me but above that the pucker factor gets tighter the higher you go.

    You should probably get the old man a safety harness. I used to use the 4x4 lifts like that on commercial jobs building buildings we weren't allowed to use them unless we were wearing a harness. They could get a little jerky sometimes.

    Advice on the lift, get out your threadlocker and do up All of the C Pivot retainers especially on the legs. Do not expand or retract the undercarriage unless up in the air, could blow an o-ring. keep covered in rain and try not to work it in the rain.

    Heck I have a tree that really needs to come down but it has to be brought down in sections so that it doesn't fall on the back of my house. PGE has been cutting it away from the power lines that it's leaning towards the house. Let me know if you want to make a video and how much to remove the tree...👍 Also PGE said they wouldn't cut it down for me. So I filed and revoke their easement path down my property line

  • @mckrackin5324
    @mckrackin5324 Před 4 lety

    I'm a retired construction worker and I've been in a bazillion different lifts. I hate them all. lol You could rig a chain saw on the basket with a camera and cut stuff remotely from the ground.
    I'm not afraid to go high in a lift but I refuse to go to their limits. If I need to go 72 feet, then I need a 100 foot lift ;) United Rentals tried to sell us a 270 foot lift. I told them I wouldn't even work for a company that needed such a thing. It could reach out 120 feet with the main boom level with the ground and then go up 150 feet. Hard pass.
