On Holiday Do You Search For A Nearby Parkrun?

- Whilst on Holiday in Norfolk I was desperate to get my 9am Parkrun fix! A quick search from where I was staying on the Norfolk Showground revealed that the nearest parkrun was Colney Lane. Another check on the local bus timetables showed that it was only a mere 15 minutes away. It was even better as the bus stop was opposite the Showground gates and there was the number 4 bus leaving at 7.32am to get me at Colney Lane at 7.50am. This gave me plenty of time for a warm up & filming for the channel. The bus ride to Colney Lane went as planned and after attending the first timers briefing it was all systems go around the scenic 2 lap course. The parkrun started directly outside Colney Lane Pavilion with runners spread out on the grass in a long line for a cavalry charge to the first right turn at the cones. The course was a mixture of running on grass and paths through open fields and woodland. There is also an uphill section through the woods that really raises the heart rate which you have to negotiate twice over the 2 laps. The finish line is where it all started outside the Pavilion. I finished in a time of 26.21, 85th place out of 293 participants & 1st from 11 in my Age Group. A great day at the office!!

Excellent vlog once again. Norfolk is such a lovely place. I've done 72 Parkruns at 37 locations. I love trying new ones and visiting new places. I'll be at Great Yarmouth on Saturday which I'm really looking forward to.
Yes I agree Dean, Norfolk is a lovely area. Sandringham parkrun is one of my favourites! Wow 37 different venues from 72 is a great ratio, over 50% at different places. Good luck for Great Yarmouth, I have never done that one. Thanks so much for your kind comments Dean, very much appreciated 👍
We were going to do this one in a few weeks but I see Dereham parkrun has started. As we're staying close and it's my ancestral home we'll certainly be there.
I think you will really enjoy Colney Lane despite the hill in the woods🤣 The volunteers are really friendly & there is free Tea & Coffee in the pavilion afterwards. I will look forward to the Vlog👍
