Glad you talked about the correct location of wear indicator. On the Impreza and Crosstrek, the repair manual is confusing because it points to a similar location as a brake pad return spring, but this does not apply to these models. On the Outback this is true, but not on the Impreza or Crosstrek. This is actually the wear indicator and not a return spring, and for some reason it's on both pads. If it was a return spring there would be a metal surface on the shims for the spring to to ride on.

Hey!
I just recently replaced my brakes on my 2018 crosstrek, however I’m still getting a ton of squealing from them. A lot of vibration that creating not the wear spring sound but more of a loud high pitched hum. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on it? I’m planning on redoing everything in a couple of days and looking for anything out of the ordinary. Thanks!!
