I remember it was 1986-1987. I was 13. I stayed home sick from school. Ended up in the back of a pink station wagon full of surfboards headed to the beach to surf with my brother and his friends girlfriend. This tune was playing. I can still smell the Bubble Gum surf wax.
Wasn't even born yet but as a blk man born in the 80's who found himself in a predominantly Hispanic community I quickly learned, accepted, and loved freestyle along with salsa, reggaeton, and bachata 😊

OMG! I love this music. Im from Las Vegas & they have no clubs that play this stuff. I live in the Monterey Grand Apts & every now & then there is some guy that lives by the pool that will play some jams that send me right back to my prime days of high school. Im not as cute as I was when I was 20 but Im still the best catch at 35 that you can possibly get.

I was 6 years old when this song came out. Still feel the impact of the music now in my 40s. My older brothers and sisters were teenagers around this time and that's how I was introduced to this music. They played it all the time
