Sir, you are extremely talented and it shows in your knowledge, presence, delivery, recording, timing, and editing, not to mention your creativity and the construction of your van. You are so good at explaining things. I have watched literally hundreds of vanlife videos and never understood how all the electrical components work before. You have a gift for this! I am a senior citizen living in a sticks and bricks home but I can dream about having a nice little rig like yours for extended trips and far away family visits. And understanding this puts me one step closer. Thank you!

You have such a gift in explaining things! This was so clear and methodical and just very...kind in general. Like I don't think a lot of people appreciate how others speak kindly when explaining things, but I really felt that you really wanted us to understand and succeed in doing this, and it's just such a nice thing to see. Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge to empower others. In my country, there is a saying that one of the best deeds you could do in life is to impart knowledge to others, for it will live on even long after you're gone and flourish into other good deeds as your knowledge is utilized. You, sir, are the perfect embodiment of that saying :) Stay safe and healthy always!

The van is sweet, very nice. i live in a '68 dodge dart. removed back seat. i have 100AH deep cycle battery with i charge using my alternator, no DC to DC. i have tricks up my sleeve. as for your video i approve *i Like, OLE'!*

Here's my tip : If you are going to do a electrical system Really do your homework on items that will upgrade your need for power (solar panels, Battery storage, A/C outlets, Charging rates And Alternators) Example : This Nissian NV200 comes with a factory stock 110 Amp alternator. However You can buy 220Amp Alternators that fit the same engine And if you shop around can get it at a good price This means you can charge your van with double the power while you drive or idle Not just Nissian All companies have high end models. And i would highly reccomend upgrading your wiring with Welder's copper cable wire 1/0Awg And hammered lugs for the engine grounding system. The next starting battery you buy Try to find one with Top And Side posts This will help If you need to add wiring And boosting I finshed off my battery And exposed grounds that in open air/water with battery spray protector This keeps them from corrosion alot longer And water free contact

For many newer laptops with USB-C PD support, you could get a 12 volt DC to USB-C PD charger and skip the inverter all together. The conversion from DC to AC and back to DC would surely have more losses along the way. Also, I think it would be a good idea to carry a power bank so you can charge it while in a coffee shop and bring it back with you to the van.

@5:52 One more big advantage on Lithium vs Lead Acid is usable capacity. Discharging (using) greater than 50% of lead acid battery will permanently damage the battery. Therefore, for example, for all usage same, a 50 ah Lithium battery that can be use to run for 4 hours, 50 ah Lead Acid usage has to be less than 2 so it does not damage it.

You could always replace your starter battery with a matching lithium battery. The type of battery isn't that big a deal as long as it has enough voltage/AH to turn the engine over. That way you don't end up having to mix two incompatible battery types. You can also use the same inverter backwards, just like an electric motor can be turned into a generator- it'll do either AC to DC or DC to AC, takes some wire snipping but it works- I've done it.
    Very nice setup either way!
