    With number notations like that, whenever two levels (for lack of a better word) share the same starting letter, then the lowercase letter always stands for the smaller level. So quadrillion would be “q” and quintillion would be “Q”. Same thing for sex/septillion.

    Matt: *is gaining electricity, and therefore max fuel*
    Matt: *sees fuel percentage falling precipitously* OH IT'S SO BAD I'M TAKING SO MUCH DAMAGE
    no you aren't
    You start with no electricity. You gain electricity as you mine, and with electricity, you gain maximum fuel capacity. Electricity doesn't increase how much fuel you have at the moment, so your fuel percentage decreases.
    You have a static shock that consumes a tiny amount of electricity. The static shock damages a random nearby block every second, and makes the block bluer.
    Your drill is poisoned. Poison does damage to blocks even after you leave them, so they slowly diminish. Poison makes blocks greener.
    When you have your laser equipped and you fire it at blocks, the blocks become redder.
    I think purple or magenta means there are multiple effects on the same block, but I'm not sure. The changes in color impact the core as well.
    Matt: *waves mouse around*
    Matt's drill: *Always faces cursor*
    Matt's drill: *Touches cobalt, explodes*
    Matt: How'd that happen?
    Apparently, the drill doesn't freeze when the prestige menu is up. That's a quality of life issue; ask the developers for the game to pause when the prestige menu is up.
    You crafting more glass/gunpowder when the queue already has tens or hundreds of millions in it is just a waste of resources at this point. I recommend that you get a video editor (free ones do exist; alternatively use the one built-in to youtube), and just AFK for an hour on the crafting screen, then just splice the AFKing out.

      lol, years of games with health bars do have me preconditioned to freak when I see one with a low percentage filled. And good info, especially on the purple. Didn't know that was multiple block modifiers.

      @ZefulStarson Před rokem +4

      @pikatheminecrafter There's no point in just AFKing yet. Mining generates gems which are used to increase the number made on each craft cycle. Going and doing the +drop challenges on a planet with high prestigue will generate more gems to accelerate crafting faster than just waiting will.

    Tip: You deal a lot more damage to a planet after taking out its core. So, the best way to gather resources is to first go straight to the moon destroy it and then gather the surrounding resources that you need.

    • @ZefulStarson
      @ZefulStarson Před rokem +3

      Technically true, but misleading. With the depth damage bonus, you do a lot of damage as you approach the core. With the depth fuel bonus the same applies to max fuel. Taking out the core doesn't actually seem to do anything, it's just a series of knock-on effects that reach their apex as you reach the core.
      Like once you get the damage bonus from depth, you can deal way more damage to blocks which can negate their high fuel cost to move through if you have enough regen (which gives a percentage of the block's durability as fuel) and armor (which presumably lowers the impact on fuel from block durability). Which given the focus on taking out the core can look like the blocks all losing durability.

    Needs to hit up those challenges for each planet core level. When each level of the same planet gives you the same 3 challenges for multiple stacks it seems like a huge waste and self penalty not doing em as soon as you can manage it.

    • @deepspacematt3333
      @deepspacematt3333  Před rokem +3

      I thought that was for their individual rotation around their own axis. I was under the impression all our planets travel around the Sun counterclockwise (when viewed from "above"). This game has planets traveling clockwise and counterclockwise around the Sun. I could be misremembering that about our solar system though, been a while.

  • @a.v.y8331

    Matt, please please look at the absolute numbers of your fuel and not just glance at the gauge...
    You have two methods of gaining fuel: Electricity and Depth.
    Electricity is gained from breaking blocks and directly increases max fuel by a ratio of x electricity = y fuel. Depth is calculated from your deepest dig on this specific mining run and proportionally increases max fuel by a multiplier (you can see the multiplier on the left side of the screen).
    When you start digging, your max fuel goes up by much more than your regen can catch up to, which makes it look like you're taking damage when you're actually not. However, this misunderstanding is easily, EASILY cleared up by reading the actual numbers on your fuel gauge.
    To be fair, it's not really your fault, I've seen so many youtubers who play this game fail to catch the exact same thing. It's probably more of a viewer thing that's so obvious to us since we can sit back and look at the whole screen instead of having to split our focus between a bunch of different things at the same time (fuel, control, resource gain, talking, various HUD indicators).

    • @deepspacematt3333
      @deepspacematt3333  Před rokem +2

      Yeah, so used to games that increase max health (fuel in this case) by increasing the size of bar. Though, I suppose with the crazy numbers this game puts out, that'd probably push the bar off screen.

    • @a.v.y8331
      @a.v.y8331 Před rokem +3

      yeah, I thought that might be part of the problem too lol I was thinking "what if they increased the size of the bar instead" but then seeing you start with ~20k fuel and increasing to 2m at the end I was thinking that may not be so feasible as well

    Hey Matt, I appreciate your content and mellow voice. Can't tell you how many CZcamsrs I stopped watching because they had no volume control.
    I love this game so thank you for playing it. I have noticed that your thumbnails have been outlined in red and I wanted to let you know that it makes it really hard to tell if you have already watched the video. At least on the Nividia Shields app. It might be more obvious on other platforms.
    Idk if viewers starting and scrubbing through the vid to see if it's familiar affects your stats but that's what I ended up doing to counteract that. Kinda frustrating but not a major issue. Just wanted to let you know.
    Thank you for the great content! Keep it up!

      Glad you're enjoying the videos! That's a good point on the frame color I had not considered. Usually I just select a color related to the game's art or logo. Shouldn't be a problem to change the red/reddish ones to a different color (I have every template saved). It'll take a few days to do. And fast forwarding through videos won't affect the metrics/algorithm by any noticable amount. Thanks for the heads up!
