- This video is a lighthearted take on the rounding process created for an internal audience. Considering the huge positive response we received we decided to share this with others. We're pleased that hospitals across the world have shared this with their teams to better connect with the purpose of hourly rounding in a fun way.
Each day our nurses "round" with their patients. This means they check on them at least once an hour to check on the three "Ps" ; Pain, Potty and Position. This continued rounding keep our patients safe and comfortable.
Thanks to the many amazing Adventist Health employees that contributed to this video.

Adventist Medical Center ~ You're AWESOME !!!
Thge audio is awesome....good job to the production crew! Thanks you fellow nurses! :)
This is awesome!
Very clever - if I didn't know he had died in 1976, I would swear Busby Berkeley was at Portland Adventist. His influence lives on!
What a SCREAM!!!
Awesome video. Glad to be a part of the team.
Thank you samoajane, people always like to cast the first stone and stop and think what we are doing in a hospital but to care for the sick with love and compasion. I taught the video was a great viedo by our own nurses on 3rd floor.
Shown to our practice council.. What a creative way to get the word out! KUDOS!
I love everything about this! Very professionally done, in every sense of the word.
watched this at my orientation, it rocked.
This is AWESOME!!!! And I love Marie's tiara!

Lmao my mom must have commented this through my account 8 years ago, she works with everyone in the video. What a trip.
Maximilian Minde lol my mom also knew Marie too ! We are still friends!
I love love love this video. Great Job everyone that made this!!! GREAT JOB!!! PERFECT!!!
40 yrs. ago, I graduated high school with Marie. If anyone works with her, have her contact me!! I've been married 39 yrs. Served as a missionary to Mexico most of that time. 4 kids. 7 grands!!
Well done. It is great to see some of my peeps here.
Adventist health medical center is the best!!
Wonderful talent Thank you Rounding is very much clearer now XXX
Cute video but I work with high acuity patients. At time I have 5 glio's and we try not to use restraints or sitters so that transfer to rehab won't be held up. Great concept but we are exhausted at the end of the day with unrealistic visitors who consume up much of the time needed to take care of clients. The clients are okay but lately the families are difficult. With epic now it's more documentation. This system works when used effectively.
Josephine Austin the only reason for this video was because the nurse was leaving the hospital
It was just for fun
my second time to watch this. you are all beautiful.
I've seen these nurses before at the cafeteria when I'm on my way to my moms office after school... should I ask for their autographs next time?
loved this video-a fellow nurse
Such a fun video! It's clear to see that the @AdventistHealthNW nurses truly love their work. If I'm in the hospital I want to to be treated by people who love what they're doing and are committed to providing me the best care possible. Now I know where I can find that! :)
Lovely!
Hey, that's pretty good!
FABULOUS!
It's so fun to see all of your comments. Glad you're enjoying the video!
Yep - great job all around! The musical production is good enough that it had to have been done by "that one" local professional music group that has done a number of parodies that we have heard on local radio. Actually - the video production is fairly decent too. Nice job!
AWESOME !!!
Wow, thanks for all the great comments everyone!
They should have introduced rounding this way, very cute.
this is great haha. Much better watching it with sound.
@ rale66- I see that it honors God greatly, because it shows that we are committed to taking care of His people, and going above and beyond to do so. like the song says. they shall know we are by our love. and what better way to show love then to heal a person in need.
@AdventistHealthNW anytime
@Kelsey1810 The patient is one of my best friends dads and I coached the girl who plays his daughter in basketball camp for a couple years... the Adventist world is so so small. Especially the hospital :P
This is so beautiful - can someone put up the lyrics please...
Ha HA HA! I love it!
@samoajane Couldn't have said it better myself.
Ghastly - I always took my responsibility as an RN seriously, spoke with and observed patients several times an hour maybe more - without being told to. We had to - it was our job however we were on the ward NOT the glass fish bowl!! I even managed to 'round' with community patients via telephone between visits if clinically required. An observation made this year when husband in hospital (over 60) is that you are often spoken to as if you are simple instead of being taken for an intelligent capable adult until proven other wise. Oh and the tick box - the answers are not even heard! Oh and notice no psychosocial questions such as How do you feel?
You do reealise that the nurses don't really act like that in hospitals right?
Are you kidding me? Is this for real - how demeaning to nursing as a profession- this is what I studied 3 years for as an undergraduate and over 9 years of post graduate studies.... are we 3???????
Seriously? I am a nurse and this was far from degrading to the nursing profession! Let me guess... You are NOT a nurse.
booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disgrace to the profession, we are not children.
Is this a joke? This RN is not impressed
I appreciate the intent of this video, but it is offensive and degrading to the nursing profession. The video is not professional, does not show mutual respect, and does nothing to promote the intentional rounding initiative. If nursing is to change its image in the public eye, videos such as this need to stop. Unfortunately, the clinical studies that show the benefits of intentional rounding are not nearly as entertaining, but they must be touted more than shaking a bedpan over one's head.
this is the most demeaning thing about the nursing profession that I have ever seen and as a nurse of 30 years I am thoroughly insulted
